Visited on a snowy evening for a great dinner. We have never been here before, but braved the weather for an early dinner. Love the vibe inside and the service was great. To start we had the baba ganoush which was so good with pomegranate seeds and some texture. The snap pea salad was fresh and also had some crunch. For dinner I had the shrimp dish which was sooooooo good! I loved the corn with the tomato sauce and greens. My husband had the branzino which he loved. For dessert it's awesome they support a close local business (Hoosier Mama Pie Company) so we tried one. The crust was yummy but the pie itself wasn't our fave. I'd try another kind next time. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone in the area, very good!

Beatnik is the perfect trendy date night spot. A lot of their items are easy to share so it could also be good for groups. We went for happy hour and enjoyed a couple of apps and drinks. I love that their happy hour goes until 7. Next time we will check out the bar in front, where they had cozy couches to enjoy a cocktail.

This place gets a lot of hate in the reviews but it's great. The food is great, the service is awesome, and there are comfy couches, and great decor. They have a skylight that is ornate. Definitely cost a lot to build this place up. It's a fusion of med and Asian foods. We came here on a Wednesday night, around 5:30pm. The place was almost empty but as we were leaving at 7 it was getting more busy. For food we got a lot, mostly to share with each other (2 adults and 1 child). We got the Salmon Crudo, which was so fresh, so delicious. Za'atar Fries, which were crunchy, and perfectly salted. We also got the chicken musakhan, which was delicious, charred, and came with a great sauce. We got a hummus and lamb meatball, it was very good. Finally we got the friend chicken bao. The taste was great with a spicy ish sauce. Nothing was too salty, or sour. It was all creamy and delicious. The drinks were tasty too. For dessert we got a Hoosier Pie Company Chocolate and Strawberry pie, it was very thick. This place allows kids but does not have a kids menu or kids drinks. It is kid friendly in a way. They did have an NA Pina Colada, which was also creamy, and cold, and good.

Went here for a belated Mother's Day's brunch with my friend. Love the ambiance. So rustic and so chic! We started with drinks. She had the Mama Vida and I had the Second Fiddle. Both drinks were very good. We decided to pick a dish and share. She had the Chicky Bao. It was very good. Not too spicy at all. I would preferred a little more of a kick. I ordered the Shakshuka with Merguez Sausage. I love the flavor of this dish. To finish our meal, we ordered a sticky bun. Buttery delicious with mounds of pecans!

Beatnik West loop made our Sunday Funday so special! First, the space is beautiful! So much greenery and it's a vibe! Who ever designed it needs to come do a room in my home. The food was very fresh and delicious! We had a party of 9 so a little bit of everything was ordered. The avocado spread and the double burger were my favorites! I wanted the whole Branzino Fish but the girls were keeping it cute so I stayed in line but please believe I'll be back soon for that baby! My cousin loved the octopus and hummus. For my drink I stuck to the El guapos and with the theme...it was fresh and tasty! The staff were all amazing! Def will be back soon! You know I enjoyed myself because this Yelper forgot to take a photo of her main dish!! Yikes in the best way!

We had another lovely brunch at Beatnik. The mezze board was a perfect starter for 2 of us but would make a great brunch for 1 person. My date loved her burger and crudo was light and fresh. Tasty cocktails and a comfortable vibe make this a favorite Sunday morning spot for us. Recommended

Cool vibe with the lighting, pillows and layered rugs. It was dim, which created a nice ambiance. The food was great. Meant for sharing, the plates are fairly generous. We were a group of 8 and ordered (3) Salmon Crudo, (1) Lamb Shoulder, (2) Mole Verde Gnocchi, (2) Baba Ghanoush, (1) Roasted Cauliflower and a couple of people ordered the burgers and fries. Nobody left hungry, but we weren't stuffed either. It was the perfect amount of food for 8 people. Our bill was about $300 but only included two $10 happy hour drinks and many things on the ticket were $10 due to the time. I can't imagine how big the bill would have been had it not been happy hour. I never thought I'd hear a club version of Sunglasses at Night, but here we are. Lol Just to note, it's exceptionally loud in here. We all had to shout or be really good at lip reading. Pretty ample street parking

I spent a weekend in Chicago on a girls trip and we were looking for somewhere to close our time before our flights. Beatnik caught our eye with their beautiful exterior. We came around 11 am and were easily able to get a table for brunch. Once you step inside you're transported to a beautiful garden with tons of plants and sky light. I wish my house looked like this. Not only was the decor amazing but the food was delicious too. I had the shaksuka which had excellent flavor and a good size. Our server was incredible too, very friendly & able to provide a great wine recommendation. Do not pass this place up for a great time!

I loved this place! It's a great vibe to go for date night or with the gals. This place is not for picky eaters; there is such a brilliant fusion of flavors and cuisines. I recommend this place to everyone who will listen. I recommend going early and also making a reservation. Service was a bit slow, and we had to wait longer than usual for some of our food and drinks, but they made sure to make it right and gave us those items for free.

    Baba Ganoush

Sub par service and I'm being nice. We came for restaurant week. Ordered the sticky bun and baba ganoush for our first course then the chicken and waffles and cheeseburger with a side of fries for the second course. Also a sprite and ginger ale. The baba ganoush came out first then the fries. Then 10 minutes later we finally received our drinks (that were $7 each btw). 25 minutes later we received the cheeseburger and chicken and waffles. Chicken was not seasoned at all. Just glazed. Eventually our waiter decided to come over to check on us to which I told him we never received our sticky bun. I saw him bring out 3 of them to a larger table (that sat down after us) and then went back to get ours. The table next to me sat down a half hour after us and we received our bill at the same time..just to put things in perspective. Overall, they won't be having me as a customer again

It is definitely unique, creative, and a massive differentiator from any other cocktail bar I've been to. Now, let's talk cocktails! The creativity of the interior extends into the menu. Unlike some places that just make variations of existing classics (except for items specifically so named, like the Old Fashioned or Espresso Martini), all of their cocktails are unique and interesting. Time for a punch card? I ordered the Maximillian the Imposter. While I'm not typically a fan of banana (except for banana bread), I thought I'd step out of my comfort zone, and I wanted to try something 'flaming'. Flaming it was! The preparation of the drink involved a surprising amount of fire. I initially thought this was just for show, but no, this translated into a noticeable smoky flavor. Beyond that, the drink was strong, not overly sweet, and an all-around delight. There was one bartender on the night I was here, and while it was busy, I was still able to get my drink in a reasonable amount of time. I also feel as though they have reasonable prices, especially considering the quality and the market rates. King of Cups gets busy, and for good reason: they are an all-around phenomenal place, from the drinks to the vibe, and everything in between. If you're someone who likes a seat rather than fighting through a crowd, get a reservation! See you there!

A guitarist sits somewhere against a brick wall and plays music lightly but energetically. Service is friendly from start to finish and smiles are on everyone's faces. The menu is pretty easy to understand. You can get a three-course meal, or you can get each entree à la carte. You have two fondue candles in front of you, one for the cheese and dessert, and the other for the oil. We chose the three-course meal, and it was delightful. We started with the cheese appetizer. You get a basket of bread and fruit and we chose the seasonal cheese to dip. The oil for our meat was then left to heat, and we received a massive platter of veggies and meats for our main course. We chose the option for all selections of meat and seafood. After trying all the meats, I would opt for the lobster and shrimp. You can also substitute the oil for a broth. I would like to try the broth for next time. In one of the shakers, Gejas makes their own meat spice mix. It's recommended to put on the meats and even the desserts. It's a mix of tangy and savory and was a great compliment to the meal. We then chose the seasonal dessert, a white chocolate with vanilla cookies. Fruit, marshmallows, and churros to dip. We were so full by the time dessert came, but we enjoyed a few bites and took it home. The three-course meal, with five types of meat, came with about 10 pieces of meat. It doesn't look like a lot of food, but it truly is, with the apps, veggies, etc, your stomach will be full when you walk out of here. They also start the entire course with a mixed salad (so technically it's a four-course meal). It was very fairly priced, as well. Initially looking at the prices, you may think it's expensive, but it truly is a value with the amount of food they serve. This was rated as most romatic restaurant in Chicago. Its ambiance gives you the romantic feel, the guitarist adds to the atmosphere, and the staff is professional and friendly. This really was a great place and we enjoyed our time and meal.

The silverware and dishes were works of art in and of themselves, but our table was scratched up considerably. I'd never been to Willow Room and liked that they had a four course dinner menu, with items I liked. I was able to make a reservation for a Saturday night at 8:15pm. PARKING Parking on Halsted on a Saturday night can be a nightmare, and it did take a minute to find street parking. North of the 1800 block is busier because there are several restaurants within a two block radius. Side streets are permit parking after 6pm. Meters on Halsted are $2.50/hr. ATMOSPHERE Willow Room was pretty packed. We had a reservation for 8:15pm and my party of two was seated right away. The restaurant features a full bar, dim lighting and is nice and roomy. They have banquette seating around the perimeter, in addition to tables in the middle. SERVICE Our server, who was very nice and accommodating during our dining experience, came by and gave us our menu's. I had already decided on the RW menu and after review, my friend was interested in the Beef Wellington (not on RW menu). Our server informed us that normally the whole table had to order off of the RW menu if one person does, but said she would check with the kitchen since this was the last day of RW. Luckily, we were able to proceed with ordering from different menu's. FOOD I ordered a raspberry Cosmopolitan. I'm a Riesling/Moscato girlie, but I tasted the Riesling and didn't like it. RW dinner was priced at $60. I ordered: First Course: Caesar Salad (Typical salad, was good) Second Course: Mussels (Tasted fine, came with a baguette) Third Course: Short Rib (Could've been slightly more tender and better seasoned. I've definitely had better. Wouldn't order again.) Fourth Course: Orange Ricotta Donuts (Donuts were very good. Three were served, a few more would have been more filling.) My friend ordered a glass of Pinot Noir and: Truffle Fries (Fries were very tasty. I would order again if I went back.) Beef Wellington (The breading was buttery and very good. The beef could've been more seasoned. I wouldn't order.) Key Lime Pie (Was not sweet and had no taste. When our server came back and saw it was uneaten, she offered to take it off the bill. It should be removed from the menu altogether.) The busboys and server were very attentive. Our water glasses were always filled. OVERALL The atmosphere was nice, our server was great. Of all the food we ordered, I would order the truffle fries and Cosmopolitan again. I did leave full and did take my leftover Short Rib to go. Main dishes needed more seasoning. I would dine here again and try a different menu (brunch/lunch), or Happy Hour if they offer it.

The Willow Room is in a great location and has plenty of indoor seating for large and small groups…read morealike. Service is always quick and friendly and the portion sizes here are perfect (not oversized or underwhelming). The drink menu is a little limited and expensive but you're paying for the nice atmosphere. There are a few seats outdoors but there isn't much of a view so it's actually preferable indoors here.
