I've stayed in many motels over the years... Nice staff, but a complete dive. I was told they were renovating soon, but that didn't comfort me at all.
Was first given keys to a room that had dead bugs on the kitchenette floor and counter, big black pubes in the shower and on the toilet. Crumbs (I hope) on the top cover of my bed, and many more dark ball hairs and crumbs underneath. The heavy blast of febreze that hit me when turning back the sheets made me think these sheets are rarely, if ever changed.
To top it off, there were blood stains on the front of the bathroom door, and a big drop of blood on the wall just above the back of the toilet.
... After requesting a new room and explaining why to the disbelieving owner (who happily obliged once I produced pictures upon denial) I was in another room in minutes.
New room was cleaner, and bigger, but the floor was on such a steep grade that a ball placed at the door on the right side would roll quickly to the back left corner.
Sleeping and relaxing on what felt like a 20 year old mattress on a slanted decline made for a super sleeping environment. Hot water took 3-5 min to kick in, and stayed moderately warm for half the length of an enjoyable shower.
I was unfortunate to have to stay here for a week and a half, but am still alive (although I think I should get a hep shot after that first room).... People on either side of me were some of the most inconsiderate douchebags I've ever encountered, and the area itself is not what I'd call scummy, but it's not great.
A one night stay in a room that may be renovated sounds ok, but if it's not, and u just need a room to bleed and barf in, the Beacon Hill Motel will surely meet your needs. read more
