I love this place! The beer is incredible! Not only are the drinks good but they also have events that go on as well, like comedy shows! They have such good beer, a hard root beer which is insanely good and even an ipa milkshake that is phenomenal! Prices are so affordable too! The food they have on site is amazing, and filling! Definitely come check this place out!

Cute brewery. Can probably accommodate approximate 30-50 ppl at once. Beer selection is limited. They have hard seltzer. My husband insisted to come back because in 2017 we came here for a great beer (something like bear cookie stout?) and we got a growler for that reason. We have not come again since then (and then you know, Covid happens..).. we were in Carlsbad today and it's not far to come by. So we stopped at here. I don't remember anything about it but it's a comfortable place to sit down and hang out. The Ginger's island beer tasted weird. I do not like it. Hence it's not 5 star but 4..

Brewery in a odd part of town... didn't look like it belong but the place is still pretty cool inside. It's your typical brewery. Dog friendly! Met some of the nicest people here. Staff was really friendly too. But the beers were just okay. I was able to try several before just deciding on the hazy. Which wasn't anything too special.

My friend and I came in on a Friday night. We had originally thought about going to belching beaver but we decided to try bear roots instead and I'm so glad we did! The place is awesome, it has a lodge-ey feel to it. Mostly everything is wood and they have lots of greenery. They also have a really cool separate room with a tv for large parties which is super cool! The staff is sooo friendly! I honestly felt like they love their job and genuinely like interacting with their customers- and thanks to them I found my new favorite beer. Thanks bear roots! :)

If you shake a stick within a mile of the hop highway, you'll likely hit a brewery. Bear Roots Brewing certainly fits that bill. More than just another brewery in Vista, though, Bear Roots was the subject of a very specific craving on a random Saturday night. Some time before our visit here, my partner in crime & I had tried their Bear Cookie (Chocolate Peanut Butter Stout) at a beer festival. Absolutely delicious. It left an impression. & a desire to have more. So it was time to do something about that. Located at the end of strip mall, parking wasn't hard to find. Walking in, it was maybe 1/2 full inside & had a good, jovial vibe. The beertender was friendly & welcoming. Sidling up to the bar, we ordered the requisite Bear Cookie, & a flight of their other beers I hadn't yet tried. The Bear Cookie was fantastic, as before. The flight of mostly IPA's was also really solid. My Untappd ratings for the beers I've had here say I really like their stuff. While sipping & savoring our beers, we surveyed the place from the bar. Along with tables & barrels, there's a way too comfy couch & a pool table. It just feels like a nice spot to hang out, relax, & have a few beers. & if drinking good beers gets you ambitious enough to try making good beers, there's a home brew shop in the corner. I'm liking Bear Roots Brewing & I'm sure I'll find my way back here. The Bear Cookie alone would be good enough reason for a return. But there's also plenty of other good beers here too & the taproom/ bar space is a great place to enjoy those beers.

Great to lace! We just discovered this beauty and OMG their Tiny Tim is outstanding!!!! Playoffs and the house dogs made us feel at home.

This is becoming one of my favorite breweries. I would come here everyday but I kinda like my liver. The space has really evolved from mostly selling brewing equipment to adding more places to sit, a pool table, games, and an outside patio. Decorated in raw wood, it's a casual, hang out and chill brewery. They offer a great variety of beer and one if the smoothest, creamiest stouts around. Their Bear Cookie - chocolate, peanut butter Stout on nitro - is equal to if not better than Belching Beaver's Peanut Butter stout. Stouts are my drink of choice and I'm extremely discerning aka picky about the beers I drink. Marisco's food truck is there everyday. Their $2 fish tacos are the bomb! For a few bucks you get a good meal that complements your brew. The only negatives: a single bathroom, limited parking, and the music is really loud.

Wowza!!!!!! My attempt to try all the cool new breweries in Cali has ended, but by delightful demand! Bear Roots Pale is my #1 beer now. Solsource Session is #2. I'm in love, aside from the pretty blonde beside me. Short and sweet.

Loving this place! Great place to stop in for happy hour. Original beers, original ideas, pool table, couch, loyalists memberships, swag, oh my! Ben here a couple of times now and here's what I've found: - I have had great conversation, - friendly beer tenders, - they have 2 tv's, - out door seating, - you can rent the place out for team building, which can include catered food. - rustic woodsy feel - not pretentious, only cool people here - parking is not a problem - I've seen dogs here - great stout selection - great IPA selection - snack food is available - growlers available for take home - clean restroom

Awesome brewery in Vista! They also sell supplies if you are interested in brewing your own beer. Friendly bartender. Television. Chill place to unwind & grab a, or a few, great beers. Bear Cookie (Chocolate Peanut Butter Stout): Oh yeah! A nice balance of chocolate & peanut butter (sometimes when places make this type of stout, they down play the peanut butter which I hate!) Pumpkin Carriage (Pumpkin Ale): Like a liquid pumpkin pie!

This is a cool local brewery that should be supported. I believe that a food truck is outside because they don't have a kitchen. They have great beer selections and even some slushy thingy mix. I got several to go beers cause they be that good.

My husband and I were consistently blown away throughout the meal. We had a few cocktails (one was the verde) and all of them were exceptionally crafted, balanced and well priced. What really shocked us was how good the food was. These were chef driven dishes with phenomenal flavor profiles and execution. Genuinely was blown away by the charred broccoli and the cabbage dish. I would venture to say I preferred the broccoli dish here than to somewhere like Campfire. On that final note, I'll say we typically go to State street or Encinitas/Solana/Oceanside for our date nights but please, give this place a try. They were so so good! 10/10 from two vegetarians

I parked in the garage that's closest (shared with apartments). Prices were reasonable, food was pretty good, beer tasted like to was supposed to. What could have made it better? The service. It was slow and not super pleasant. It didn't seem too busy anywhere in the place so I'm not sure what the delays were. Maybe the server was new, but she didn't seem too happy and forgot my drink. When she finally came back to check on us she asked if I would like to order a drink (umm, I just want to beer that I ordered ten minutes ago, please). I'd go again if others chose to meet up there... and just hope for the best.

Just wanted to write this review to say a BIG THANK YOU to Draft Republic in SM for having a…read morespeakeasy pop-up for the movie, Wicked. I'm a huge Wicked fan and was excited to see this event advertised on Yelp. This restaurant was the only one in North County I can think of that acknowledged the movie when it was about to be in theaters. First of all, it was easy to get to based on my GPS but kind of challenging to find their parking lot. I ended up finding a 2-hour parking on N. City Drive which was in walking distance. All I was thinking of while walking up to Draft Republic is that this place is massive. Inside, the hostesses verbally instructed me where to go...came across bowling...arcade games...sports on tvs on my way. Behind the curtains, I entered the room in awe. Draft Republic really went ALL OUT!! The Wicked witchy vibe was sooo magical. I loved the beautifuuul Elphaba/Glinda decorations, cleverly creative themed menu option names, actual movie playing in the background, and the take-home momentos. Nick and staff were super wickedly friendly too. The Wicked Bites, Grimmerie Shots and Wickedest Cocktails were all FANTASTIC!!! I definitely tasted Draft Republic's wickedness. I appreciated everything about this experience....well well done. What a WICKED TIME! I hope there are more speakeasy pop-ups in the near future :-)

I want to start by saying that for whatever my opinion matters (and it should matter very little),…read morethis is just how I came away feeling about this place. Because Draft Republic is a rough place to quantify. The food is pretty good; if going off that alone, this place would easily be four stars in my eyes. But, it's not ... Draft Republic is trying to be a bit closer to like a mini Dave & Buster's (a place I have come pretty close to loathing). With an arcade, a bowling alley, a golfing simulator, a full bar, pretty extensive menu, good music, and a fantastic staff, they really have a lot going for them with a little something to make anyone happy. My own issue deals solely with the cost. Came here with my son, all we did was eat two entrees and an appetizer between us, and did nothing else. With drink and after tax and tip, the cost was well over $90. No games, no play, just burgers (plus fries and poke tacos) for two, costs as much as many Californian's net after a full day of work. When you're used to feeding the whole family for about half as much when going out (or a little more when eating sushi), that price was a bit rough. Still, the food is very good. My son and I each ate The Draft Republic Burger. It was perfectly cooked, juicy, very flavorful, and the toppings were high quality. The fries were crisp and salted well. And the side salad wasn't too bad. Both of us ate our entrees and gave it high marks. We had started with the Tres Poke Tacos, where the Tuna was very tasty, steeped in a flavorful marinade, and felt nice and fresh. Definitely a good starter. And the restaurant itself is gorgeous. A lot of space, beautifully furnished, kind of industrial meets art deco with some new age greenery architecture thrown in. I like it a lot. But, as an aging Gen-X'er, who used to go to arcades back in the day, and hates what new arcades have become, the amenities are under appreciated by me. All of that pads the price tag a bit out of what I am willing to pay just for dinner. Which may not be fair to Draft Republic, but that's where it left me.

Inexplicably, my kids love beavers, and so when we were staying in Carlsbad for the night and looking for a place to eat, how could we not visit a place called Belching Beaver? We couldn't not! And so we did. It turns out, Belching Beaver is a very family-friendly brewery, with lots of arcade games, lawn games, and an extremely laid-back atmosphere. I wasn't going to get a beer, but then I saw that the brewery did a collaboration with the Deftones to create an IPA called Phantom Bride. I had to get a pint. Chino Moreno made me do it! It was citrusy and refreshing, and just the thing to enjoy while sitting on the outdoor picnic tables. Belching Beaver offers your average pub food. My kids got chicken tenders and fries, and mac and cheese with fries. I got a poke bowl, which sounds like a risky choice at a brewery, but it was actually really good and fresh! Not too saucy, either. We also got the carne asada 980 Nachos, which are huge and come on a baking sheet. Plenty enough to share! This place is tucked away in what looks like an office plaza.
