The stay was fine, a solid three stars. I added a star for the ease and responsiveness of the bear camp team. The cabin was comfortable enough- there are several different levels of floor so lots of trip hazards, some doors that don't close great, and the location is interesting. I wouldn't call it quiet- for our stay a neighbor was out shooting most nights and on the other side is a rooster that crows each morning. The beds were very comfortable. The water is extremely sulfurous- I would plan on brushing your teeth with bottled water. We were mostly at the cabin only to sleep and it was great for that. It is very accessible to the greater pigeon forge area. Again, the Bear Camp folks were great, answered our questions, and were very responsive so overall definitely positive. I would consider staying with Bear Camp again, maybe not in this particular cabin. read more

This is the second time we have stayed in Ivy's Cottage, and we have decided we will return annually. This is such a perfect get away for couples/ small families. I have recommended these cabins to many many friends not only because of the prices, but because of the atmosphere Bear Camp provides. The cabins are very well maintained, creekside, and tucked away in the coziest TN valley I've ever been to. I hated leaving, but look foward to returning. Make sure you visit the Our Place bookstore/ coffee shop if you stay in the area!! The staff is super friendly, and they will help you find exactly what you are looking for in the astonishing amount of new and pre-loved books they have! I got the box set of the original Harry Potter Series- and I CANNOT WAIT to sip my Smokey Mountian coffee and read each and every one of them!!! read more

I booked "Alone at last" by Bear Camp cabins as a peaceful getaway to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday. She is a recent cancer survivor who underwent four surgeries in six months, and I wanted to do something meaningful and restorative for her. We drove 13 hours expecting a secluded, comfortable retreat, but upon arriving late at night, we were deeply disappointed by the condition of the property. Parking was extremely difficult, as the designated area was little more than a narrow shoulder. Upon entering the cabin, we were immediately met with a strong, unpleasant odor. Although exhausted from the drive, we had hoped to relax in the hot tub before going to bed. Unfortunately, the hot tub was cold, the steps were rotted, and the cover was filthy and secured with a small rope. I also had to install the breaker myself just to restore power. Inside the cabin, the doors leading to the deck would not close properly and required force to shut. Attempting to unwind, we tried to watch television, but the internet was extremely slow. The TV was mounted far too high above a non-operational fireplace that was clearly marked not to be used. The décor appeared mismatched and poorly maintained, with used plastic plants and clutter throughout. The mantel was cluttered with exposed electrical boxes, speakers, and tangled wiring, and the television had no local channels. When we went to bed, the mattress was extremely uncomfortable and felt very old. While we understand that a cabin setting comes with some natural sounds, the noise level was unacceptable. The downstairs toilet ran continuously throughout the night, the structure creaked loudly as wooden planks shifted, and rodents could be heard moving within the walls. Wind noise made it feel as though we were in a tent, and there was constant noise from Gatlinburg, including loud engines and late-night activity. Additionally, the windows had no blinds, allowing light pollution to flood the bedroom all night. We were unable to sleep at all, and once the sun rose, there was no relief from the brightness. The following morning, we contacted the management company but were informed that the manager, Brittany, would be unavailable for five days. My wife attempted to make coffee, only to find there was not even enough coffee provided for a single cup. In daylight, the cabin's condition was even more troubling. The shower was so unsanitary that we had to wear shoes while using it. There was extensive water damage and warping throughout the floors. Despite the listing, the cabin was not secluded--other cabins were very close by--and with no blinds upstairs or on the deck doors, there was no privacy. The pool table cues were all warped, the rugs were heavily soiled and long overdue for replacement, and we found rodent droppings throughout the cabin, including on the couch. As a result, my wife spent her 60th birthday in the car as we drove back home. We continued reaching out to the management company and were again told that Brittany would contact us. After five days of follow-up calls, she finally spoke with me. I requested a refund for two of the three nights we did not stay. This request was denied, with the explanation that we did not give her the opportunity to remedy the issues. Many of the problems we raised--such as the lack of blinds on thin windows--were dismissed as "owner preferences," leaving no reasonable path for resolution. Based on our experience, I strongly advise against staying at this property. The only thing more disappointing than the cabin's deplorable condition was the management's dismissive and unprofessional attitude toward their guests. read more

I am writing to formally express our dissatisfaction with our recent experience at **Legend Crest Lodge**, which began even before our arrival and continued throughout our stay. On Friday evening, we called to book a cabin for Saturday morning. During that call, we were informed that same-day or next-day reservations could not be made over the phone for the specific cabin we wanted, and that we would need to be physically present to reserve it in person. This was extremely frustrating and inconvenient, especially since we were traveling from out of state. In an effort to resolve this, we even offered to pay for the previous night--despite not being there--simply so we could secure the cabin and have access upon arrival the next morning. Despite this, no accommodation was made. We were still told that nothing could be done unless we were physically present to book in person. This lack of flexibility was both surprising and disappointing. The following morning, we arrived at your office around 11:30 a.m., hoping that, given the circumstances, we might be allowed an early check-in rather than waiting until 4:00 p.m. Unfortunately, we were again met with inflexibility. We were told it was strictly against policy and that no exceptions could be made under any circumstances. To further complicate matters, we were not even provided with the address of the cabin until 4:00 p.m. via email. This prevented us from planning ahead or making any productive use of our time. As a result, we were forced to spend over four hours driving around the area trying to pass the time. This was especially difficult given that we had three children under the age of 14 with us, one of whom is a type 1 diabetic. Because of this, we had to rearrange our entire day and ultimately missed our planned visit to Dollywood after driving from Georgia to Tennessee. Additionally, our cabin rental included complimentary tickets for local excursions, which we were unable to use due to the delayed check-in process and lack of access to the property. After our day was already disrupted, we went to a grocery store and spent approximately $100 on food, expecting to cook dinner using the gas grill advertised in the listing (and I triple checked the listing). Upon arrival, we discovered there was no gas grill--only a charcoal grill with no charcoal provided--making it impossible to prepare the meal we had planned. We were then forced to order pizza, which was left outside and arrived cold. Attempts to reheat it were unsuccessful, resulting in further wasted food and additional expense. Once inside the cabin, we encountered numerous issues that further impacted our stay. There were ants around the sink, dishes and bathtubs were visibly dirty, and the indoor griddle provided was unusable due to a missing power cord. The guest pantry contained nothing beyond salt and pepper. The refrigerator door and shelving were broken, the pool room alarm was not properly attached or functioning, and several doorknobs throughout the cabin were loose or falling off. Due to these conditions and the overall experience, we made the decision to leave early and returned home on Sunday around 12:00 p.m., despite having paid in full for our stay through Monday morning. Given the lack of flexibility, misleading listing information, poor cleanliness, maintenance issues, additional expenses, and the significant disruption to our trip, we are requesting a full refund(WE STILL HAVE NOT HAD A SINGLE RESPONSE FROM MANAGEMENT). We also want to note that we have another trip booked for July, and when we inquired about early check-in for that stay, we were told accommodations could be made if available. This highlights a clear inconsistency in customer service compared to our recent experience. Additionally, we had been seriously considering renting this same cabin again for Christmas if our stay had met expectations. I wish I could have had zero to choose from. Be careful renting from these people. They scammed nearly a grand from us. Wife purchased the Cancellation Protection Plan. They "claimed" when we booked, my wife called days later and cancelled the cancellation protection. Why for a $2000.00 booking would anyone worry about $123.00 for protection. When we called their office, they were rude and said a supervisor would call which never happened. A contract is a lease agreement. If any part of the contract is changed, the contract legally should be amended and resigned. They don't do that because they know they can scam you. Their defense to the credit card company is "they documented it in their system by?" Makes sense why their rating is so low and "1" has the most reviews out of all the ratings. Fuck Bear Camps and all their leadership that scam hard working people. read more

Horrible. This was our second trip to TN and we chose this cabin(Gatlinburg heights) due to having family/kids with us so we needed the space. After driving 10 hours we get into the room we had to see it was covered in crusted dog pee spots and you could smell it in the air. We reached out to management who told us they wouldn't be cleaning the room until AFTER our stay. So why wasn't it cleaned BEFORE we came AFTER the last group? What is wild is they were trying to see if we would come a day early which we didn't thankfully. But offered no solution when we were scheduled to be there for 5 days. We ended up leaving a day early due to this smell and I started to get sick which I'm sure is due to the ammonia from the pee. The washer and dryer is extremely small as well so if you're staying here with a group of 12 people for days be prepared to do massive amounts of laundry. Do not recommend staying here or using this company for your stay. read more

WARNING! DO NOT RENT FROM BEAR CAMP CABIN RENTALS! This was a nightmare. We drove all the way from Florida--hours on the road--only to arrive at a disgusting, unsafe disaster of a cabin. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by spiders, bugs crawling everywhere, and the smell of filth. Rust-covered pots and pans, crumbling infrastructure, and serious safety hazards surrounded us. The driveway itself was falling apart. We were honestly afraid to stay even 15 minutes. We called the office the second we arrived and were met with cold indifference. Their response? "There's nothing we can do." No help. No urgency. No concern for our safety or well-being. We immediately left and had to find a hotel--out more money, more stress, and zero accountability from Bear Camp. And it gets worse. Not a single call back. Not a single follow-up. We chased them for THREE DAYS before finally speaking to a manager who casually said, "You should've just stayed so we could send someone to clean." Are you kidding? That offer was never made, and no amount of cleaning would have fixed what we saw. Bottom line? They refused to refund us, refused to take responsibility, and stole an entire week's rental from us. Bear Camp Cabin Rentals clearly does not care about you, your family, or your safety. This company is unethical, irresponsible, and downright dangerous. Paradise Vista - Honest Review Paradise Vista is located high up in the mountains on a narrow, winding road. The drive was a bit nerve-wracking, but that's the trade-off for a beautiful view. It was also only about five minutes from downtown Gatlinburg, which made the location very convenient. Unfortunately, the cabin itself was disappointing. Parking was advertised for two cars, but in reality we could barely fit one. Our vehicle ended up half in the road, which was stressful for the duration of our stay. Upon entering, we were met with a strong musty, mildewy odor. While the listing photos were accurate in layout, they appeared to be very outdated as the furnishings and finishes were worn. The fireplace was locked until October, which was frustrating since September nights are cool in the mountains. The kitchen was well-stocked and we were able to cook, but several cabinet doors were missing and propped against the wall. The grill was rusted, dirty, and required us to replace the propane tank ourselves. It was difficult to light, so we only used it once. The deck had not been cleaned in some time--covered with acorns, leaves, and debris--and the outdoor table was filthy. The hot tub did heat up but only two weak jets worked. The upstairs bed was very uncomfortable and in need of a new mattress. The jacuzzi tub did not work at all. While the game room was a nice feature, the stairs to access it and the bedroom were steep and narrow. The biggest issue was the dryer, which did not work. We had packed lightly because the listing advertised a washer/dryer, so this created a real problem. We reported all of these issues immediately. Management sent someone with a broom so we could clean the deck ourselves and brought extra pillowcases, but they were unable to give us any timeline for repairs. Overall, while the location was convenient and the game room a plus, the condition of the cabin was poor and maintenance was lacking. For the price, we expected much better. This vacation was meant to be a three day mental relaxation from a very stressful life. The hope was to come and sit by the stream read a book drink a cup of coffee and enjoy my stay in nature. The description online states. ' 'Step through the back door, and you'll discover the highlight of this vacation rental - the back deck overlooking the tranquil Greenbriar Creek. It's the ideal spot for sipping your morning coffee, enjoying a meal al fresco, or simply basking in the beauty of nature. The soothing sounds of the creek will provide the perfect soundtrack to your relaxation.' I arrived on a late Friday night to find that when I open the back door, a giant fence blocking any view that was promised in the description above. In the morning when I called to speak with management, I was told it's the manager's day off and she couldn't be reached until the next day. I explained that the whole purpose of this trip was to be able to sit by the stream and the girl that answered stated she couldn't move my location or offer any refunds. That this would need to be done by the manager. I explained that then my vacation would be basically over. And she said there was nothing she could do that. I had to speak with the manager. I called and spoke with the manager the next day. This is now Sunday. The manager basically said there were pictures of both the stream in view to show the properties of places you could go on the property to sit by the stream and a picture of the fence. When I told her her description stated that it overlooked the stream. Janey, the manager, stated ' well you are overlooking the stream. You just can't see it through the 'fence'. She said that this rental is so cheap. There was no wiggle room to refund me. There would be nothing they would do for me. I explained that even in the bathroom, the shower curtain had mold growing on it, Red bacteria across the entire bottom, and yellow stains. She would not even address this. I took pictures of both their description and the bathroom shower curtain. When I said that I would report this she said do whatever you need to. Zero customer service at all. And false advertising. And a disgusting bathroom. Beware that they will advertise for all of the cabins as a whole not the individual one you may be booking and it may be disgusting. read more

We all enjoyed all the amenities including an indoor pool, outdoor hot tub, pool table, Mario Kart arcade game and movie room. It was a great cabin for 13 of us to stay in! I called yesterday to rent a cabin for three days in Dec. I informed the girl we would need a handicap access cabin as I use a handicap scooter. The girl informed me they had no handicap access to any cabin. At that point I don't know what to say except that TN is one of the worse places in the country for handicap people. Beware!!! Do not rent with Bear Mountain Cabin Rental in Tennessee. Upon our arrival, we were shocked to find that the property is far from the "luxury" rental it was advertised to be. Frankly, the state of the cabin is unacceptable, and there are multiple issues that are outright safety hazards. To begin, the cleanliness of the cabin was severely lacking. There are cobwebs in multiple corners of the rooms, cobwebs in the showers, and the floors, surfaces, and walls are dirty. Specifically, we found sticky residue on several walls and doors. Somebody puked on the floor and it was wiped up only to the edge of the bed. Food wrappers under the couches. There was dried pasta in a bedroom closet and what appears to be beard trimmings left over from a previous guest. The outdoor dining room and lawns were littered with garbage from the last occupants, including beer bottles and ramen noodle packages on the lawn, and the garage is full of trash, creating a foul odor and attracting creatures. We had nowhere to dispose of our own garbage. There are numerous maintenance issues that needed urgent attention and were never fixed: Flickering lights throughout the cabin. Broken tiles in the basement. Broken fans in the main room. A broken refrigerator, with multiple levels of cracked glass. A broken toaster Lamps with burned out bulbs And entire row of kitchen outlets that are completely dead Broken pool cues and a malfunctioning air hockey table, meaning we can't use any of the entertainment features. The stair rail cords upstairs are broken resulting in gaps big enough for small children to fall through. This is a huge safety hazard. Most concerning of all, the locks on the doors downstairs are broken, presenting a clear security risk. This is especially distressing as we had children with us, and we had to resort to makeshift solutions using sticks and a belt to secure the doors. We stayed up until 11:00 pm hoping to hear back from the emergency line after calling multiple times (including three calls to the main and emergency lines), but no one responded. There are smoke detectors that are unhooked and not attached to the wall. These are all major safety problems that result in increasing discomfort. Most galling was the standard of customer service, rather the total lack thereof. I spent two days trying to find a resolution to the issues, including waiting up for 4 hours the night of our arrival. Janie, the supervisor was rude, uncaring, unprofessional, and unwilling to take responsibility for the state of the rental. When we brought up the issues, her response was that "nobody else had complained from previous renters and that the rental contract says no refunds". The rental contract also promises a clean and safe rental with none of the issues listed and yet, we were met with all of the issues listed above. The cabin is marketed as a luxury rental, yet the condition of the property does not meet even basic hospitality standards. The website advertises experiences that are "comfortable, relaxing, and convenient" and suggests that the cabins are "fully stocked and equipped". Given the multitude of issues we've encountered--none of which had been addressed despite our due diligence in contacting the company-- this experience has been anything but comfortable, relaxing, or convenient. We were offered no restoration other than "some attraction tickets" of which we had already received as PART of the rental. This property is in no way reflective of the quality that was promised in the listing. We had been left feeling unsafe and uncomfortable during what should have been a relaxing getaway. read more

The smell was SO strong of mothballs that no one could sleep upstairs or use the game room. The electricity went out and it took 8 hrs. to get it back on. Thursday night through Saturday night and no fridge, freezer worked refrigerator portion did not they couldn't fix it offered cooler but I'd already froze our food had to buy a good cooler to get frozen steaks and meat home. Offered to move us last night. It was ridiculous. I feel we should be refunded at least half of rental as we are out instead of making our meals at the cabin. Shady Pines: My family had looked forward to this family vacation for a few months. We had everyday planned out. On our way up to the cabin we spent the day in Gatlinburg and arrived late to the cabin. We all unloaded and unpacked all of our food, games, suitcases etc. We had brought all of our breakfast food so that we could have more family time cooking in. We all got unpacked. I went to sit in the living room to enjoy the last hour that we had until bedtime. My son looked up and saw a lot of mold on the ceiling and beam above us. I immediately called Bear camp cabins office. They couldn't do anything about it that night because it wasn't an emergency. I called them the first thing the next morning. I had to send them over pictures and then they sent someone out later that day to check to confirm that it was definitely mold!! They said the only thing they could do for us was refund our money and they had no other cabins to put us in so we spent half of our day looking for somewhere for us to stay (a party of seven) nothing was available except for two rooms at Days Inn, which was a pretty crappy hotel. The office manager at Bear Camp cabins could not help us find anything. She said she was too busy although when I called the Dollywood Dream more they didn't have any rooms available, but that lady helped me find the Day Inn, that was the only one that she could find besides one more 45 minutes. Since it was a last minute booking Day Inn charged us $2200 for three nights for two rooms. I was very disappointed with Bear camp cabins because they didn't compensate us in anyway, except for giving us a full refund on our cabin even though we had to pay $700 more dollars to stay in two crappy rooms, we lost out on a half a day at pigeon Forge and we had all the work of unpacking and then packing back up. I would never book with them again and I would encourage everyone else not to because I'm pretty positive that mold had been there for a while and that they knew about it. Nice Places to rent my family rented one with 3 stories high was awesome and not to expensive to rent for 4 days

We paid for a lovely cabin with all the amenities. 3 hours before checkin, we were contacted to tell us our cabin was inaccessible. Ok. Winter...I get it. We were offered two alternative cabins - both were further away and a downgrade based on average rates. We chose the one with the movie room as it was for a girls weekend. GATLINGBURG HEIGHTS was the name. The good - the bedrooms were nice and private. The bad - we had to call maintenance twice in a 3 day weekend. The Tvs downstairs didn't work at all and maintenance got them to turn on, but the move room is DVD only and the other room didn't have a functioning remote. There is a pool table but the pockets have holes. There is air hockey, but the paddles have no felt. There is a pinball machine, but it hangs and you have to unplug it. The kitchen is poorly stocked. No mixing bowls, no serving bowls, one non-serrated knife and it was dull. The fting pans were gross but luckily we broght a paella pan, a baking dish, and a dutch oven so we could use our own pots. The stove died while we were mid-dinner (maintenance call 2). So, as someone used to the quality and maintenance of a North GA cabin, I will head south next time. Horrible experience.​​​ read more

Beautiful Cabin , 16 female cousins stayed & was spacious and more than enough room. Beds sit high up but we're very comfortable. My only issue was the game system didn't work and a service order was already put it before we arrived, we just wished it would've been fixed before we got there. The day it was time for us to leave my Truck wouldn't start, so I had to call the office and advise as the tow truck arrived shortly before 10:30, and they were fine with us staying but we were mostly outside because the weather was great. We will definitely stay at this resort again. It's absolutely beautiful and less than 2 minutes from the strip. read more

if you like to clean for hours before you go on vacation, this is the spot for you. There's more bugs than you'll ever see in your life. They are on the beds, couches, countertops, they are everywhere. I actually had a bug crawl up in my shirt while sitting on the couch. Everything was dirty food stains on the drapes and windows. there was old food left in the cabinets. The heat downstairs did not work properly. The flooring in it was below inadequate. It had so many gaps in the flooring. It has water damage around the kitchen table. The customer service hung up on me after I tried to make aware of everything going on. This was the worst place I have ever stayed. We actually left less than 24 hours after check-in and went back home. read more

Would give negative stars if possible... What a nightmare in the not-so-Cozy Cove! There was NOTHING right about our one-night stay in May of 2025. It was late by the time we discovered the issues: hot tub broken and they had to have known and chose not disclose bc it had not been cleaned (lots of debris and bugs) and the filter was broken lying beside the hot tb, half decayed mouse on the floor, my white socks were thrown away after walking on the filthy floors for about ten minutes; weird water like stains on sheets and pillow where they laid the pillow on top of the wet whatever it was; hairs in both beds and the shower. Early the next morning we drove to the rental place to show them our pictures of the issues. We were kind and calm about it, just asked for a refund. They initially offered to send their cleaning crew back, which I kindly and as respectfully as I could declined as I was not confident about their cleaning standards. They then offered to put us in another one of their cabins, to which we kindly and respectfully stated the same answer: we are not confident in your standards and we are on vacation and do not need any more time wasted. I asked if they would just give us a full refund so we could get our stuff out and find another place to stay and enjoy our much-needed vacation. I also told them they had my word I would not leave a review for them (and I wouldn't have); we would simply walk away from the situation and move on. To which they agreed to the full refund, but by the time we got back to the cabin they had already changed the lock code (and theyknew our stuff was still inside), and it was a hassle to even get the code to get back in to get our stuff. They at this time also stated they were not going to refund our money because an "inspector" had been to the cabin three days prior to our visit and all had checked out fine. The mouse was literally half decayed (didn't even smell any longer) and had clearly been there for more than three days! My husband had requested a call from a manager/owner after they said they were not going to refund us. He was told they would give him the message but he was busy. Of course, he never called. My husband called three times asking for him and letting them know he was still waiting for his return call..to which he never received. We disputed the charges of approx. $950 through our credit card - which they ruled in our favor. Thankfully God provided another cabin quickly through from a private individual on VRBO. It was perfect and about as clean as my own home with a working hot tub; the rest of our stay was wonderful in TN. We have rented several cabins Gatlinburg the last twenty years and this was the only bad experience we've had, but this was also our first rental with this joke of a company. Needless to say we would never stay in a cabin maintained by Bear Camp Cabin Rentals and hopefully this review can save someone else a disaster while on vacation. read more

We brought the University of Alabama Men's Ice Hockey team here while we played the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Having 6 separate cabins provided a great amount of space for our group and the downstairs communal areas were great for watching football and team bonding. Having 6 full kitchens made it easy to cook for a group this large and the parking was perfect for our university vans. The entire cabin was clean and we didn't have a single issue during our stay. We will be recommending this cabin to other teams here at UA, and may even return if we find ourselves playing up in Knoxville again! read more

HUGE disappointment for our large family holiday reunion. The biggest issue was that the heat was not functioning for three out of the five days of our stay. we called multiple times each day and they kept telling us they would call us back. We were freezing with no blankets with single-digit weather outside and the cabin in the mid 50s. When they finally sent someone to look at the heat on the third day, he told us that the wires were not correctly installed so that means that it was not confirmed that the heat was working before we checked in. Household items were not well stocked or broken, The sheets felt very rough and dusty, so I wish I had brought my own. Mattresses were squeaky and worn. The listing didn't mention the driveway being at a 35° angle and snow made entry and departure very challenging. "Theater room". Was in the lowest level and very drafty. And the chairs were extremely uncomfortable. Very poor insulation in the home overall it was very drafty all around the windows and doors. Kitchen stools were a safety hazard. All seemed about to break so all unusable. Positive: kitchen well stocked with plates, mugs and glasses. That made it very convenient for the large amount of guests. We arrived and were told the AC units were not working appropriately. The manager on duty at Bear camp rentals stated they were getting window units to put in rooms to help cool the whole cabin. After a couple hours of the units being placed and turned on, we called to left the office know that cabin is not cooling. It was 90 degrees outside. For the 4 days we were staying, no one came to repair the main unit. Multiple family members called at least twice a day to speak with a representative for Bear Camp Cabin Rentals to follow up on our concerns. Each were told that they (the manager at Bear Camp Cabin Rentals) needed to speak to the "owners" and they would get back to us. NO follow up call until evening before checkout day read more

We arrived to our cabin to find it dirty. Our hot tub smelled moldy and 2 windows were busted in the A frame. I called in and they did say they would send someone out in the morning to look at things. As the night went on more things piled up. I called in the next morning to check out. We checked in on Sunday and checked out the next morning. We paid to be there until Thursday. I called in to the office to tell them that we were checking out early. The person who answered the phone never asked any questions about why. She didn't care. We had to eat the rest of the money paid and find another place. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! read more
