We stayed in the Captain & Lizzie McCall Suite. It is simply stunning. The king bed was wonderfully comfortable and the furniture and decor was lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious chocolate chip cookies and milk too. Breakfast was yummy too and right on time. The coffee was strong and food arrived promptly (perhaps the bacon was a little dry- but otherwise very well executed). I appreciated their communication in the days approaching our stay. It has a huge Willow Tree in front, a pond with ducks, a gazebo with a beautiful garden area and pond with fish, and is just so well done. We watched deer in the morning while we ate our breakfast! Lisa was so nice and took good care of us! Cookies when we arrived, a handwritten note, truffles in our room. Super friendly and helpful when we arrived. Every detail was so wonderful. There is a pool also but it was closed due to the weather being too cold but I'm sure it's amazing in the summer. Parking is good also. The inn is not too far from downtown and they offer a delicious breakfast as well. We had apple cider crème brûlée and sweet potato hash with chicken apple sausage. Good coffee too! As much as I have been to deeply healing and naturally geothermic hot springs, I still enjoy a visit to Jackson Wellsprings every month or so. I live remotely and they offer a Tuesday night dance/soak experience that is really quite lovely. Sometimes the DJs are actually bad and I don't do the dance, I'll listen for about 20 mins before paying to enter. Sometimes the DJs are litty. The facilities are clearly 60+ years old and maintained to the absolute bare minimum, or so it appears. It doesn't seem like much deep cleaning/renovation goes on with bleach or other cleaning probably due to some eco friendly initiative to justify saving money and the planet all at once, yet the human experience is degraded. Standards differ in everyone. Sauna is nice. Steam room is nice. Big pool is nice and cool. Hot tub is often filled and relatively hot. Granted for the price of $15/4 hour session... it's now dependent on your fear of humans and the potential for their dirty to impact your experience. I'm a pretty reasonable person and still have desired standards to be met, hence this review and still attending despite a more degraded facility than one would want from a place designed for healing.

The burrata was very good and I loved (LOVED) my asparagus. Everything was flavorful and fresh - and who doesn't love homemade pasta. For dessert we got the strawberries and cream and the chocolate mousse. We shared both because who doesn't love strawberries with their chocolate mousse! We didn't get a pic of it but Randy got a drink similar to the one he got on our last visit but this one was grapefruit and very refreshing and delish. We sat on the patio again. It was warm when we first got there (5 pm) but definitely cooled down as time went on. Kyle was our server tonight. I'll start by saying you can't go wrong with any of the staff that serve or give refills or deliver the food (when they deliver it, they sometimes describe the dish and it's awesome). There are some dishes that are excellent (some things even sell out before the evening is over), but unfortunately, not all. The hostess is absolutely wonderful - she is charming and funny and really has a talent for making you feel welcome and appreciated for dining with them. Unfortunately, the service is really hit and miss. On my last visit, the waitress really didn't seem like she had time for us. She didn't take the time to explain in much detail about menu items or the wine list. She didn't participate in any banter with us or really make us feel welcome. She seemed rushed, which has not been my experience with service here in the past. My biggest concern, though, is about the efforts of the staff and kitchen to keep items allergen-free. The restaurant advertises itself as a place that is Celiac knowledgeable and friendly. We made it clear in our reservation and to the waitress when we sat down at the table that one member of our party had Celiac and needed to be strictly gluten free. All seemed well and we ordered two appetizers marked as gluten free on the menu. One of those appetizers was served with bread. After the food had been delivered, the waitress must have noticed the issue and offered to have the kitchen remake the dish. We agreed (she left the original plate on the table and in the end we were only charged for one, so all good). The re-made dish was brought out, with bread on the side. There should not have been bread at all, it was very confusing. All in all I would return one more time and hope to have a different experience, but if that experience was the same as my recent one, I likely would not return.

And back in the Summer of 2011, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) hosted several performances here after the Angus Bowmer theater was suddenly closed due to structural issues.
