This is a horribly managed place. Patrons are treated like cattle forced to wait 1-2 hours to eat while empty tables are available. We were insulted by Stephanie at the front desk. The four of us are locals and would be profitable to Beacon 70 as we would be regulars if treated with respect. We will never go to Beacon 70 again. Many of our friends feel the same way. read more

This is my 2nd time coming here and I must say the food is budget friendly and it's really good. Pockets the bartender was AMAZING!! He was very friendly, courteous and helped us with our drink choice. He was very tentative! Food came out nice and hot and I a timely fashion! Definitely coming again with more friends. The owners did a nice job on renovating the old Pilot House and the food is average. Very dangerous blind entrance off of route 70, watch out you can get rear ended easily entering. People behind the bars are not on their game.You can sit forever waiting for a drink and smiling once in a while would be welcoming. We had an ok experience here. We went on a Monday so we got $1 oysters which were actually really good. The strawberry sangria was fruity and delicious. I ordered the short ribs which was flavorful but chewy. The mashed potatoes that came with it were good but some of the root veggies were a little undercooked. The chocolate bombe was good. The service was a bit off. There were 4 of us at the table and it seemed like it would've been a better table for 2 people. Half of us didn't have utensils and it took forever for them to get us the missing utensils. The waitress would stop by for a split second and quickly vanish. It took a long time for our used plates to get taken away and our waters never got refilled. On a plus side though, the food did come out quickly. read more

I well enjoyed the Pilot House, the location's former (twice back) incarnation, and was sorry to see it go. So when visiting Beacon 70 first in May and then again in June, I was pleasantly surprised by the changes to what was already in all ways a very appealing destination. Set along an inland marina, the round, glass and/or open sided structure is now less shanty-ish, and significantly more light and contemporary. At once a sports bar, local watering hole, and a comfortable family restaurant, the designer managed to integrate the somewhat opposing elements very skillfully. And for whatever it might mean to you, there is at least one preposterously oversized high top bar table (and two stools) comprising a small segment of their dividing line. I imagine you'll either be delighted or appalled by the novelty if asked to utilize it, depending upon your personality (and perhaps agility and fitness levels). Food-wise, the eclectic menu covers quite a few vegetarian bases in all courses so, points already. To start though, (we) would have preferred the artichoke spinach dip appetizer with the usual (lighter and salted, as both are warranted) chips rather than bland pita wedges in a we appreciate innovation but it needs to be an actual improvement for it to make sense kinda way. So much so that we forewent the selection on the second trip. Offering both a grilled vegetable sandwich and a veggie burger shows appreciation, though the latter was merely acceptable, and a tad (I don't know that I've ever typed the word tad before...) sweet, on my first trip. To get my artichoke fix on the second (Remember we skipped the dip then (Pay attention...).), I chose the artichoke spinach pie as my entrée. Was way too large for one person, but very good, and in a parlor-ish--not charred thin crust (which I also enjoy)--way. I was not unhappy about taking a slice home. But for sure my/our favorite thing about both nights was the chocolate bombe, whose rather misleading menu description didn't do justice, with the expected emphasis on its described elements actually reversed, and for the positive. Cooler, lighter, all round summer weather-y better. If so inclined, I recommend it a lot. read more

The wait for a table was good, about 5 minutes, the wait for the food was another story, we ordered appetizers and meals, appetizer took over 30 minutes to arrive. 1 appetizer pickle fries arrived after we ate the meals. Lunch took almost 2 hours, way too long for pizza,wings and grilled cheese. Food was good but waiting 2 hours for it. Waitress never came to table to tell us there was a delay so I assume this is the usual. Will not back, too many other bar and grills in area. read more

Came here on a Friday night with a party of people around 930pm. Perfect timing as the party atmosphere started to pick up right as we were leaving. Lot of places to go for a night out around this area, but I'm here about the food. I wouldn't give it a 70, I would give it at least a 90 haha. Anyway, I had cheeseburger sliders that were excellent, and perfectly filling for someone who wants to share or not fill up on a huge sandwich. Other slider options include lobster, pulled pork, and chicken too. They had a lot of options for apps and drinks. We split a very nice spinach/artichoke dip that they even gave us extra pita bread for. I also shared a piece of pineapple/ham pizza. I don't care what Gordon Ramsay says, I'm all for pineapple on my pizza especially if it's coming from here! This place is great for families in the early evening and the party crowd on those summer nights, they even offer a deal for 2 dollars off your drinks when you text a number to the restaurant. Went here for a friends birthday for a few drinks. Waitress did not attend to table at all. 30 minutes for first round of drinks to be delivered. Went to tip 15% based on performance alone when another waitress came by and sincerely apologized. After thought, we gave a 20% tip. So after receiving terrible service and still tipping 20%, we were ran out of the place and were told to never come back if we were mean to the waitress again? Crissy...shame on you. Well this was my first and probably my last visit there. It came recommended by a neighbor. Let me say the first impression of a restaurant is the hostess and this hostess needed to be fired and I told the manager this and he was so nonchalant about it that it shows the integrity of this restaurant. I asked for a window table and was told it would be a long wait and there was a high top available. I asked if a window table opened up soon could we move. We sat at the high top and not 10 minutes later a table opened up at the window. I went to the hostess and asked her if we could move and mind you we had nothing served to us yet as we had waited awhile for a server to come. She hemmed and hawed and said well I promised that table to someone else. I said I asked you first for that table. She said well I just took a reservation for that table. Well it was 15-20 minutes till anyone came and sat down at that table. In the mean time another table opened and again I asked her to move us and she completely ignored me. That table sat empty Thru out our whole meal. I personally would have gotten up and just sat there but the guests I had brought there I didn't not feel comfortable making a big scene. But I made a point to tell thw manager on the way out and his comment was I don't know why she. Wouldn't move you. She was rude and disgusting and she should have been fired. As far as the food. It was so so. Not worth the hype. Or the price. And with service they lost what could have been a regular customer because I just moved in the area. The waiter was good. I'm sure in this area with the restaurants hurting I can certainly find better places more worthy of my money. The service getting the food was extremely slow and we had to ask where our food was it was taking so long and it wasn't even crowded. It was 11:30 on a Monday. Went this Friday for the first time . Wanted to wait a bit since they just opened . Decor beautiful . Waited about 25 minutes for a table not that bad . Went to the first bar ordered a few drinks . Reasonably priced on the drinks . Super friendly bar staff . They texted me when our table was ready. Sat by the firewall . Had the lobster bisque soup loaded with fresh seafood . They had a good dj very diverse crowd of people. We just had simple appetizers and cocktails . We moved into the other bar area there were seats by the open windows with views of the water will def be a great place in the summer . We had a super friendly bartender named Marc . They also have complimentary valet parking as well . Place is warm and inviting will def be back . Great first experience for our girls night out read more

My Wife and I were Completely Disrespected by Management after frequenting this Establishment since it opened 6+ years ago. Dont go on Football Sundays if you are a Giants/Jets Fan. After watching 20 minutes of the Game with 2 other couples (This game comes on every 4 years and is as local of teams as you get) the Manager Vinny decided to change the the TV in font of us to another game without notifying us as the other people were complaining they could not watch the Steelers . Mind you we were there and eating 1 1/2 hours before and the other Loud bunch sat down. The Manager told us there was no recourse other than watching a different out of view TV. After I we let him know we were there long before the other buch, he then Screamed and Yelled at us in front of all the other Patrons and Staff, I never felt SO Embarassed and Angry. WE will never be going back. I will take my thousands a year spent there and go someplace else. We deemed the place as "Family", I guess that was Completely WRONG! This could have been handled so much differently but it wasnt. I always looked past all the shortcomings of the Place that people in these reviews write, but never would I have imagined I would be screamed at in front of so many people by someone I deemed a friend. read more

This is my third time eating and drinking at Beacon 70 and I have to say that the place has potential but will slowly start to lose customers as it predecessors due to poor service and disorganized staff. Tonight the server Sherry not only got our order wrong but she rarely checked on us to ensure we had the condiments on the table we needed. Our sweet pot fries were not ordered. This is my first visit here for brunch. I probably will not be back for brunch, but, I will give it a fair chance and try a dinner here. As far as brunch is concerned, the plates were hotter than the food. The food quality was mediocre at best. The atmosphere was cool and the decor was fresh and made the place energetic. Plenty of tv screens to watch any sporting event. The waitstaff, again, mediocre at best. No water was offered, we had to ask. Asked for a table for 3 of us, only 2 place settings. No big deal, but, we had to ask 4 times for another place setting. Overall, I will try this place again. Hopefully with better results. read more

I've been here several times and each one I leave with mixed feelings. The location on the water is great. The decor/ambiance I absolutely love. Their service is very good and generally the appetizers have always come out tasty. However, every entree I've had is subpar. This last visit I got the skirt steak. Here's the thing about skirt steak, you must cook it hot and fast in order to achieve the crispy outside but still tender inside. What I received was basically a chewy bloody mess. I like a rare meat, however this didn't measure up to any kind of decent meat I've ever had. I will definitely go back again, but maybe I've learned my lesson and will just stick to appetizers and drinks. read more

We visited this restaurant twice last few months. First time on a Sunday lunch, last night dinner. I desperately do not want to blame the waiter/waitress, but the service is just not good. Nicest folks served us both times, but last night was 1 hour and 15 minutes from seating until dinner arrived. Took 15 minutes to be acknowledged when sat down. Couldn't get attention or refills. 1 simple app took forever to come out and extra chips took another 15 minutes. Food was pretty good, but not worth the crazy long time it took. If I could give 0 stars I would. Our group made reservations almost a month ago for a birthday dinner for Saturday. We show up and the table they had ready for us wasn't even enough to fit the people we had in our party. Not to mention they had our party at 2 separate tables. I'm sorry but if I make a reservation for 10 adults and 3 children for almost a month in advance I figured we would be all at the same table. Guess not. So to "fix" the problem they had to add more tables and it still wasn't enough to where the whole group could be together. So the reason the manager gave us as to why it was messed up was because the computer system was down for a few hours. So because of that they had no clue what reservations they had and just gave the biggest table away to a walk in group when it should have been ours. I dont understand why they didn't look up the reservations as soon as the system came back up? We even called at 5 to confirm our reservation at 6 and nothing was said to us then. Overall terrible management running that place. Not once did they come back to the table to check on their mess up. The birthday was ruined because people were separated from the group the entire time. People drove hours to sit away from family. So sad. The food wasn't even good either. One of the guests found who knows what in their mashed potatoes. Haven't been there since it was the pilot house and will not be going back. 0/10 do not recommend and don't waste your time. read more

Always a good time at Beacon 70. Huge menu and large portions. 2 big bars with even bigger Tv's! We always have great and prompt service too. The atmosphere is also really cool too. Love the tall cieling in the main bar when you walk in and the vast amount of windows. Great waterfront views. Parking can be scarce though, just a heads up. I love coming to this restaurant. The ambience is nice, the bartenders are friendly, and I haven't had a meal here that I didn't like. There is often evening entertainment which is a plus. I think there is valet on weekends which I don't always love, but is a great option for some. There is a Sunday brunch with an incredible spread and bottomless mimosas and a Bloody Mary bar. I can't recall the price but I remember it being very affordable. Will continue to come. read more

Excellent restaurant and bar! The food is all delicious, especially the coconut shrimp and chicken tacos and their dip with chips is wonderful! The wait staff are friendly and bend over backwards to make sure everyone is served quickly and properly. Highly recommend to anyone in the surrounding Brick area. We were seated on the back deck and had the great fortune of being served by Chrissy, probably the most attentive bartender/server we have ever enjoyed. An awesome menu and a very pleasant atmosphere overlooking the marina was a lovely dining location. The yellow tuna app was a hit. Our young teens loved the calamari and the wings. The sliders, both Cuban and short rib, were wonderful. We went on Wednesday evening for the lobster special - delicious all around. The Mac and cheese burgers were devoured. We have been going to this restaurant for many years, in the past 2 years starting in 2020 we have observed this place going downhill. the service is poor. the servers are not trained and understaffed we decided to give it a shot again. So we went tonight, 9/14/22 and both eagerly, decided on the steamed whole lobster and we shared a coconut shrimp appetizer! the shrimp came out and was a bit disappointing (12.50 appetizer) they tasted like grocery store pre frozen fare. Average at best. we were excited to see the lobsters and as we started to remove the meat from the tails we noticed it was all soft and mushy like it had gone bad or was cooked dead? the claws were tiny and the meat actually had black spots. YUCK. my wife was totally turned off as was I. we told the waitress that we could not eat the lobster as it was bad and showed her the black claw meat and poked the mushy tail meat. We asked her to tell the chef. she took it to her manager and he did offer two new lobsters -but we declined as we had lost our appetites. Thankfully, they agreed and did take the cost of the lobsters off our bill. (sole reason for the 1 star review) we could see how one lobster could be bad but both?-seemed like less of a coincidence. we felt the chef was careless in offering that meal to their customers. Those lobsters should have been discarded and not have been cooked or served unfortunately this kind of thing has turned us off to this place and we will not be returning stay away do not recommend read more
