I don't want ANY local business to suffer because of my review unless they are doing harm. My hope is that the owners will know that when I walked in today (looking pretty frumpy), the receptionist treated me like she could care less if I was there. When I said goodbye, she said "yeah". I know I looked like crap, I'm actually not at my best today, but I did have an VSO insurance card in my purse and they did lose a sale. I'm sorry to say I won't be going back to Beaumont Vision. I went in with my own prescription so I only needed to purchase frames. It like felt their advice leaned more toward clearing inventory rather than an honest fashion critique, and have to say I'm not thrilled with my new look. What really bothered me was, when I went in to pick up my glasses (which they never called to tell me were ready) I was handed the glasses case with my new glasses in them. I asked if someone would be checking me for a fit? I was asked, "well, do they feel okay?" I said I guess they feel okay, so she said "Then they're fine". I've worn glasses most of my life and have Never had this kind of experience! I was so taken aback I just paid and left with my glasses. I'll be taking them somewhere else to be fitted. Very friendly helpful folks here at Beaumont Vision. Super spiffy space and the doc is great at explaining everything he does. I haven't had an optometrist in over 10 years since my lasik. I work at a desk job and strain my eyes all day staring at a computer screen. They lead me through all the things I needed to get the proper lenses to keep my eyes in better shape longer. They were so nice and great at explaining my options I would highly recommend them to anyone! I can't afford most shop frames despite having insurance but they are supportive and help you to find the right fit even if it's not with them. And they will still gladly support you with fittings and any future advice or appointments whether or not you go with an online retailer or them. I came to Beaumont Vision with a severe medical condition that was previously treated elsewhere but not with success or with as much knowledge and instructions as with Dr. Lewis. He was able to connect all the dots - from dry eyes to inflammation of the cornea - really educate me about my condition, and provided clear, thorough instructions about many many things I can do at home to treat my wide range of problems. He was able to test in depth a wide range of conditions to properly assess my condition -- that previous doctors didn't even consider were related at all. Both my wife and I have purchased glasses here and have had good experiences. My pair had a manufacturing issue with the coating on one lense clouding. They immediately corrected the problem at no charge. A year later I messed up both lenses (I'm hard on glasses) and they ordered me new lenses at no charge. They were clear that this was a one-time deal but that was okay with me as I did not expect them to do this free of charge. It was not there fault. Anyhow, I was impressed. I've been to about 3 appointments there and am a current patient. The staff has always been awesome. They make sure I know different costs or coverage details up front, and are friendly. The person I've always seen has been Dr. Lewis, he's thorough, succinct, and an overall excellent optometrist. My last visit was an emergency visit because I had a lot of 'floaters' and I was kinda terrified. Lauren was the receptionist and because of a cancellation got me in within 2 hours, and the whole time was so understanding and helpful. Dr. Lewis is knowledgeable, experienced, and trustworthy. He's also a great communicator. He explains what's going on with your eyes in plain English and is always willing to answer any questions you might have. We've also seen Dr. Pajot on different occasions and she is also very competent, knowledgeable, and friendly. She was especially helpful explaining color blindness to my young son. Optician Services: The frames are a bit on the expensive side, but I've learned that it's because they don't source frames from the Luxottica conglomerate. This is why I included "socially responsible" above. They're opticians have educated me on this (see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDdq2rIqAlM). They also use high quality lens manufacturers like Zeiss, which is especially important if you have a difficult prescription. The opticians here are very helpful in breaking down the costs of lens features and what insurance will cover. I've also never felt pressured to add on lens features that I didn't want to pay for. The ONLY issue I've had is with getting my glasses fitted for comfort and have gone elsewhere to get my frames adjusted when needed. That said, you will be properly measured to ensure that the lens is set up in the frame properly in relation to your eye. Administration/Reception: The reception staff are friendly and helpful. Scheduling appointments has never been an issue. I always get reminders via post card and my appointments are confirmed by phone. I receive the confirmations in time to cancel or reschedule the appointment if needed (they have a 24 hour cancellation policy like most places). They have also been very helpful and accommodating in getting summary statements for HSA/FSA. I've been going to optometrists for over 30 years and have worn glasses and contact lenses my entire adult life. I've also recently had Lasik. I trust Beaumont Vision and would highly recommend their service. read more

I've been seeing eye doctors since childhood, and in my 40-some years I don't think I've ever had a better experience with a doctor (I've been going to Dr. Lewis for five years). Dr. Lewis is thorough and seems to work tirelessly to ensure his patients' eye health is the first priority. He'll explain to you throughout the process what he's doing, why he's doing it, and what he finds. If he has concerns or something he thinks you should know, he'll explain it in detail without preaching or talking down. I've never felt like I'm being rushed through an impersonal churn-and-turn process and have never felt like unnecessary procedures are being pushed on me. For those complaining about front desk service, it's certainly a valid concern and deserves some feedback. But if a large part of your overall experience hinges on how friendly a receptionist is versus the quality of your visual health, you may want to rethink your priorities. read more

I've been going here too long to not write a review for this place. Dr. Lewis has been and is currently helping me through glaucoma. I'm right on that edge of medication or not for this disease. Because I'm on the younger side for the average glaucoma patient, he is attacking it in every way possible. When one medication doesn't work or causes an allergic reaction, he is right there holding my hand through the process. Dr. Lewis is super easy to talk to. He spends time with his patients and makes them feel comfortable with the decisions he is making. The people he uses up front for insurance and glasses are also right on point. About a year ago I had a severe eye issue. I was new to the area so I did some research to find a good ophthalmologist in this city and decided to go with Dr. Lewis and I'm glad I did. He and the staff treated me wonderfully, fixed me up and even cut me some slack on the bill since i had to keep going in for follow-ups.
