A great time at Happy Hour yesterday. Was a beautiful afternoon and the back bar was buzzing. Great $5 pizzas. Bartenders were attentive and taking care of business. It was spectacular when they opened up the back windows overlook the Marina and the breeze came in. Beautiful bartender Marina was on point. There was an awesome duo playing and really had a great repertoire and wasn't too loud like so many bar bands. I will definitely be back! read more

Our party was seated right away with of 6 people....our server was very nice & made good recommendations...we got the drunken clams, tuna bites & a bunch of entrees - everything was delicious! Really wish they had outdoor seating as the view is pretty cool, also very loud so would be nice to have an outdoor space. I'm literally at the restaurant now and I know their food is good but the quality of service is horrible. We called a few days in advance for a reservation and they said they don't take more then 20 reservations a day so there is a limit to how many they take. Even if they have no reservations for the time you need. We've been here for two hours and finally got a table after waiting and pushing the hostess to give us one of the open tables because the other group wouldn't get up which is understandable but there were other tables open. Then when we sat down they had no waiter or waitress so we had to ask three times for someone and finally someone came. Service is going in the crapper and this is a horrible place to celebrate a birthday. I hate complaining to management or write such negative things but this is beyond ridiculous. read more

Bad, really really bad. Drove 45 minutes to try this restaurant after hearing fabulous reviews. The hostess was very nice and let us pick where we wanted to sit. After sitting down we realized that the table was sticky and dirty, the booth seats had crumbs all over them, and the utensils were not cleaned. We ordered buffalo wings and pulled chicken nachos for appetizers. BUFFALO WINGS: crispy, nice flavor, very good PULLED CHICKEN NACHOS: horrible, just horrible. it was more like a salad with a side of chips. there was no cheese and the chips were burnt. the chicken was bland and there was so much lettuce. It took a long time for our appetizers to come out and then 2 minutes after finishing, our entrees were brought out :( Also the food runners handed us our plates, which were very very hot, without any warning. Most of us ordered burgers because we were told they were phenomenal. That is definitely not the case. Why would you serve a burger in a bowl? The bottom of the bun was soggy and soaked. The burger patty was bland and there was more lettuce and tomato than the burger patty. The french fries that I ordered extra crispy were soggy and tasteless. I also ordered a side of onion rings which were crunchy but dripping in oil. We left very very disappointed and unimpressed. Such a fun, unique, and vibey experience. Both the drink and dinner menu are extensive and offer something for everyone. The food overall can be described as traditional with a twist and kick. To start, we got the cheeseburger spring rolls which were amazing and left you full yet you find yourself trying to stuff the last one with the cheese sauce in your mouth. For entrees, we got the salmon and mahi mahi. Both were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. To cap it off, we got the Neapolitan ice cream roll...and it was huge, rich, soft, and everything you would want in a dessert. The service was amazing as well! While some places become overwhelmed on weekends causing service to be a drag, Beacon 70 takes the contained crazy and runs with it. Love this place! Busy and hopping bar area in addition to the dining area. The menu is varied with a great selection of traditional American fare with seafood, steak, great apps and a nice selection of salads as well. For the sports fans they have a great sports bar feel to the bar area with lots of choices to watch. I always have raw oysters or clams and they never disappoint. read more

Went here for a girls night out with some friends. The wait for the table was longer than we expected on a Thursday night but once we were seated the evening went smoothly. Drink orders we're taken and delivered fairly quickly and the food didn't take too long to come out. I had the crabby burger. The fries were thin strips of real potato... Well done, Nice and crispy. The crab wasn't a prominent flavor in the sandwich at all and it honestly didn't add much interest. I'd order a different burger next time. The burger was tasty overall and the fixins were fresh. I enjoyed that there was a tasty habenero hot sauce available as a standard condiment on the table! Our waitress was attentive and refilled our drinks a couple of times. So we have been dying to try out this place by boat. Minus it being a very windy day parking by boat was not a problem! My friends got the short ribs with mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes which was very good. My bf enjoyed the calamari and his margarita pie. I had the crab cake started with the lemon mustard sauce and also chipotle mayo which were both excellent! My only hopes is they add a crab cake sandwich on a bun or roll with one of those sauces to the menu! Lobster Mac and cheese side was also fantastic! BUYER BEWARE!! CHECK YOUR RECEIPT!! Went there about a month ago with a party of 8 and spent over $400 that night. Food was OK, service was below average (waitress would disappear for long stretches of time and forget to bring requested items altogether), but that's not what really got me. Several people in our party ordered 50 cent wings that night off the Special. When the bill came the full price was charged in the details section and down below the difference was subtracted out to reflect the Special price. (I'm not sure why they just don't change the pricing in their register program that day.) The only problem was it wasn't actually subtracted out of the total even though it appeared it was. When I pointed it out to the waitress she went to the manager and came back and said it was right. I had to sit down and calculate the bill myself to show her it was not deducted. This whole ordeal took 15-20 minutes with my party sitting there waiting. At the end of it all, the manager said "sorry" and comped NOTHING off the bill. BAD BUSINESS to deceive your customers then to not even attempt to monetarily make it right. I don't care how popular this place is, if you ripoff your customers eventually they will stop dining there. read more

Went here tonight with a friend for a late lunch and drinks. Bar area was super loud and although we were seated in another area, I still had to shout so my friend could hear me. Our server took awhile to bring our drinks, but hey!...you can't screw up wine. Had fried calamari and short rib nachos for apps. Calamari was decent; nice flaky breading; good dipping sauce. Nachos, not so much. Very little cheese and we had to dig around to find the very small amount of short rib on the plate. French onion thyme pizza for an entree; could only eat one slice. No sign of thyme but instead, lots and lots of salt! It's been six hours since I ate, and I still can't stop drinking water! Overall, two stars...one for the calamari, one for the wine. Lost me on the absurd noise level, slow and mediocre service, ridiculous amount of salt and nachos lacking in just about everything. Will not return. read more

The only reason I am giving 3 stars is because of the wonderful servers like Chrissy, Nicole, Dale etc. today I was approached at my car door about my "horrible parking job" by the manager Peter. Rude and condescending. I am a regular customer here and he put such a bad taste in my mouth that I don't know if I will ever be returning. That is how you speak to your loyal, paying, regular customers? Mind you, I was parked in the back of restaurant, on a week day and there was only one other car in the whole lot (which was probably his) by marina. Yes, my back left tire was just on the white line, with no car next to me and not taking up two spots by any means. Even the other patrons were taken back that he would approach me at my vehicle like that, especially as a "manager". Otherwise, great food, atmosphere, lunch specials, and amazing service from THE SERVERS. I am quite taken back being I have been a manager at other facilities before myself. Shame on you Peter. First time visit since the Pilot House. What a transformation. From the Nautical decor to the food variety. Two big bars. One inside and one outside. I ordered the Beacon 70 tower which has clams, oysters, shrimp, crab cocktail, tuna tartare and whole lobster. Two much for two but so looking forward to eating it. First time visit, most likely the last, nothing special, run of the mill bar/restaurant. Much better food around for your money. Pizza was OK, the guacamole appetizer was very good. The boneless wings were a joke, barely any sauce on them whatsoever, it was like they couldn't even be bothered. For a place on the water, they have the windows blocked with bench seats that take away half of your view. Service was adequate, not great,Most of the employees didn't look like they really care to be there one way or another. This is our first time visiting Beacon 70 we sat at the bar and it was not busy. It took a good 10 minutes before being acknowledged. We asked for drink & food menus. We ordered a pitcher of vodka and club, it was a total of two drinks so cheaper to get single drinks, they overfilled pitcher with ice and each glass with MORE ice. We ordered the hummus appetizer very very bland, we did not eat the rest, the bartender did remove it off the bill (I did not even ask to remove it, she just seen we did not eat it so there's a plus) my husband ordered the Mac & cheese burger , no complaints there he actually really enjoyed the Mac. I ordered the Kale salad which was enjoyable. Sadly, My husband was sipping on melted ice the rest of he time here not once was he asked if he wanted another drink (this is what he is most upset about)! It took a good 20 minutes for us to get ANYONES attention for a box and then a total of about 1/2 hour for someone to realize my credit card has been sitting on the counter to pay the bill. The 2 stars are food the actual dinners and bartender realizing we ate none of the hummus. Let me also mention the cup my husband was given with water was filthy and the lime I was given was a home for an ant (I didn't even tell the bartender because I didn't want her thinking I wanted a "free drink"). So after about 4 years we gave them another try. Somewhat better, still, poorly run. We read during the Football season buffet ends at 12:30 ... really. So we get there at 11:15, and no one acknowledges us until 11:30. Food was OK, good bacon, kid making omelets, and cutting prime rib was pleasant. Prime rib was very good. No starch to go with any of the entrees except "made to order" pasta. Heated in a pan. I tried 2x and both times is was lukewarm. They have no boiling water to put pasta back in. I set my phone for 12:12 for a last pass. Got up there at 12:15 guy cooking GONE, food was being taken away. He comes back and says the buffet is over. I said it's 12:15. We just do what we're told. What do you want, ask for pasta, slice of prime rib. A different guy cuts prime rib and apologizes saying it's not THEM. I said I understood. They even took away a small table with desserts. Ask for the manager who was less than warm. Told her the issue, well we clean up for football. I said I know but the menu says 12:30. Well there wasn't much foot traffic. When I was waiting 2 people came up for omelets and were turned away. OK but it says 12:30. Nothing I can do, you want a discount ... sure. Measly 15%! If this is policy 10 minutes before breakdown have each waitress say that it's last call. It was $30 per person. Not that expensive, but not worth it for 45-50 minutes of eating. read more

I've been in there every week for months. They tried charging me 13 beers and 6 vodkas for 2 people. And charge us 230 bucks. I explained rhee was no way we drank that in 2 hrs. Manager said well maybe your big drinkers. I said fuck u I'll pay it and u will never see me again. He said no problem. That's customer service for u. This restaurant is quite pleasing to the eye. The seating is very comfortable and stylish. The service is friendly. However, there is no sense of urgency. Ordered lobster bisque. It was dark brown. I could taste the lobster a little but it was quite spicy and more like a chowder than a bisque. The calamari was salty and came with a mayo-based dip instead of marinara. Then the plain pizza came out. It was not that good with dry dough. The draft beer was good. The sodas came in pretty glasses that matched the salt and pepper shakers. At night this place may be happening during sports events as they have several large tv's and the beer is good. As for food, there are plenty of other places to go that have good food.
