The facility itself was exactly what we expected it to be - a rustic lodge overlooking some beautiful mountain views. The wedding definitely turned out to be memorable, and that is the important thing! The only "challenge" with this venue is the next-door neighbors, who clearly have issues living in proximity to a commercial resort. This was made evident by the posted signs viewable from the rear balconies whereby the neighbors indicated something about the need for guests to keep noise down and be respectful because people live here, etc. Well ... these same neighbors were plainly resentful of the fact that normal party music was played at the wedding reception (music that properly ended at 10:30 pm) and were intent on underscoring the point by BLARING loud outdoor radio music until 2:30 AM and then starting up again at 5:30 AM so as to disturb the guests' ability to sleep. Needless to say, my wife and I were happy to leave this establishment bright and early the next morning. I get it, and it should come to no one's surprise, there are a few "Hatfield and McCoy"-types up in 'dem 'der hills. However, I do believe the resort has some obligation to deal with this problem in a meaningful way, for the benefit of all prospective guests.

This was…read morewhere we spent our honeymoon (well Gburg actually - in an old run down cabin that wasn't theirs). I don't even know if this place was around then. That was 41 years ago but we spent time up here for our 40th anniversary this year - using them exclusively since we found them about 20 years ago. I think the ownership went thru change since we've been coming here but we exclusively and use them at least 3-4 times a year. Their special for last minute trips is incredible. After 20 years, 3-4 times a year (so we've stayed in most of them), each one has always been clean as a whistle. We have figured that we have stayed with them over 60 trips. At least. We've never stayed with anyone else the past 20 years! Our favorite place is at the top of the mountain at the water tower. However three of the four we always stayed at and liked the best, all but one was burned down in the Gatlinburg Fire of 2016. It burned down to their concrete footprint. They finally got one of them rebuilt and just opened back up so we are leaving Friday to go there. It's at the very top of the mountain and you can see for miles and miles. Yet it is only 5 min from the Parkway, behind Dollywood. You would think a cabin on the to of the mountain with its incredible view would be miles from the Parkway but it's only a short 5-8 minutes. I can never praise their staff enough. They are awesome people to work with. Some of our favorite restaurants we never miss are the Applewood for bfast, Guy Fieri's restaurant and arcade ( this is awesome and relatively new and great to go because there is a Crumbl and Ice Cream shop next door that are for that sweet tooth we always seem to get worse up there), Chop House, Cherokee Grill (Gburg), Ogles Farmers Kitchen ( I think this is the name. It right close to going in for Applewood. We've just recently found this and have been multiple times), The Pottery Barn Cafe is usually our first place we hit coming into town. There is also Paula Deens, Chop House, and Johnny Carino's. This is just for starters. Stay here and you won't regret it!!!

First we didn't have any hot water, then we found bugs in the beds and on the floors, the upstairs bathroom toilet didn't have a chain so it wouldn't flush, the downstairs fireplace wouldn't work, the washer barely had any water running, and the top of the cabinet had food/ trash as if someone was throwing food over the stairs.After a long car ride like that we all wanted to take a nice warm shower before bed. We have stink bugs and lady bugs in Florida so we know what they are/ look like but we searched one of the bugs and it said bed bugs... When we called we were told no body would be out until the next day and it wasn't an emergency. No matter what type of bugs who wants to sleep in a bed full of bugs after a long drive like that?? The next morning the maintenance guy came out to fix these issues and he was a very nice guy. He listened to everything we said and by the time we came back we had hot water, the toilet flushed, and the fireplace was working! We got a phone call and they said they would send someone out to clean the house but everything looked the same way as when we left that morning. We all took showers and figured why not try an enjoy it since we already spend this much money and wasn't offered to be moved to another cabin or anything. Just that they would contact us after our stay... Sunday morning we woke up with no hot water again.... They came back out and got it fixed again and then we had it the rest of our trip. Though it ended there, NOPE!! Sunday night my sister went to lay down and she had water leaking on her bed. We didn't call because it was 2 am and they would have just said it's not emergency again. She slept on the couch that night. Monday went good we stayed in because it started snowing. My boyfriend cleaned the filter to the washer because it was full of dirt and the washer started working AMAZINGLY ! Monday night my sister went to lay down again and the same thing happened once again. Tuesday morning after we packed and got ready to leave we check the room to make sure we didn't leave anything behind and it started leaking in 4 more spots!!! That bed is going to be ruined and it is going to start stinking. So to say the cabin is ready and clean is a LIE!! It looked as if the cabin hadn't been clean in forever and when we started the shower it seemed like the water hadn't been ran in a good while. The cabin and view was beautiful but to pay as much as we did to have to come to something like this is CRAZZYY!! I didn't come on vacation to clean/ have to call someone everyday because there is a new problem everyday. My mom did get a call but all they could do was refund the cleaning fee and a 25% off coupon for our next trip. Yes we are thankful for something but I feel as that just isn't enough and we will definitely not be booking with them again. And if it was the cleaning company I would definitely get a new one because they don't know how to clean. I have my own business and WOULD NEVER DO THIS TO SOMEONE!!! Was clean and the kids really enjoyed the indoor pool. Lovely area and quiet. Plenty of room inside for the whole family. 1st negative - First night we noticed that there were not any pillow cases on any of the beds, they were delivered later in the evening. 2nd negative - The sink in the master bedroom on the first floor would not drain. This caused some minor issues since everyone used this bathroom when on the main level. We had to wait until late afternoon the next day for a repair which included replacing the complete drain and pipes below sink. The repair person was very professional. 3rd negative - It would be nice to have hangers in the closet and some hooks in bathrooms to hang personal items. As we were preparing to leave on our last morning - getting all items packed for 4 kids under 7 and four adults, I inadvertently left my expensive Dyson hair dryer in a drawer in the main bathroom and to top that off, my husband left his wedding ring on top of the dresser. I contacted the Bear Tracks management number to report our mishap. They stated that they would have the cleaners check the cabin. Two more times I emailed and was told the items were not found. I'm pretty upset at myself for forgetting my Dyson dryer, but I am really disappointed with the Bear Tracks team. I do not want to make accusations against them, but I find it really shady that they just disappeared and the cleaning team "couldn't find" them.

However, you cannot get into this driveway without making a 3 point turn because the turn halfway through the driveway is so sharp. Once we got to the cabin it was beautiful, the view was amazing, the rooms were a good size and looked really nice. However, at night we started hearing creatures in the ceiling or attic space right above us. We thought that maybe they were mice hit as the night went on they were much larger sounding. The second night I recorded the noises, and my husband who is a police officer even got up at one point with his weapon because it sounded like a human walking around. We send emails with the videos of all the loud noises all night right above us that kept us up and made a phone call. We were told that animal control wouldn't come out until our trip was over and our final departure was made. We were also told that pest control was coming but later that day told that it was useless because from the videos it was clearly a bigger issue than pest control. I expressed out concern for lack of sleep and the fact that we had no idea what animals we were sharing a home with and Said "so we just don't have a choice but to attempt to sleep with whatever creature is living with us" and she said "I mean so hate to put it that way but yes". We were told that management would be calling us, which they never did. We never even got a call after departure letting us know what it even was. The contract stated that they would gladly take care of any pest control, with raccoons, bears, etc in parenthesis and they absolutely did not. We got no sleep with all the banging around above us and I was never comfortable enough to fall asleep not knowing what was walking around above us.
