Love the decor, friendly and helpful staff when you walk in, great coffee!…read more I am from out of town and drove around trying to find a quality cup of coffee. Thankfully this place popped up on my map. I don't care for overly sweet coffee so the girl helping me suggested the raspberry white chocolate flavored latte half sweet, which is perfect. I actually gave 5 stars but edited my post and knocking off stars for my sad to go breakfast I got.. I ended up waiting a while for my croissant breakfast sandwich and after I got in my car and saw it knew why.. It sat there in the back a while. Everything was cold (potatoes and sandwich), sandwich was soggy.. .Had potential but was a fail. I needed to get on the road so didnt have time for a pic or to go back. I was excited about this place, but with a breakfast like that it ruins a perfect rating. The staff should never let that go out the door like that. Not for 21.60 for a sandwich, coffee and tip. *Editing my post again and adding back a star for the heartfelt response I received from Morgan concerning my meal, including some things on their end to improve my experience. It's unexpected and unsolicited responses from a business sometimes that show they truly care about their customers and that deserves recognition. I will definitely give this place another shot when I come back through the area and hope the coffee is as good as it was the other day :)

I work at CMU once a year and often have time before my shift to grab breakfast. I'm familiar with…read morePonder Coffee from their location in the Health Professions building where I work, but I wanted to check out this downtown location. I loved it! The location is great and I was able to find street parking nearby pretty easily (although it was during CMU's winter break). I got a breakfast burrito with sausage, bacon, cheddar, and potato, and an oat milk latte. The employee taking my order was patient and friendly. The space isn't huge but I was able to get a small high top table near the front window to read and enjoy my breakfast. The latte was very delicious and creamy, and the breakfast burrito was huge! I loved that it came with salsa and sour cream. I definitely could have saved half for later, but it was so good that I smashed the whole thing. The seating wasn't super comfortable, but I was able to hang out for about an hour or so, reading and having a nice warm meal. Loved my visit to this Ponder Coffee and will definitely go back in the future.

Huge fan of Ivy, especially their outdoor dining area, but last night I had a dinner reservation…read morefor a group and was told when we arrived it was for Coco Cabana. I've never made a reservation there (or for Varley) but this was the second time they've tried to tell me my reservations were for there. When I make an online reservation, at Ivy's address, there's no option to select Coco Cabana, so I don't know why there has happened multiple times. It seems like they're trying to force people to go to their less popular restaurant, which feels unethical and is very off putting. With this said, the bartender is phenomenal, he makes great cocktails. And the staff have always been very friendly and engaging.

A delightful repurposing of Coleman's old train depot, this winery specializes in, as the name…read moresuggests, currant wines. I am not always a fan of fruit wines, but I really enjoyed sampling the many variations, red and black currant, from dry to sweet dessert wine. If you are not a fan of non- grape wines, be advised that currants have a nuanced, sophisticated flavor -- not too sweet and a touch of " wild." My spouse and I came up eith all sorts of ideas for pairings and cooking with these wines. Our great find here was an oaked semisweet black currant wine -- delicious, with hints of vanilla and tobacco. Raspberry and pear wines are also for sale. The winery also offers cheese/ charcuterie snack plates and cheesecake -- the latter with your choice of currant or raspberry syrup. You can also purchase syrups, vinegar and teas made with winery fruit. The interior is spacious and comfortable, perfect for groups or parties. ( A lively group of women enjoying a girls' day out was there when we arrived.) This is a wonderful unique addition to our area, and well worth a trip to Coleman.

Manifesting the Perfect Latte (And It Worked)…read more Before I even stepped foot into Live Oak Coffeehouse, I closed my eyes and set my intention. I envisioned the perfect coconut almond milk latte--smooth, rich, subtly sweet, and crafted with care. I felt the warmth of the cup in my hands, the aroma wrapping around me like a cozy hug from the universe itself. I whispered to the cosmos: "Let this latte be everything I desire and more." And guess what? The universe delivered. I entered Live Oak with gratitude in my heart, and the barista--clearly an enlightened being--crafted my drink with the energy of a thousand good vibrations. The first sip? Pure alignment. The flavors danced in harmony, the temperature was just right, and for a moment, I felt like I had truly ascended. The ambiance of this place? Calm, inviting, full of positive frequencies. People chatted, read, worked, all in a state of peaceful flow. You could feel the creativity and good energy buzzing in the air. Some say you can't manifest happiness in a cup, but I'm here to tell you--you absolutely can. If you're ever in Midland, set your intention, walk into Live Oak, and let the magic happen.

Good coffee, friendly staff. Cozy atmosphere to chat with friends or even do some work…read more We were visiting Midland for a niece's graduation. We visited Live Oak Twice during our stay. They have a large selection of coffees that they roast themselves. Unlike a major chain, their coffee doesn't taste like burnt beans. The coffee had a nice flavor, with a strong finish that isn't bitter. Their syrups are also made in house. For the ones we tried, they were delicious. Not sugary sweet, so you can actually decern the various flavors. There was a board with the staff's choices, one being a Cinnamon and Brown Sugar, my partner enjoyed it and it was fantastic when she let me try it. I had both the Caramel Latte and Macchiato. I was pleased with both. Even though we didn't get any, they had a good selection of Gluten Free options. The food is also made in house, meaning that they make these gluten free options on their own. Unlike many other chains and local shops that don't have any Gluten Free options, even if they are resold versions of major brands. That shows a care for those in the community that either for medical reasons or by choice eat Gluten Free. The environment in the shop is warm and inviting. Whether you are having a conversation with friends, reading a book, or trying to work on your laptop you'll find an area for you. The staff was friendlier than what I expect from a coffee shop. Usually they will great you, but they're more about getting your order and moving on to the next customer. The staff here would answer questions and where informative. Surprisingly, many of them were knowledgeable not only about the coffee, but the business itself. Do not sleep on Live Oak Coffee. You'll regret it.
