While we wanted space, we also didn't want to be the only campers for miles. We decided to go to dingmans campground in hopes that they would have a space available for my group. The two young ladies at the front desk of the office were so welcoming, kind, and accommodating. They had a few spots open (the campground is huge) we stood at lot 79.. which was a short walk to the river and close to two separate bathe houses. The campsites are decently spaced from each other, but I do advise you ask employees which lots have more space in between them, because some are more private then others. Most importantly the bathrooms and showers were kept clean, were moderately new, and always had toilet paper and hand soap. Alcohol is prohibited, the site is dog friendly, located an hour and a half from NYC, and surrounded by trails and and water activities. Only negative was that the river was closed from swimming because of high levels of bacteria as a result of the storm that the north east got hit by a couple days prior to our stay, which is not the fault of the campground. We plan on going back once more before the end of summer :)

This was my 2nd stay at Dingmans. We really liked it the last time and were excited to come back…read more First, they have an excellent camp store, entrance area, beautiful well spaced sites, river access and great services, like wood delivery. All those parts are fantastic. There were a few cons. First, there is zero cell service at the park. While I know it's not the camps fault, it makes communication very difficult. The store/check-in area has Wi-Fi, which causes people to congregate there and clutters up parking, etc. A few nicely placed Wi-Fi zones would really help. There are not enough bathrooms overall. The folks in the no amenity areas need a functioning bathroom. The Porta pot is disgustingly, so they walk to one of two bathrooms. There are 3 toilets and 2 shower stalls, per gender. This is not enough for all the use. This was evidenced this weekend as the septic system filled and the restrooms was closed from 6pm Sat until 7:30 am Sun when the poop truck showed up to pump it out. There is nothing like being woken up by a poop truck running next to your tent listening to the pump. Everyone has the right to use the bathroom however there are just not enough functioning facilities for the value of people in all the sites Finally, my group of 8 reserved 3 sites. We all spaced out and followed quiet times. The 2 groups surrounding us must have had 6 tents each on their sites. Their kids were unattended, playing badminton on the roads, football in the sites and up till 11:30 yelling and blasting music. No one cared. Because there's no Internet, it was like a parade of cars and headlights throughout the night for people to go up to the office. You knew this was happening because they had to yell at everyone in their site that they were going up to the office to use the Internet quick. I think this camp has so much potential. If they could just make some of these improvements, it would be a complete game changer. Beautiful camp, excellent hosts around the office, but just needs a little more attention in some of the more 'necessary' areas.

The people are genuine, friendly, welcoming, and go out of their way to make you feel like part of their family. Being first time visitors, the owner and son escorted us to our camp site and helped with parking in the best spot on our site - they would have even backed/parked my RV for me, if needed! The pool is beautiful and well maintained - the bathrooms, common areas, and snack area/convenience store are clean and well stocked. The fellow camp kids were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and incredibly kind to invite our kids along for daily adventures/games. The lake was peaceful and so much fun as we watched our kids catch and release an abundance of fish! Our dog loved the walks and scenery as well. The landscaping is beautifully maintained as well - the groundskeeper was out watering plants and keeping things looking beautiful - you can tell he has a lot of pride in his work by watching him care for the grounds. He even made sure to point out a massive frog hopping around to my kids since he figured they'd get a kick out of it - and they sure did! We felt like we have a private piece of heaven on earth while still having access to all the beautiful amenities that come with camping! This place is very special since it's not a far drive for us but just enough "removed" from our day-to-day hustle to feel like a true vacation spot. The views - no matter which direction you look - are magical. The sunrise and sunset are unmatched. While we were only at Harmony Ridge for a quick weekend trip, it felt like time slowed down and we could enjoy every minute of our stay. We were already booking out next trip as we packed up!! Looking forward to many return visits to this beautiful campground.

I was taken aback at the size of the foot print and acrage here. Its HUGE and very hilly. Its very spread out. We came for one night to check it out and it was a Thursday so not much going on, which was expected. The pool was nice and clean, however closed early. There was little to no cell phone signal (AT&T or Verizon) or Wifi which needs to be addressed as it is a safety issue. The overall infrastructure is there but needs some work. There were many old seaonals that looked abandoned and run down and campers that needed to junked. THe store was nice and had a cool lounge area attached. The pavillion was also nice and close to where the bon fires are held. Our RV site was easy to pull into and hookup which was appreciated. The staff were friendly. I would come back but on a weekend to see more people and activities.

Campsite (3/5): These are a bit stacked on top of each other but our group had two next to each other so it didn't impact us too much. Ambiance (4/5): These campsites are right on the water which is absolutely stunning! You really feel like you're in nature, but there is a major road near the top campsites and even by the water you can hear road noise. There was a huge group at the top which partied into the night though we're up late anyhow and it was no issue for us. Consider earplugs if you're not like us. Bathrooms (4/5): These were relatively clean for a campground bathroom. Minus a star here because on the last day the women's room was out of order -- but I believe it was due to another guest, as a member of our party heard someone say "oh no it's not flushing!" TL;DR: Great for those late-into-the-night campers. If you stay here make sure you get a waterfront spot.

The employees working there were not helpful at all. After we were dropped off at the launch point, one employee gave a quick safety speech and then disappeared. No one helped us tie our tubes together or navigate the steep drop-off with our tubes to get into the water, which was extremely slippery and rocky. We were told the float would take 2-2.5 hours. This was wildly inaccurate. It took us an hour to float from the drop-off point back to camp. When we previously did the trip from Barryville, the float was much longer. For what we paid, this was a complete waste of money. Then, when we reached the ending point around 4 p.m., we were harassed by three teenage employees who were yelling at us and demanding that we bring up our tubes immediately. There was no one else going out with those tubes at that time, and we simply wanted to sit and relax for a few minutes since the float had been so short. The employees were unnecessarily rude and nasty about it. I feel bad for the people who paid to camp out on this site. It was pathetically small and claustrophobic. Do yourself a favor and book a float trip with another company. After this experience, I would not return to or recommend Kittatinny Canoes at either base camp.
