We called these guys to come look at our AC last week after it died in the middle of the night. While I do appreciate that their tech came out, you could tell he simply did not actually care and just wanted to try and charge whatever he could. The "issue" he diagnosed wasn't even the actual issue. It was a bad wire, and clogged drain. Not a thermostat. Had we listened to him, we would have paid close to $1,000 and still not have had the answer. The tech was the one "freakin" on his so called diagnosis and pricing. Only call these guys if you want a tech that's doesn't actually care and treats you like a bad mechanic only there for the upsell. Editing to reply to the owner: I have no interest in training your technician how to not be a slime ball. You need to teach your techs how to be honest and more detailed, not just jump to the incorrect conclusion because it's a hot day. I know it was hot. I was the one suffering in my horribly hot house. The thermostat that he said needed replacing is working perfectly well. We had a neighbor with HVAC experience figure out the problem. Pretty bad when someone who left the business 10 years ago was better at the job than your paid tech. Even worse- me and ChatGPT figured out the clogged drain part. And I am not a handy person. If AI can do a better job than your technician- that's saying a whole hell of a lot. read more

This is a long review - Cliff notes version - Fantastic service!! A leak from our irrigation system allowed water to enter through a vent in the foundation and into the crawl space. There is moisture down the wall under the vent, and some dirt that was forced down there by the water pressure on the flower bed. We weren't sure how bad the damage was, and tried to help dry the crawl space by putting a small fan down there. But, I thought we'd better call someone who knows how to evaluate the damage and make suggestions and/or repair the damage. So we called Beacon. Rich answered the phone and arranged for us to get a visit from him that very afternoon. I was out of the house, but my son (38) was there when Rich came out. My son was very impressed with Rich's willingness to go down into the crawlspace and evaluate the issues. He said Rich was professional, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. Not only that, he was ethical enough to tell my son that because the irrigation issue was fixed, and there was really no damage that needed fixing, all was being taken care of well enough. I had imagined that he would be saying that he needed to put holes in the wall and bring giant fans to allow everything to dry, costing an arm and a leg, but instead, he came and gave us a no-cost evaluation and recommended we keep doing what we were doing (just a household fan and a little clean-up). Excellent Service Our water heater went out, so I submitted a request on yelp and Heard back within a few hours, even though it was late at night (9:30PM)! They were able to get someone out next day; tech (Marc) was running a bit late, but they made up for it by handling the repair on the spot and cutting their labor cost in 1/2 and handling the warranty cost directly with the manufacturer! This will be our 3rd time having Beacon come out for some plumbing needs and i highly recommend them. Joe came out yesterday, reviewed my concern (leak coming from somewhere around kitchen sink) and upon inspection determined where the leak was coming from (later validated that it had been a slow pindrop leak upon house being built 20+ years ago and no one including inspector from sellers when we bought the place 2 years ago ever detected it). We had recently purchased a house in Caldwell. With cold temps in the forecast we wanted to confirm the integrity of the HVAC system. We came across Beacon on Yelp. I gave them a call and they were able to get us on the schedule immediately. The day of service the guy showed up and went right to work. We cannot recall his name but he did a fantastic job. I was a little concerned about the price but I know sometimes you gotta pay up to get top tier service. Cheaper is never better. He answered all our questions and gave our system a clean bill of health. He even vacuumed the floor under the attic access in the bathroom. Thanks to Beacon and their outstanding tech we are comfy cozy on Gods Way Lane. I would definitely recommend Beacon for that 5 star service. read more

I was needing my disposal fixed because it was making a strange sound but it had been clogged up since 2 weeks ago and I was just using the trash cans for anything that couldn't go through the disposal. I had a wonderful tech guy from Beacon Heating,Plumbing and they sent the best tech guy named Josh who was so helpful and he completed the work in less than a few minutes. I am completely satisfied with his skills and his teaching me how to use the button underneath it to stop it immediately. He was very knowledgeable and clearly very experienced in his job. I asked them to give me a price to replace my water heater, they quoted me over $2,000.00 $800.00 for the water heater and 2 hours installation at $600.00 per hour, so $1200.00 for two hours work, who the heck is worth $600.00 per hour, I suggest you shop around. M. Middleton read more

I had a big leak under my house that ended up being caused by tree roots that destroyed my drain for my geothermal heating. Steve was excellent in finding what the problem was and then excavating a new drain field after finding the problem with the old. He did an excellent job from start to finish. Midway through a DIY home improvement project we realized we needed a plumber to bring our shower plumbing up to code as we were removing some water damage and re-tiling a shower. Beacon was able to come in and get the work done within a day which helped us keep moving forward with our project. Their initial quote came in sky-high but they price-matched another quote we had from another group which was more reasonable but still too expensive in my opinion for what equated to ~2.25 hours of labor. They did solid work, just unhappy with the initial "sucker" quote they tried on us but they then price-matched without much discussion. read more

We had an emergency plumbing issue late at night, we couldn't use any of or toilets sinks, showers. I called 3-4 different companies who advertised that they would do 24/7 emergency plumbing services. However, none of them would be able to come out till the next day. then I called beacon, and Patrick was really responsive and it was a quick easy process. He got his technician out at 10 o'clock that night. I think his name was Brandon, or Brayden. The technician was beyond friendly, very accommodating, and worked really hard to get our situation figured out. Unfortunately, they were not able to fix it because it looks as though the septic company I used did not pump our septic correctly. I will definitely be using beacon from now on though. Shawn is awesome !!! Very nice and HONEST guy. He came out to assess a flood we had in our backyard. He gave us the best and worst case scenario for what he believed could be the issues with our flooding. He took the time to go over the options available to us and the pros and cons of what we chose. Shawn began the work and quickly determined that he could take another step that might help us with our flooding problem and save us some money on labor. I had my water heater fail on me right before the weekend. Beacon Plumbing sent over a tech that same day and really saved me. Alex was highly knowledgeable and was a pleasure to meet. He replaced the faulty part and added a drainage pan and platform, all for a very reasonable price. He and Jenn back at Beacon's office also helped facilitate the warranty refund for the faulty part. We found a water leak at our in-laws house in Wilder. A previous plumber replaced the water heater to address the leak, but that was not the source. I called Beacon, and the team lead by John diagnosed a leaking water main. The repair was quite involved requiring jack hammering through concrete and digging a hole next to the house to identify, extract, and replace the offending pipe. They replaced the dirt and repaired the concrete as part of their work. At each step, they were courteous, friendly, and clean. Their work was up to code, and they stayed well after 5 to ensure that water was flowing and the house was back functional. Hi marks for Beacon! I give them my highest recommendation! read more

Our toilet was totally backed up, on a Saturday no less! I called every plumber I could find in Boise area. No available until I called Beacon! I had left a message and a nice lady actually returned m call. I had a plumber within a hour as he was on another call. He called to confirm and then he was here! Very polite and efficient man. He explained the additional costs for home repair and use of an auger! It was really plugged but he got it cleared!
