My friend recommended this restaurant since she had such a great time. It's definitely a fun and trendy speakeasy spot. Delicious Southern and Puerto Rican comfort foods and a live DJ playing hip hop music. This place is high energy atmosphere. Staff and service were good. I would definitely come back and try their brunch.

Great venue for good music great food and amazing vibes. I've been here a few time and I feel like every time is better than the one before. I'll be honest I had the chicken and waffles each time I came for an entree and they're delicious I will say the last time they were a little on the Cajun side but still good. The deviled eggs are ok, the mofongo is pretty good especially with the pickled onions. The vibe is amazing here it's like you don't want to leave. I'll be coming back again and again

If you're into old school Hip Hop and want a spot with great vibes and solid food, Beatstro in the Bronx is a must-visit. From the moment you walk in, you're hit with that 80s and 90s nostalgia--vinyl records, boom boxes, and classic posters line the walls, all paired with beautiful chandeliers that give the place a unique, stylish atmosphere. I ordered the Classic Mac, Coconut Shrimp, and the standout dish: the Beef Ribs ($27)--Caribbean braised with a charred oxtail crust, taro root purée, and collard greens. Everything was flavorful and well-prepared. The service was on point too. We didn't try any drinks this time, but we'll definitely be back for that. Whether you're there for the food, the music, or the vibe--Beatstro delivers.

I've had Beastro bookmarked for years, but because I'm never in The Bronx aside for Yankee games-- I decided it would have to wait until then. It was relatively empty when I arrived and initially we were going to sit outside because they had about ten seats out there, but changed our minds and went inside. Warning: the door is extremely heavy and you actually need to put force to get it open. Anywho, we were directed to the back where it was mostly empty. They had a DJ playing a mix of contemporary and 90s R&B and Rap. I think he had some excellent selections and it may have been the best part. Two waitresses came to assist us, and while they both friendly, they were both a little awkward in the beginning and the end. In the beginning we went with the mimosas, which was bottomless. However, instead of bringing the carafe, we just got one cup. We all then switched to the Sangria, where I asked if she could bring the entire carafe instead of one by one. The sangria was slightly watered down and was just okay. As far as the food, I ordered the steak and eggs, which comes with home fries. I also ordered a side of grits, which was not good. It was like it was cooked too long. The home fries were good but the eggs and steak were just okay. Toward the end when we were giving the bill, she literally came over almost ten times as we were finishing up for our cards-- it just was awkward and not the best practice to keep coming over and in very short intervals, she kept coming back for the check. The gratuity was included, so not sure what that was about. Overall, I liked the hip hop theme, the ambiance, but the food fell short. The hostess and security in front were cool and friendly but I just don't think I'd be back.

Stepping into the place it feels like you are walking into an 80's record store with old posters of Michael Jackson and records of different artists. You then, step into the restaurant with chandeliers and large hip hop murals and lighting which give it a club type of feel. The back wall had a wall of speakers. The bathroom has a large mural of Lisa left eye Lopez. My son loved the music which was great but a bit loud. There was hip hop in addition to R and B when we went for brunch Sunday. The food was good. We liked the taste of the Mofongo cups we had as an appetizer with its stewed chicken, pickled onions in a plantain cup. My parents and sister had the lobster roll which they ate. My son loved his burger and my churrasco and eggs were tasty. Drink wise, I had the blackout. I choose it because it was unusual in the it had charcoal, but it was a bit unbalanced more on the too sweet side. The waitstaff were helpful. One thing I did feel that needs to be updated is the AC as it got warmer as we were sitting eating our meal.

I've heard so much about this restaurant. I dined here on a weekday after 8pm. It wasn't crowded. The ambiance was chill, other than the boisterous lady at the bar who appeared to be in intoxicated. Upon entering the waitress gave us the option of a bar seat or table. We selected a table, but it was too cold where the tables are (in the back of the restaurant). So we elected to sit at the bar. The decor very impressive!! Service was great. The bartender was very attentive. She also was great when ordering, she was able to give us a few good selections on the menu. The food wasn't as impressive as the decor. The food was OK. I would definitely dine here again to try other selections on the menu. Give them a try!

This is my new happy hour spot. I LOVE the waitresses they have beautiful personalities. The drinks are cheap and strong. You can't ask for much more from a happy hour spot. I prefer to drink here the food is decent but not my favorite. Do yourself a favor and try to GUAVA margarita.

We went to Beatstro for Sunday Brunch to celebrate a birthday. They have brunch on Saturday and Sunday. The Saturday brunch is a Chill brunch without the DJ but the Sunday brunch is a party brunch with a DJ. When they say Party brunch thats exactly what it was. The music was LOUD we were shouting across the table just to have a conversation. I chose the unlimited Sangria. The Sangria was really good, not too sweet and they use a good quality wine. Since it was a large group the waitress put pitchers on the table. Some of the items we ordered was the devil eggs, chicken and waffles and a burger. The devil eggs was a little salty but had a nice firm texture. Chicken and waffles was well seasoned, crispy and they gave you a lot of chicken which was a plus. The burger was definitely fresh seasoned ground beef and the fries was a bit on the salty side but I like salt so I was okay with it. The waitress did an excellent job keeping up with the entire group of 12. She was attentive, she kept the drinks coming and our entrees came out within a reasonable time. The DJ was jamming with classic R&B and Hip Hop the crowd was moving and grooving to the beat.

Unfortunately I'm lying in bed with a stomach bug from this place. I would never return to this establishment again! The Ambiance is pretty cool except for the bathroom. It was really nasty and looks as if it went all day without being cleaned. The music was cool, we had a great server. Here's where things went left. It started with the drinks. We had a table of 5 and two of us had to send back our drinks because they were not what we asked for. Okay no big deal we thought, then the appetizers came out and they were very bland and lacked seasoning. Following the appetizers, we ordered more drinks with hopes of getting it right and this time we ended up sending 3 drinks back. They were all lemon drops and the bartender decided to use lime juice and some type of simple syrup because they ran out of lemon juice. It was disgusting. We gave up on the mixed drinks at this point. Our food eventually came out after a pretty long wait and 4 out of 5 of us couldn't finish our meals because it didn't taste good and the fish didn't seem to be fresh. At that point it was time to pack it up and leave because they clearly need a new set of bartenders and chef's. Or even better management that keeps tabs on what's being served to paying customers. I hate that this couldn't have been a positive review but I would hate for someone to go home feeling sick and bedridden for an entire day. Hopefully I'm well enough tomorrow and I can go back to work.

An ode to all things hip hop and r&b, Beatstro is a vibe and party as soon as you walk in. You first walk into what feels like a record shop, where old-school vinyls are on display. You enter the restaurant through curtains, where the music is on FULL blast. If you aren't sitting next to your date/spouse, etc, be prepared to not hear each other speak. For drinks, I ordered the Method Man-Hattan, which gave me an Old Fashioned feel. My girlfriend enjoyed her Unbelievable, which was their equivalent to a Moscow Mule. The Thick Thighs and Waffles might have been one of best chicken and waffles I've tasted. The chicken was crispy on the outside and tender inside, well-seasoned, and paired well with the strawberries and waffles. She enjoyed the Man Good Tres Golpes, which came with eggs, avocado, mangu, and amazing sausage. We ordered a side of bacon that was sweet from honey. We weren't impressed with the banana pudding, as it had way too much going on. The dulce de leche and sorbet ice cream overpowered the lone banana, so it wasn't a true pudding at all. For a Saturday brunch, it was busy but our server was on top of orders and always checked in with us throughout our stay.

A group of 5 of Us had reservations for Saturday brunch; upon arrival we were immediately seated! I really wanted to like this spot but, the food was kinda bland & the vibes were hummmm there were none :/ our waitress was nice & ensured our Mimosas/ Sangria jars were already filled!

Brunched with friends for the holidays! 90 minute bottomless mimosas or sangria. The sangria was delicious and strong. Decor and ambiance were chill and highlighted hip hop and r&b. The music was great as well. Our waitress was very attentive and very frequently refilling our drinks which I appreciated. The rum cake French toast was delicious and I loved the fresh fruit. My other friends ordered the boogie down burger which they said was pretty good. Finding parking was fairly easy and definitely recommend making a reservation.

Came to Beatstro on a Sunday during lunch and I gotta say this place does not disappoint! My friend had previously been to Beatstro and suggested we went. The moment we walked past the big black curtains, I knew I was going to love the vibe! The place was empty for a Sunday brunch, but the music and the ambience set the tone! I wanted to order a heavy plate (not brunch), but was told that they were only serving brunch... thankfully they were very accommodating so I still basically got what I wanted! I got the "steak and eggs" from the brunch menu, but I do not eat eggs so they asked me if I wanted to substitute that for extra home fries... I wanted regular French fries, and I asked if I could substitute my home fries for French fries, and they did... the steak was cooked nicely! And the "brunch" plate was a nice size! The server was extremely attentive and nice, which added to the experience! She made sure that if you got bottomless, your cup was never empty! She even suggested different items on the menu... I really wish I got her name because she needs a shout out and a promotion! :) The only downside is that they do not sell bottled water... but honestly, everything else was on point, so I am still giving Beatstro five stars... but please get bottled waters.
