Have made so many precious memories of our times together. Pictures of the great grandkids growing from year to year. Taking turns making meals & the fun & of exchanging gifts. The dirty Santa gift swap. Wouldn't trade it for anything. Jeanette is a fantastic hostess. Couldnt be more helpful. Have come to regard her as a friend. Cabins are the best. Will continue as long as we are physically able. Leaving today for a rare 3 night stay on a summer vacation at cabin #3. Can't wait. Highly recommend to all.

We wish we could buy one for ourselves lol. The views aren't substantial, but the location was prime for reaching all of our destinations easily. This layout and floor plan easily accommodated all of us comfortably. If you are worried about space, don't even sweat it. I bet it could fit double with zero issues. All the amenities worked and Jeanette is so timely in responses and getting our needs met. There is something for everyone, seriously. The only bad thing you could possibly say is that the roads to get into the cabins is a bit confusing and a bit technical to drive with a full size truck and trailer. However, once you're in, you just hate to leave. I found at the end of every long day of riding, I was so happy to get to come home to Wildflower cabin #1 as my home. We checked in with friends who rented another cabin #7 and they raved about it as well. Look no further for your family lodging needs, this is the place you are looking for! =)

Loved the two separate bedrooms and the special little loft area that served as a third bedroom for our youngest. The unit was clean, cozy, super log cabin like, had great Wifi and TVs, a washer and dryer and little kitchen and bathroom with a tub. Great front porch and a pull out couch if needed. Plenty of seating. It was super private yet close to all things like grocery stores and restaurants. Close enough to the other cabins but still gave each family space. The biggest house worked great for everyone to get together and eat together. AC worked great. Great little grill and fire wood and a fire pit. So quiet. Host was awesome and super at giving us ideas for where to go and what to do and eat. Highly recommend. Great little town and amazing cabins. Well done! Thanks for giving us a chance to reconnect and refresh in a perfect home away from home. Hope to be back.

If you are looking for a great cabin getaway in Franklin, North Carolina, look no further than…read morethe Bearfoot Retreat which I kept calling Bear Naked Retreat! Lol I don't know about you but when I am looking for vacation accommodations, I look at the following: price, location, space, and entertainment. First, let's talk about pricing of this place. If you go during the weekdays, it will cost you $144 a night and $170 on the weekends. There is also a $175 cleaning fee and $65 service fee. Since the place is pretty spacious, I can see why they would charge $175 cleaning fee. As for the service fee, according to them the purpose of the fee is ," This helps us run our platform and offer services like 24/7 support on your trip." This Bearfoot cabin is located in the quaint little town of Franklin, North Carolina. My family and I had wanted to be in the woods but not too isolated where we can't go grab food or drinks at local diner or grocery store. So it was nice to be in woods but miles within civilization! This cabin is three bedroom on the main floor but there is a spacious basement with a big bunkbed. There basement has a shelf full of books and games along with a ping ping table and piano. There's a six man hot tub off through the basement door. There were 8 of us and we had plenty of space to hang out with each other but also enough space to just " retreat" if we had wanted to. One of the best things about this place is the board games, ping ping table, piano, library, and hottub to entertain everyone. There's also a cool little bar area where you can mix drinks and then take it out to the big porch overlooking a beautiful mountain view. There's rocking chairs and a grill on the porch as well. So if you are looking for a mountain retreat, grab some friends and family and head to the Bearfoot Retreat! Don't worry about the beers too much because we didn't see any! Just don't leave amd food outside in the trash, just in case you don't get aby unwelcome visitors!

We continued to follow them the next few years on some of their adventures and actually got to support them for a day when they did a thru hike of the Ice Age Trail in Wisconsin. Their hostel is such a warm and comfortable space, and they are such gracious hosts. They shuttled us around town when we needed it, they told us all about the area, gave great suggestions of places to see, and they even made arrangements for me with a local fly fishing guide! This was such a great stop on our journey and Franklin is such a cool area with lots to do. When talking to them about why they started a hostel, they said they wanted to support the hiking community and wanted to make a hostel that checked all of the boxes of things they were looking for in a hostel through the eyes of a thru hiker. We are not thru hikers but I think they have accomplished that and then some!

During hiking season they provide an amazing breakfast for the hikers who stay.
