I love Sainte Genevieve and I'm thrilled that it's growing since I left many moons ago. I was there this past weekend and ate here... it's new from when I visited. Not new to Feast Magazine. They named it one of the best new restaurants. I gotta agree. I was heading out of town and needed coffee. I wanted real coffee. Not fast food or gas station coffee so we stopped in here. It was after lunch and the pastry case was a little empty. Looking at the menu I noticed Chai Latte. There we go. My fave. I was thrilled. She uses Blueprint Coffee and ice never been disappointed with any drink made with their coffee. It was fantastic. I also got a pastry. It had raspberry and cream cheese in it. Wowza! The dough was so flaky and perfect. There were a lot of signs that said "Quality Takes Time". I agree and honestly I would have waited longer for the coffee and pastry I received... it was just that good. Next time I'm in town I'm heading here for lunch. I highly recommend. read more

Heavy portioned quiches with a crust worth waging war over. The Vietnamese iced coffee is great too -more on the bitter side. Enjoyed the ganache hot chocolate as well- it's also bitter in case you are more of a sweeter cocoa fan 100% would come back read more

The wonderful smells that greet you are amazing. What a great way to start the day: pour over coffee; freshly made bagel (with no hole) and a breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese and more. Lovely setting. As others have noted, they are struggling to keep up so be ready for a wait. Bagel was quite tasty and pours en route divine. read more

Warning -It will take time because as the sign says "I am a 1 woman show" & everything is scratch made. (Order first then check-out the gallery) -hot drinks are limited & so check the menu -make sure there is seating inside the studio if you want to eat/drink there Suggestion ASK ABOUT THE DAY OLD $2 BAKERY GOODS! (This includes quiche... she makes them in the morning & warms them for you anyway so why not eat yesterdays?) Food & beverages ordered -We took home & shared a mini-loaf of lemon Cranberry sweet bread that was great & only $2. -Loose leaf tea was brewed well & served cute corked glass bottles. -Scratch made tuna salad was great. The fresh baked rye bread was excellent. -The "personal pan" spinach quiche was great with a buttery crust. -The fall salad was good but not great. The chicken & salad dressing had little flavor. Mandarin Oranges from a can didn't really make a great salad... Why not in season apples? Oh well. I can definitely see this in the rotation of places to visit. read more

Everything made from scratch. Coffees and tea made the old fashioned way. Everything that went into my mouth was INCREDIBLE. Highly recommend coming here if you're in the Farmington/ Ste. Genevieve area. I'm from St. Louis but if I'm coming down I-55 again, I will be coming back for more. The cinnamon roll and bagels are to die for!!! You won't regret coming to Beanik! read more

This is the cutest breakfast spot. The food is also incredible and you can tell a lot of effort and care goes into everything that's made. I had the breakfast sandwich with pesto and it was AWESOME. I also tasted my friends quiche. My gosh. If they have the quiche, don't question it. Just get it. They also serve Blueprint Coffee, from a small coffee shop in Saint Louis, which is a huge bonus! read more

Absolutely Delightful. Anytime I get coffee, Beanik is the spot I go to. The pour-over coffee and selection of homemade pastries has always been top notch. Pair that with a cozy atmosphere and Billie Holiday playing on the juke box, I could end up spending hours there. Definitely recommend if you are in Ste. Genevieve. read more

Love the Iced Vanilla Latte, Spinach Quiche and Chocolate Chip & Pecan Waffle. All coffee is pour over - individually made after you order it. All pastries and savories are made from scratch. Just finished eating with my wife and a friend. Ordered the Belgian waffle with bacon and cheese and the soup of the day (Apple gouda sausage with penne). The soup was delicious, but...hands down that waffle was the best I ever had in my life. It's not even close. My friend loved her salad, and my wife enjoyed her sausage quiche and home made BlackBerry Danish. Owner and her staff-person were friendly and attentive yet unobtrusive. Lovely people. If you come to St. Genevieve, eat here. Lots of coffee options too! read more

The most incredible cinnamon rolls I have had thus far in my life! And whoa Sally, those Tasty Pecan Belgian waffles- my mouth nearly ran away from me. Very good food! My bowl was good. Hubby wasn't impressed with his egg salad sandwich that wasn't a sandwich. Egg salad on a plate with one piece of bread on side? Not what menu said. Menu said sandwich. I would go back. But he won't. read more

the only reason for the 1 less star was the amount of time. i do apologize to the owner i was trying to get my party to pay all together so that and the amount of business slowed us down a bit especially with a new employee just on her second day. that being said she and the owner were working their buns off and the food was insanely delicious!! i do not live in the area but i highly recommend it and will return on future wine trips with my gang!! read more

This is one of the best breakfast places I have ever eaten, anywhere in the US or the world. I had the spinach quiche, it was the best quiche I have ever had. The same was true for the cinnamon roll. At first glance this place may seem a little sketch - old doors, old furniture, tiny counter. We are really happy we stopped in. The owner made us a delicious pour-over coffee drink that was fantastic. We tried the maple scone and it was amazing! We certainly enjoyed our time here. Pour over and the cinnamon agave latte were my family's favorites! We also had the savory hams don cheese Belgian waffle, the steel cut oatmeal, and the spinach quiche. And did I mention EVERYTHING is homeade?? This was the BEST food we had in St Genevieve and would recommend 10/10. A local gave us a tip that it is a slower coffee shop but that is because it's all homeade. It's so wonderful. Please visit. read more

So I really wanted to give this a four stars based on all the other reviews but to be honest I thought it was just Ok. The atmosphere was quaint and inviting but the service was not and the food was Ok. I had a Ham an egg breakfast bagel that was more like a biscuit (which I'm not a big fan of)and the egg with diced ham filling and cheddar was bland. The creamy pesto was delicious and helped it out a lot. My husband actually liked that kind of bagel but he said his ham quiche was bland. There are menus on the table but you need to order at counter and preparer calls out ordered items for you to pick up. All which is fine but a bit of a mystery as to how things work there. The coffee was delicious but you are somewhat shamed about ordering a regular coffee.there. Their specialty is a "pour over" method but order "americano" if you want regular coffee flavor. Maybe my expectations were a little too high read more

I can't believe I haven't seen this place in the 2 1/2 years it's been open! I what a find! The cafe is quaint with vintage decorations and Mia-mar he's tables and chairs. Everything on the menu is made from scratch daily-even the bread the chicken salad sandwich my husband ordered (which came with the biggest chunks of chicken and walnuts!). He said it was fantastic. I had the half soup of the day (corn chowder) and spinach quiche- to die for! And, she Has the most scrumptious looking desserts in the front counter! If you live in town and haven't been been here, you need to go. If you're in town for a visit, stop by- the place closes at 4:30. We will be back! read more

We are on a road trip and our first stop is Hawn State Park. Beanik Cafe is the closest and coolest spot to the park for coffee. There are many choices for iced or hot. They have great salads and sandwiches,too. We had the Chinese Chicken Salad, perfect. We didn't have a dessert but the ones we saw looked good. The spot is so cute and immaculate. So nice to find cool places like this, makes our day! read more

Had lunch on Columbus Day. Apparently a very busy day since they were out of the quiche special by 11:45. We shared a Chinese chicken salad and sausage soup. Both were very good. Adequate size servings. The sign says, "quality takes time." Items were tasty, but don't come here in a hurry! read more

We traveled to Ste. Genevieve for a girls weekend and popped in on our first morning for breakfast. One word -- amazing. We got one of pretty much everything and it all was unbelievably good. The quiche, scones, waffles, sweet rolls and the coffee . . . oh, the coffee! We loved it so much that we came back the second morning and regretted not getting treats to take home. I'm already planning a trip back for later in the summer for me and my husband and Cafe Rust is at the top of our list. We purchased several pieces from the shop to remember this awesome spot. Meet the Business Owner: Shannon M.

Owner, Scratch Baker & Certified Barista I have been a closet baker for many years. I love experimenting in the kitchen and appreciate the science as well as the art of a great recipe. My life before Ste. Gen. uniquely combined these two aspects. I have degrees in Art, Art History, Kinesiology, Sport Science and Sport Psychology. My first career as a Junior Olympic Gymnastics Coach and Aquatic Specialist continued this trend combining the art of human movement and psychology with the science of kinesthetic movement and biochemistry. Ok...so in case you have not caught on....I am a Geek and proud of it! These passions now extend to the science behind scratch baking and brewing a perfect cup of coffee. I bake from scratch throughout the day and try to anticipate the needs of my patrons. Take a look in the case to see the available sweets. All hot brews average 4 minutes. I emphasize Quality not Quantity while offering something for all palates.
