Jose & his A Team were top notch! I'm very picky but these guys are great at what they do! No, fantastic! When I met with Jose, he was very upfront about everything and did tell me he was 4 months out until he could get to do my project. I was ok with this based on all his wonderful reviews. Due to someone not available to get started on their project, he squeezed me in right away after signing up with him. He knew I had a dire need since I was going to have a patio cover installed in a few days and I needed someone to do the concrete asap. The patio cover company was fantastic but their concrete guy was so shady that I just told them I would be looking for someone else to do my concrete. What's so great about Jose is that he takes his time and wants to be certain what you like and absolutely don't like prior to getting started. He actually does the work and isn't one of those bosses that has his workers do the work and then leaves the scene. After my project was completed, one of my neighbors wished he could have done his concrete project with Jose since the company he hired unfortunately left his project sloppy to say the least. I will provide pictures to show the incredible work done by J.R. Concrete. Beautiful and all about quality! I love everything about the project and I do blame myself for only one thing I did not like - that was some brick ribbons on the front pathway. I like the bricks but I did not like the color and wish I would have picked those out instead. Other than this, everything else makes up for that insignificant thing that is not a deal breaker. They have an amazing work ethic, do the job right, on time and at the quoted price. Jose at JR Concrete and Landscape is a class act. He originally performed our backyard remodel years ago, which we absolutely love by the way! The standout feature is our light up water fountain that is built into our wall. Everyone that comes over comments how "they want one too". Well, years have passed, and the sealer has naturally faded and weakened. I called Jose to schedule a repair - and not only did he complete the repair, he refused payment stating "I stand by my work." The Italian in me refused to accept that, and after several attempts to force the payment on him, he remained firm that this repair was included in his warranty for his work. I've worked with many contractors throughout my life and Jose is by far one of the best I've dealt with from start to finish. My wife and I scheduled an appointment for a quotation, and Jose was punctual and collaborated well with us. We discussed our vision for the project and Jose gave us his opinion on what would look good and the most cost effective ways to achieve it. After several years of having large trees in my backyard, our concrete became unsafe and needed replacement. I contacted Jose and he communicated clearly the steps of the project, cost, and schedule. The backyard was sloped correctly for proper drainage and compacted road base was placed under the slab to ensure consistent thickness and that the slope lasts. The artificial turf area was also sloped to maintain the drainage and looks great. Weed barriers were placed in the planters and they were also sloped correctly. We made a few changes over the course of the project and at every step we discussed the cost impact prior to the work and there were no surprises. Jose left my property clean at the end of every day, communicated clearly what was next on the schedule, was respectful of my neighborhood, and did an outstanding job. I called Jose after many false starts with other landscaping companies. People would schedule appointments and not show up. Some would show up to the initial appointment and I'd never hear from them again. I had one company simply toss out a cost and I asked what does that include and his response was "go on the internet and get ideas". Really, isn't that your job and how did you come up with a price then? In a last ditch effort to find a landscaper before doing it myself I contacted Jose. He immediately made an appointment, showed up on time, was incredibly friendly and wow does he know his stuff. I gave him some initial thoughts of what I liked and he took it from there. What impressed me the most was how clean he always left my yard after each work day. They would sweep, cover materials, place safety cones around the work area and always made sure my wife and I had a clear path to pull our cars into the driveway and garage. He also went around and checked the watering system for the areas previously done and fixed the system to allow proper watering my matching the water output to each plant and tree so ones that needed less received less and the plants and trees that needed more received more water.
