I wish they listed the descriptions of what the flavors are for the signature drinks though so I don't have to bother the staff on what each thing actually is while it's busy. The pastries here all looked great with different flavors, I liked the Pecan Cherry scone a lot, with actual cherries mixed in! It is vegan and gf, which means the texture is definitely very different from traditional pastries, but one of the best vegan ones I've ever had. Excited to come back and try more!

I wish they had more food selection but it was still good. There is not a fixed menu and they rotate what they make I believe. I believe that The Garden Cafe uses la prima beans which are one of my favorite local roasters. I ended up getting my coffee to go, but I love that there is a lot of local influence within the coffee shop. There are advertisements for local events, local art for sale, and a little library. The fridge in the back is open for anyone who is facing food insecurity too. Overall, the inside space of The Garden Cafe is cozy and makes me want to read a book there sometime. Service was fast and the baristas really connect with the locals.

I stopped by here this past Sunday with my wife and our twins for our morning coffee. Every Sunday…read moremorning we try to hit up a new local coffee shop and on this morning we decided to go to Abolition Coffee. This coffee shop is located on Penn Ave in the former Tonix Coffee shop. Whenever I arrived on this morning there was no one to be seen and so my son and I stood around for a couple of minutes before the barista came out of the back. There wasn't much conversation from him and since I didn't see any specials here, I ordered myself a cappuccino and my wife a cold brew. He quickly made my cappuccino and finished the cold brew and with only a few more words, we were out the door. While it wasn't a bad experience, I also wouldn't call it a good one and it honestly just felt weird. One thing that I can say is at least the coffee here was good. Even through the milk I could taste the bold coffee and loved the fruity notes from it on the finish. That alone really helped my rating here. The bottom line for me is that I might stop by here again in the future. While I really enjoyed the actual coffee here, the experience itself and lack of a seasonal menu would means it may not be my first choice.
