I needed a concrete pad poured for where my garbage cans are. The Mr. Mudd concrete crew came and prepped the site for the pad. These guys are awesome! Zim, Tony, Austin, Will, Mumda and Bunda worked their tails off removing a bunch of dirt to level the area and then compacted it for the pour. I highly recommend Mr. Mudd for all of your concrete needs... Mr. Mudd returned today for pouring the cement pad. Today's crew was Amir, James and Jimmy. These guys got right to work prepping the site with plastic to protect the house and fence and then proceeded with the pour. I paid $17k to Mr Mudd in 2023 to repair cracks and stain my concrete patio and walkway. They job looked great when they left but thru the winter the color started to peel off and the cracking areas got worse. we were told we had a 5 year warranty that concrete wouldn't crack anymore in the fixed areas. Over the last two months I've emailed twice asking someone to come look and they have failed to schedule anything . Only after leaving negative comments on their social media did they reach out on schedule an appointment for someone to come look. They were suppose to be here at 10am this morning , they missed the appointment with no call . I call and was told they would see where their person is and call me back, they have never called back. Our concrete external entry and patio was deteriorating. David, a design specialist, came out and reviewed our situation. He introduced us to Vuba Stone. We were impressed by the product and the variety of colors. He gave us a bid along with a list of homes where Vuba Stone had been installed so we could make drive by inspections. We liked what we saw so we agreed to his proposal plus we were going to have them take care of all the cracks and seams in our driveway. On 4/7 we got a call from Hudson telling us that he and his crew (Francois, Josh, Dom, David and trainee Trent) were on their way. They were the prep crew for the Vuba Stone installation and took care of the driveway. They were excellent in communicating with us and, when we had questions, they were prompt with answers and recommendations. Because of rain, the installers called to say they would arrive Wednesday. They were there on time. Each had their special tasks and worked well together. For me the installation of the Vuba Stone was an interesting process to watch. Their work was 99% perfection. And that 1% required a follow-up visit which they immediately handled. Their transformation of our external entry and patio was amazing! It seems that negative reviews are being removed. I put a review a few weeks ago and it seems to have disappeared? Long story short as I do not want to rewrite the whole review again. I was quoted 4K-9K to have my patio and driveway leveled and repaired. I went with the 7K option and after they were done they were not able to get my back patio level. I was advised that it is as good as it is going to get. The more I walk over the unleveled area the more frustrated I get that I spent 7,000 dollars and they couldn't fix my main concern. I would hope there was some kind of guarantee or partial refund for not doing what they said they would. They were professional and on time but way over priced for something that looks as bad as mine does. Wonder if this review will be removed? read more

These guys pored a driveway on the side of my house a couple of years ago. I made it clear to both the estimator and the foreman I wanted it to match the existing driveway. Not only was the finish and color wrong, but the expansion cuts didn't match the existing drive. I called the foreman, who never returned my call and went to their office and asked for someone to call me but no one ever did. You might as well go down to the local bar and hire a couple of those guys, you would probably get better quality and a similar warranty. So I usually don't give out bad reviews, but after spending 12 grand with this company to pour our back patio and a new driveway and having it crack 6 months later in the front and the back looks like crap 2 years later, I have to say something. They don't answer phone calls in their office, they don't return your phones calls until the 4th one which usually is a nasty one and then they call you right away . We picked out colored cement, the border turned out great, the rest of the cement is not show room worthy. I will have to paint over it . The front cracked 6 months after it was poured , they tried to come out and fill the crack but that made it worse. Had to basically start leaving ugly voice mails and emails until Brian came out and agreed with me that it was not fixed properly. This was January 2017, in April 2018 , they finally came out and redid the cracked section. They couldn't promise me that the color would match the other sections because their color supplier had gone out of business,but they would try and get as close as possible. The sections aren't even close, day and night difference. I called and of course no return response, called again and again. Finally gave up and text their field guy Ardi that I was moving on without them and that I would never refer them to anyone . 12,000.00 for crappy cement with corners from the cuts are either chipping or missing. If you are looking for cement work , stay away from Mr.Mudd. If you are looking to do cement work , you are welcome to come by and take a look for your self at their quality of work. They replaced my patio and driveway since the concrete was crumbling. The driveway turned out decent but when they poured the patio they didn't replace my condensation drain so it leaked water on the fresh patio for two days(see pictures) and stained my brand new patio. Looks horrible, especially when I paid $6,000 for the job. Ardi was the one I dealt with but didn't fix it or try to make it right. I would recommend someone else for concrete. read more

This review is in regards to the bid. I will update or leave a separate review for the actual job. I called several companies to get a bid on having a patio poured in our backyard as well as one in our side yard. The backyard patio I want to have a stamped edge following the outer curb. The first company was US Rio's Concrete who was on the list with home advisor. I don't have a bad thing to say about them. They showed up on time, the bid was the most inexpensive and they could schedule the job for the following week. The second company was Idaho Home Exteriors and I was shocked by the arrogance of the man who came out. His bid was for $11,000 which is over double ALL other bids. He spoke very negatively about the other companies in the area. The third was Advanced Concrete. He was a no show for the first appointment but was on time for the second but forgot his measuring tape, pen, paper, just about everything. He gave me an idea of the cost but would get back with me for the estimate. Never received it. Called many times, left several messages, nothing. He's out. A-1 gave an appropriate bid but their bid details were lacking. Am I going to get charged more for the stamp? Did this include fixing the concrete piece that we discussed? I want every detail mentioned so there would be no surprises later. Bicknell Builders had such fantastic reviews that I told my husband, hands down, if his bid was appropriate, I'm hiring him on the spot. Not one negative review. But then he never showed up. Again...and again...and again. If you can't make your appointments then what is the reliability like on the job? He's out. What a shame. Then finally Byron with Mr. Mudd came out. Great guy, very personable. I received the bid via email and every single detail was included in the bid. Exactly what I am looking for. We accepted the bid. He was on time, quick to respond to emails and very professional. We went to the showroom floor and picked out our color and stamp and then added stamping to the whole thing in the backyard since we liked it so much. The front desk lady was professional and sweet. Very fast to respond. We were put on the schedule for the end of October which is bummer but if they are booked out, guess people really like their business is how I look at it. So now we wait for the job to be completed and I have no anxiety over our selection. I will update on the job itself when that is completed, but so far in the process, I'm very satisfied. Picking a company is very overwhelming to me and I just want to make sure we make the right pick with a reputable company that will do a good job on time and do it right! I think Mr. Mudd fits that bill. Oh, not counting the guy with the outrageous bid, Mr. Mudd was actually the highest but I expect quality work and I don't think I'll be disappointed. Edit: Love it! Please be professional and aware of your surroundings and the fact that you are working around people's homes. What a disappointment - poor customer interaction and difficult to work with. I contacted Mr. Mudd to pour a custom designed patio, after several conversations I received an estimate. The estimate was rather high and they changed much of the design. They came out again to go over the details, when they realized that the sketch on the estimate was not what I wanted they became frustrated. The person who came out didn't want to redraw or take new measurements, he ended the conversation and left. For obvious reasons, we decided not to go with Mr. Mudd. I found them to be very unprofessional, and I don't recommend doing business with them. On another, related note - I found Modern Concrete to be very accommodating, friendly, and reasonably priced - they were able to do what Mr. Mudd couldn't. read more

My husband called to have someone come out to give us an estimate for a concrete patio. He made an appointment but it took a week or two. After the person came out he said he'd text an estimate within the next week. No estimate. My husband called. They said they'd get one out the next week. Three weeks now, no estimate. If they're are too busy, or this is too small a project for them, a courtesy call would have been appreciated. read more

Mr Mudd put in a concrete driveway on the side of our house in August of 2019.  I told both the estimator and the foreman I wanted it to look like our driveway which would be connected to it. On the contract they had 'broom finish' which I assumed was the same as our driveway since I told both men that what I wanted. Plus who would think a person would want two completely different finishes?  After it was finished I could see it was completely different.  It looks BAD as the finish does not match the other driveway.  After I realized this, I left a message with the foreman (which was not returned)  A week later I went to their office to pay the remainder of the money I owed.  At that time  I told the secretary to have the foreman give me a call and told her what the issue was, she wrote it down and said he will be calling you.  When I again did not hear from him I figured that's how they operate; do the job, collect the money, and forget about the customer.  Over the past few months every time I look at it I get irritated. Mr. Mudd came out, was on time and was very informative! He told me I only needed to power wash my drive way and IF I wanted I could put a sealant for moisture. It was not a necessity to put a sealant on it. He told me where I could buy the sealant as well. He looked at a crack in the cement and said not to worry about it. Someone else would have been glad to say I need whatever to make a few bucks. I'm responding to the owner's response and updating to 1 star from my original for many reasons. First, I was contacted by the owner who accused me of lying in my review. Mostly because I made my review nearly a year after the negative experience. I don't believe there is a statute on when you can voice on Yelp and the experience absolutely stuck with me because of multiple interactions and communication with the rep and the way it was left so I'm positive I have the right company in this review and am astounded at the accusation. I guess I'm only sorry I didn't review the day it happened when I was really upset so it would be considered valid. Secondly, I made the review later because we have received wonderful experiences from other companies recently and I believe this company and consumers should be aware that service is above and beyond elsewhere. I'm not trying to have a battle with anyone on this, but this was the actual experience so take what you'd like from it. I will address the other items from the response I received so I can best clarify my original review. Next, I was advised just recently by the owner that my review doesn't line up because this company does not do "curbing" or "edging" and it is sourced to a 3rd party contractor so they wouldn't have quoted me for that. I find that very interesting because we were measured by the rep for a 6 inch wide/ 12 inch high border along the front of our house for flower beds. I specifically recall this because Byron (rep) asked me how big I wanted the curbing and I said let's do a similar size to the current brick edging we have and we measured with my personal measuring tape. He drew it in a sketch that I have documentation of edging from a copy of his drawing that was sent to me. Also - during the follow up appointment to measure for more edging to be done around a tree out front was never once relayed that this was a 3rd party contractor. It was at this point that the rep said he would have to redraw everything if we wanted curbing around the tree and he wasn't willing to do that and it would cause our cost to jump excessively from the initial indication, which is why I stated the quote was nearly 10K- as we were advised by the rep who said to add the extra edging our cost would be closer to 10K. I ALSO emailed the rep and his manager with a copy of his drawing and said we wanted clarification on how the walkway would be poured because the drawing from the rep was not as we expected or discussed. It was at this point we said we wouldn't move forward unless we could review that and get on the same page and we were happy to do so. These interactions were all BEFORE a manager was scheduled to come out and review finalities. Finally, the owner states that their rep would never tell a customer to send in their own measurements. I agree that they shouldn't ever, but I'm telling you he did so I don't have more proof then that and that I thought it was inappropriate that he told me to do so when he'd taken all the time to actually measure. The rep was ignorant towards us, said he wouldn't redo or change anything and that we should just "send our measurements in." We told him we were done working with him at that point and he threw his hands up and stormed off saying, "I don't have time for this." Later his manager called my phone and asked if the rep had injured his hand at our home during the meeting, to which we said no, he was there all of 5 min, got upset and left. We followed up with our email expressing our lack of confidence in the job and declining to move forward. So that is the experience we had, it was not top notch service and again and I'm glad I spoke up, regardless of how long it took me to do so should not be a factor to the ill experience. Glad others have been able to have good service, guess we had a rep who had a bad day. Honestly, I'm a really easy going person to work with, I don't like making negative reviews, we weren't trying to be difficult. Up until the last interaction we were excited to proceed on and were ready to pick a color for the concrete, it wasn't until we had requested the additional curbing/edging around the tree and asked to go over the design of the walkway did it all get so odd and negative. read more

When they came out for the estimate, I think it was the owner and he was very helpful and knowledgeable. He instill confidence in us. We talked about what we wanted and when they could do the work. We sorted out the details and then the start date came and went with no one arriving to do anything. Later they did the work, but left tools and garbage all over the yard. When it rained, the water pooled in the patio and the owner came out again. "I wouldn't have poured it that way" was his response... A few days later they came out unannounced and cut a two foot section out of the patio to create a slope for the water, but no one poured the new sloped section. It just sat there incomplete for over a week. When it was finished, I pointed out these difficulties (and the fact that they left footprints in the patio) and was told "Well, it's really hard to find good concrete guys."
