Overpriced vendor spaces for what it is! Van Buren Swap meets is much nicer for the money and much more traffic. I was recently at the Beaumont swap meet on a Sunday. The spaces were full however most looked like junk from the garage, and not many people buying anything. Very few vendors are selling new items. I would not recommend this swap to sell new items, it is great to sell old clothes, tools, and junk from your garage. The Swap meet is empty on Wednesday not even one full aisle they spread them out to make two rows. Saturday is not even half full. One might think they would drop the prices on Wednesday and Saturday in half and try to fill the place however this is unlikely so I will move on to greener pastures. read more

It's a hit or miss! I've gotten some really amazing things like target holiday decor for low prices. and other times it's so empty I walk in and out in 10 minutes. I wouldn't recommend coming here often unless you're a local or have somewhere else to be in the area after. If the weather is hot or too cold it'll be empty. I used to come here in the 80s-90s to help my mom and dad who used to sell here. Then it had more sellers. Today we decided to check it out and see what's up. 50cents per person to get in. There were many empty seller spots. Many of the bigger vendors basically sell the same staple items that you find in any swap meet like hats, socks, toys etc. We made our way through the swap meet buying some dove soap*1buck a piece* can't beat that**on our way out. It's a shame that there are not more vendors. Hopefully this will change. read more

I've only been to their Saturday event, so I wouldn't know if the Wednesday & Friday events are better attended. As some reviewers have already stated, the number of sellers (for Saturdays anyway) has really dwindled down in the last 5 years or so. If you want one of those swap meets where there is junk food everywhere, the same China produced big butt jeans, tops, t-shirts, boom box blasting music and massive crowds, this place is not for you. Here you will find at good prices beautiful plants, fruit trees, great produce, tools, auto accessories, cell phone/watch/sewing machine repairmen & accessories, the most amazing roasted peanuts! And yes, lots of locals bringing in their garage stuff. We only drive 35 minutes but we're avid thrifters so we extend our trip to the local thrift stores in both Beaumont/Banning and even Hemet to round out our treasure hunts. There's plenty of closeby parking and the entry fee per person is only fifty cents. Don't come here on an empty stomach as there is only "snack bar" food; not good at all. I always bring my water so I haven't noticed if there's water fountains or not. There are running water restrooms which are kept clean as well as a bank of porta-potties towards the rear exit gate. There are trash barrels as well so you can get rid of your trash. Lastly, in some of the older reviews, I noticed people complaining about paying fifty cents to get in, no vintage items, "garage trash", complaining about not being told they needed a hand stamp to come back in and being turned away for bringing a non-service dog into the swap meet. It's too bad that others will take your lack of common sense into gospel and not come and patronize a community event where out-of-town vendors and local folks are trying to make an honest dollar. read more

Had a great time selling at this swapmeet. Nice customers, and many of the other vendors where really helpful letting us know where things were. Loved the plant vendors stuff. It all looked so fresh! I bought Rose's, they are doing great. A really good variety of old and new items at good prices. Come on out and look for some great stuff. One vendor, not me, has large plastic totes 3 for 20.00. Wont find a better deal anyplace else! Only 50cents to get in. Come and enjoy the day, find some really great deals, and have a good time doing it. read more

I've had mixed experiences. We went today and "CHIP" the doorman was VERY RUDE. My husband and I entered, and he hole punched our tickets. We found a table and chairs we wanted to buy. We walked out to make room in our car and as we walked out Chip just watched us pass. 3 minutes later, we came back and showed him our tickets. This is how the conversation went Chip: " no hand stamp you need to buy more tickets" Me: "I'm sorry but you didn't tell us we needed hand stamps or offer them to us for reentry we just walked right past you." Chip(in an escalating angry voice): " I don't need to tell you anything! We have (some number) people each day so don't even give me that! There are signs, you need to be more aware of your surroundings. So don't even start with me!" Me: okay?!? I'm sorry but that is his job! The lady collecting money gave us a "I'm sorry " look and told him that we had already paid. He ignored her. So I, in an effort to avoid confrontation, I said it's okay I have 50 cents left and I let my husband go alone to pick up the chairs and table. My husband waited in line again to get his new ticket punched and the doorman chip sarcastically offered the family ahead of my husband hand stamps as they entered. So what's protocol? To offer stamps when someone enters or before they leave? Maybe it's not at all because they assume EVERYONE Will see the one sign that is in the form of a box that says something about hand stamps. I searched all over for it while waiting for my husband to take two trips to carry the table and chairs back that we purchased alone. I know that he could have handled the situation better he was very very rude and confrontational. I do not think that hole punching tickets and asking people if they want stamps is impossible for one person to do.... If it is they should have two door people at all times. I don't ever want to go back. He really scared me with his tone and how quickly he escalated the situation. read more

Attributes: If you are looking for a large swap meet, go somewhere else. This is a very "locals" kind of place. Very small, less than a mile worth of walking (0.80 mile). Bathrooms are available right in the middle of the swap meet, next to a small building serving prepared/hot foods. Selection: Produce selection was very slim. Lots of tools, clothing, shoes, and garage sale type items. Considering its size, the variety was decent. You can find awesome deals amid the junk, you just have to keep an eye out. Prices: Prices here tend to be slightly below average which is nice. You can barter here more than at larger swap meets (prices aren't as fixed across vendors). There are things here that are overpriced however, so know what you are looking for and do research ahead of time so you know what you're comfortable paying. Admission: 50 cents. Hand stamps upon exiting if you wish to re-enter. Parking: Free parking in the back. The street leading up to the parking area is filled with vehicles for sale by private party. Getting to the parking lot can be a challenge with its one-street only access. There can be quite a bit of traffic if you go during peak hours. read more

Not really a good track record for originally going alot over the prior two years, but I guess deals do come 'round every once in a while. --- Original Review: LOL - Skip this place. Was bought out by RJ Canning in June 2010 and now they charge 50 cents to get in. Lame. I even got accused of shorting them one penny - LOL!!! I GAVE THEM THE SAME STACK OF TWEEKER CHANGE THEY MAKE AS CHANGE THAT THEY GAVE ME LAST TIME I WAS THERE! DOUBLE LOL WAS THAT I COUNTED IT BEFORE I GAVE IT TO THEM!!!! So that should tell ya - you're damned if you do, damned if you don't. I LOVE to go here when I am in the neighborhood and it's open. We leave an hour early if we are going near the the place so that we can stop. * Bigger than a couple of football/soccer fields * Plenty of FREE off parking * Old used stuff :-) as well as cheap new stuff :-( * Easy Freeway access and better signage than any of the bigger flea markets. Susan D's comments are true enough, if harsh, but what do you want from a flea market, valet parking and a red carpet? I have gone to better swap meets/flea markets that I like better in the Greater Los Angeles area [Saugus, Venice HS], and certainly in the world [Paris "Marshou Pus" or however you say "Market Flea" in French is HUGE and I liked all the small "Flo Marts" in Germany. Went on a Friday, so it may be much better on the weekends. Lots of old western antiques like wagon wheels and old farm equipment. Also a good place to score on Native American stuff. Bought a brand new torque wrench for $17, not bad. Plants, birds, jeans and socks here, one vendor selling new toys. A few folks selling stuff from their garage, or maybe even things they may have found. Large parking lot out in front. Free parking, admission is fifty cents. Open on Wed, Fri, Sat and Sun, 6-2PM. This swapmeet is NOT going to win awards. I have to agree with other reviewers that there is a lot of junk and I too would avoid the bathrooms.. but mixed in those vendors you will often find some deals. But you got to make a walk thru to find them. 50 cents won't break you so come early & give it a try. My husband and I have found some great tool items recently. It's really a small town junk sale and another poster mentioned it seemed like a landfill with a fence but it isn't that bad folks but then again it isn't for everyone either. read more

First things first DJB, the previous owners of that Swap Meet started charging .50 cents to enter way back in November of 2009. And its RG Canning , not RJ, and they took over the place on May 19th not June.They also own the Rose Bowl Flea Market and the Orange Show Swap Meet and the Ventura Flea Market. As any long time customer of the Beaumont Swap can tell you since RG Canning took over the place has been completeley redon, New flushable Restrooms, New Snack Bar operators, Swap Meet lot re sealed and painted, not to mention friendlier staff than before. As far as merchindise, that is not controlled by RG Canning, the vendors sell what they sell, its a Swap Meet for christ sake, of course ther are used thing, right along side all the new stuff and great produce. So DJB, if the .50 cents is to much for you than maybe you should not be shopping there to begain with. As for me and my family we will return there often, as well as all the other great events that RG Canning puts on. read more

Unless you're looking for old tools don't bother with this swapmeet at all. I ignored reviews and figured I'd try it out myself, the reviews are true, this swapmeet kind of sucks. You'll get through it in 30 minutes as it's not very big. The variety is just not there in vendors. Entrance is only 50 cents a person. The people complaining about paying 50 cents are ridiculous. It's 50 cents. Unless you need tools don't waste your time here. read more

Friends,Frogs, Fellow flea marketers- Beaumont 'Swap meet" or as I like to call it, "Swamp meet", operates wednesday's,friday's, saturday's and sunday's from 7am-2pm. Now typically, Wens/Sat/Sun are the days where you can find the most variety in terms of vendors.You got you're typically stuff, clothes and socks...phone cases... plants... Friday is a good day for anyone interested in kitsch/ 'odd' vintage (and I do mean odd). I have personally found many gems, as well as many duds. I know what you're thinking "isn't EBAY easier??" yes, it is easier but who has the time to be in a bidding war with some kid in finland? plus paypal??? who wants to deal w/that...If you're a book lover then this is the place for you! There are several vendors who sell books for under 50 cents! There are also some great deals on make-up! The Beaumont Outdoor Market is a great place to go for a day of shopping, There are many good deals to be found, and a variety of interesting items being sold. My wife and I enjoy taking the kids and walking around at the market. Ive been on Fridays and it is good, Sat and Sun are even better. Me and my wife have sold here as well, a few times. I have been going to this event for years and have seen it getting worse. The event since rgcanning swap meets bought is being fixed up on a weekly basis. We love the new restrooms for that alone I will pay 50 cents which the old owners charged also and gave us nothing. The event is clean all the equipment is new I look forward to going every week and sometime we go twice. lots of great buys especially in these tough times. We buy groceries including produce as well as all of hous hold items. It is much better. read more

I have found lots of old stuff there and made some money as well on Ebay. Last trip I bought a box of...(won't tell you what it is), and I sold a few items out of the box and made over $200. You can keep the swap meets with the new junk from China. I will take an old swap meet any old day! read more

We have a home in Desert Hot Springs with a pool.We got some amazing juice oranges here.Also we got a brand new lounger in good condition for $6.Also we got a great non stick grill for $18.It was in a box that had a bit of crushed corner but the grill works perfectly!Great experience for a retired Canadian couple! read more
