I was in town for a wedding. Pensacola also happens to be my home town. And I wanted to find a nice…read morebreakfast one day. I hopped online to do some quick research, and found this place. Definitely new since I left home. I was interested. Ambiance was wonderful. A good amount of seating with each sitting spot feelings mildly secluded, which is nice. No one wants their coffee shop gossip being overheard. And when you walk in, you're first greeted with that classic glass case of available pastries and goodies. It was hard to not just order one of each item. Service was nice. It was counter service, and they bring your order right to your table. Can't ask for better service than that. Nice folks, good small talk. And the food, it was delightful. We got a couple of fancy coffee drinks, which were well-flavored, not too sweet, and the iced one was presented in a mason jar. Classic. We also shared like four food items. The pull-apart monkey bread was sweet and dense and delicious. Don't order this if you're alone. You'll need help to finish it. Got a creme filled pull pastry thing. That was nice. Flakes for days. This was no rough puff. For the chocolate croissant, also known as a pain au chocolat. Again, very flakey, very buttery, the perfect touch of sweet chocolate. And a savory, massive scone. Bacon and chives, I think. Also very good. Crumbly. Overall, I was very surprised. There certainly wasn't anywhere like this in Pensacola when I lived here. This place is a quality bakery that could easily be found in a medium-sized city. I was so pleased and will definitely come back.

Very nice. And the pastries themselves were very high quality. Flakey, not dry, well filled, of a good size. Definitely a high point. Cons: No real cons. I didn't have enough stomach space to try everything I wanted. Lol. Tips: The chocolate croissant and the creme filled thing we got were delicious. The scone was also good, but maybe less good than other things we left on the table. Need to come back here!

We have now tried Local Thyme Bakery twice and both times the baked goods have been fantastic. This…read morelast time something happened that is worth mentioning. I am going to assume that you do not know about Local Thyme. It has just opened. The baker, Caleb puts a list of the items he wants to make for the week online and you place your order. He then will drop it off at Aragon Wine Market on Thursday nights when they have their free wine tastings. This went super smoothly the first time but not so much the last time. It appears that the person who was helping Caleb forgot to bring our order. My wife reached out to Caleb at around 6pm. He was at Aragon and said to our surprise that he would be right out to the house with our order. W-W-W what? Yep! Caleb drove the 20 minutes to our house, there is a toll, just to be sure that we got our order! Wow! Old school service, and the bread was fantastic too? Crazy........ So I get to work this morning and I am listening to one of my coworkers talk about this business she is trying to work with who is giving her the run around and not getting back to her. She complains that it is a brand new company and they are not trying very hard. I was happy to tell her about Local Thyme and what Caleb did for us last night. She immediately wanted to know the name of his business. I happily gave it to her. If you are sitting around thinking to yourself that you need something in your life and everything is blah and gray, I have just the thing to make your life bright and shiny again! It's sourdough cookies! Holy crap!!!!!!!! Those things will absolutely change your life. Just saying. Try them, you are welcome! Hell, its all delicious! I have a croque monsieur to devour for lunch today! I am so excited! Ok........Yes, you are right. I live to eat!

The proprietor who was in her car ready to leave after an early morning popped her head out and asked " can I help you?" I said I knew the place was closed but was investigating for the next time. She then asked what I was looking for... a bday cake for my son for a little celebration. She the offered to open the store and show me a little pie cake she'd whipped up from left over batter that morning. A test run she said. I bought it! It was delicious and fresh. Chocolate cake, chocolate pudding and whipped cream ice cream. Perfect for what I needed. I was pleasantly surprised at her willingness to go out of her way to help me.

I saw the reviews of Cakemasters and thought it would be a great place from which to order one, a German Chocolate one, specifically. Not being super knowledgeable about the area's geography, I found out on the pickup day that the bakery was almost an hour and a half from where we were staying with some bad traffic in Destin. I was cursing my gaffe...until I got the cake. It was wonderful! Lisa baked it that morning and it was so delicious, everyone in the family was raving about how it was one of the best tasting cakes they'd ever had. I did have to add a relative's name to the cake after I picked it up, so please note the picture attached is NOT how she gave it to us. I'd highly recommend Cakemaster's for reasonably priced, delicious cakes!
