I am so glad we found this place, even if it was for one night only. It was so worth it. The owners live on site, so they take care of this place and they are super nice and helpful with everything. We even sat with them at night down by the river at the covered fire pit. Wow! It was like sitting with family or old friends. The service is great... towels and soap for the shower... you have an ice bucket, a mini fridge, coffee maker and a microwave. The TV is on the wall and has DISH network. You see a lot of nature by the river. The elk are HUGE... and just take over... LOL. If you don't need a fancy place to stay, but want a down home friendly motel... this is the place. And the pool.... Super clean. The owners take pride in their establishment and it shows. We would stay again.

I know it's difficult to wash the outside of the windows but maybe a couple of times a year wipe off some of the spiderwebs. Other than that the bed was very comfortable, but I never saw a Roku TV where you need a code to add your own apps. The notes tell you to take the garbage out but don't tell you what cabin it's near. The location is good and I would still come here now that I know more about it.

The kitchen is spacious and stocked with high quality utensils and appliances, but also offers plastic cups, bowls, plates, etc. for popcorn and the children. There are two full bathrooms with plush, white towels. The master bedroom has a comfortable, king-sized bed, plenty of dresser and closet space, a gas fire place, a wet bar, extra large screen HD TV, vaulted ceilings, and sliding glass and screen doors on both sides of the room, leading out to a gazebo on one side and an 8 person hot tub on the other. The other bedroom on the main floor has a queen bed and tasteful decor, with plenty of closet and drawer space. The dining room table comfortably seats 8 to 10 and the living room is warm and cozy, featuring another huge HD TV and gas fireplace. There is a washing machine and dryer and the stairs lead up to a loft which can comfortably sleep 4 to 6 kids. There's plenty of room for them to play, as well as, view videos. From the loft is a pathway leading to a lovely outdoor viewing area! You simply cannot beat the views of the Smoky Mountains from any side of this house! Our Aunt stayed in one of the two adjoining apartment units and she not only raved about the fact that she too had a washer and dryer, but that she also had a gas fireplace, large flatscreen TV, adjoining door to our unit (which can be used optionally) -AND- that her view was also astonishing. There are many places to sightsee and enjoy river views, most notably hiking short to moderate length distances to see local waterfalls. And know this - though I'm sure you'll come with the plan to unplug or at least use electronic devices less frequently than usual, the guest wi-fi works great, even in these mountains, and the TVs feature many viewing options. Yep! We'll be back for sure.

They refused to give me a room as we live "to close to the hotel." They said they have a 75 mile policy but I dont see that on their website or on your listing. Obviously I would have booked elsewhere. I was humiliated and my grandkids were crushed as they had been looking forward to this trip for over a week. How is this possible?? im almost 60 and I have never in my life heard of this happening. I am considering a civil suit. They said "we have a DRUG PROBLEM here and dont allow locals to stay with us" No one conveyed this to us when we booked or confirmed our reservation and they had all our info. BAD BUSINESS.

The entire night I kept thinking "this is how horror movies start!" Needless to say, I did not get…read moremuch sleep. We booked a bed & breakfast package to take our son to the polar express last December. When we got there, no one was around, but there was a ziplock bag with an envelope pinned to a post with my name on it. In the envelope was a letter explaining that we were the only guests that night and the owners were out of town too, and that there would be no breakfast. We were told our room number and that the key would be in the room. We found the room under the front porch. Walked in to find that we were in the basement with polished rock walls and floors. The floors all sloped down and to the back of the room. There was no key to be found anywhere. We left some luggage in the room, but nothing valuable since we could not lock the door, and left for the polar express. We called the owner and left a message explaining our issues, but did not get a reply. We returned from our excursion late in the rain to a completely dark facility, except for our room. With no way to lock the door, because we had no key, I was very concerned for the safety of my family. I had an empty coke can, so I placed it in front of the door to at least alert me if someone tried to come in. Neither my wife nor I got much sleep. By 6am, we looked at each other and decided just to go home since there was no breakfast anyway. We also NEVER got any sort of credit for the lack of breakfast, but were still charged the full amount. This was the WORST hotel experience I have ever had and feel lucky that I am alive to tell the story. Unless you want the full "Cabin In The Woods" type experience, DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
