Burnt Ends, baked beans and deep fried corn on the cob was absolutely delicious! Their food truck was at Encore at Eastmark on October 10th.

This food truck was super overpriced for the portions they give and the flavor was just okay. Waste of money.

I can't really pick a favorite meat but maybe it's between the turkey and the brisket. The Texas twinkies... my boyfriend is OBSESSED. I buy them to surprise him with when I want to make his day. The service is prompt, girls could use a little more enthusiasm, I get it, you're at work. But the poker face makes you feel like it's definitely a transaction and not an experience. The restaurant itself is quaint but very cute and space is utilized nicely. I did expect my turkey sandwich to come with the white bear sauce as it's pictured and advertised with. Came with barbecue instead, I was sad lol.

The place wasn't crowded, but did have plenty of people inside either waiting for orders or eating at some of the handful of tables. I looked at the big menu display screens and then placed my order at the counter with the nice woman who works there. I had the brisket plate with chili and corn bread as my sides. The brisket (some fatty, some lean so I could try their idea of both) was cooked well and had a good smoke ring. The smoke flavor wasn't as strong as I prefer, but different people have different ideas and less is more when you're cooking for a crowd, so I respect that. Their barbecue sauce (the red one -- I don't put yellow sauce on brisket -- had a good flavor that complemented the brisket's flavor rather than overpowering it.) As for the sides, the chili was OK, but not something that I would order again. I like chili and was curious. Curiosity satisfied. The corn bread was moist and that middle-of-the-road between sweet and savory that is common in much of Texas (at least the parts I have visited). I like mine a little more sweet, but, like the brisket, I am a believer in getting the texture right first. Be aware if you are a fan of the sweet corn breads.

There were three of us in our party, and we were seated inside. The wait was 10 minutes. They have seating outside to wait. Metzy took care of us from start to finish and her service was completely on point, friendly, and fast without ever feeling rushed. We ordered drinks, their famous chili, and burgers, and everything came out incredibly fast considering how packed the place was. The food was awesome. The chili was flavorful and hearty, a must try, the burgers were cooked perfectly and loaded with taste, and the beers were ice cold, exactly what you want on a busy weekend outing. For a spot that's this popular on a Saturday, the combination of quick service and great food really stood out. Given the rating we'd seen beforehand, we were pleasantly surprised; maybe it was our lucky day, but based on this visit, Tortilla Flat Salon deserves a much higher score. We'll definitely be back and will happily recommend it to friends and family.

I had my heart set on the potato salad, and I was delighted to grab the last one. They were out of the macaroni salad, or I would have had both. A reason to return! I wasn't very hungry for a sandwich, so it was just a side for me kind of visit but my cousin ordered the Italian sandwich. Though I did inquire about the California veggie sandwich for next that that sounded delightful! The sandwich prices were very reasonable too. Love the ability to do a whole or half as I tend to like smaller portions. This is a locally owned business and both my cousin and myself chatted with the owner Angie who prepared the food. She actually remembered me, which I was totally shocked! Love that small town feel, and it always makes you feel special to be recognized as a regular. Now to visit more to become that regular! I'll definitely be back as the potato salad was as great as I recall. Not too overpowered by mustard, and just the right amount of tang. Plus an added bonus of black olives - my fav! If you are local or visiting Apache Junction, make sure to check this place out. The owner is very friendly and service has always been great.

She engaged in conversation throughout our visit and made us feel so welcome. I enjoyed this because sometimes when it is just 1 person working, they only focus on fulfilling the order and not the experience the customer has. I ordered an Italian Sandwich ($8.99) and was very happy with the size/quality for the price. They serve Boars Head lunch meats which I prefer on the rare occasion I eat sandwich meat. The toppings and bread were fresh and added to the overall sandwich enjoyment. The location felt open and well lit. There was a few seating options inside as well as outside seating. I enjoyed the overall atmosphere and experience of the Sandwich Shoppe. I would definitely recommend to someone and come back myself!
