We only waited about 15 minutes. But the view of the water made the wait enjoyable. The atmosphere was appropriate for a casual place. Lots of dark wood, a bar, booths and, I assume, faux copper ceiling tiles. We were seated in a high table near the window with a view of York River. Our server was great! She helped me make a choice of beer. The double IPA was citrusy which I like. I was torn between the fish tacos, a loaded baked potato with "famous" chili, or grilled crab sandwich. She said beyond a doubt get the tacos. She was so right! I love fish tacos. The Booming Tacos, an off-the-menu item, was over the top. I mean there was so much rockfish it was over the top of the grilled flour tortilla. The moist blackened fish pieces laid atop spring mix and drizzled with a creamy spicy boom boom sauce. My husband had the Rachel, a turkey sandwich on rye with Russian dressing and coleslaw, it came with french fries that seemed to have a bit of a coating that made them very crunchy. Everything was great. If ever back in the area, this will be the place to eat.

Had to add salt and pepper to taste anything and then just didn't even eat 1/2. Paid an extra $1 for cheese and onions on top. I'm talking bye 7 little cheese pieces and the same with tiny onions. Their clam chowder was salty. And other than the fried seafood, it wasn't worth the cost. Need to remind ourselves this is tourist trap with bumped up prices for quickly made (and not properly seasoned) food. Major disappointment and a waste of $30 for a sandwich, fries and a cup of chili

Wow! What an amazing experience…read more We were visiting from Texas and decided to find a restaurant near the waterfront. We stumbled upon this place by accident and we're so glad we did! The hostess was friendly and seated us by a window with a great view. Our server, Jessica S., was fantastic--friendly, upbeat, attentive, and genuinely made our visit enjoyable. An unexpected bonus was that we happened to be seated next to her parents, who were having lunch there as well. They were incredibly warm and welcoming, which made us feel right at home. The food portions were enormous! We thought Texas portions were big, but these were even larger than what we're used to back home. Best of all, the food was absolutely delicious. We only wish we lived closer so we could come back more often. If you're ever in the area, do yourself a favor and give this place a try. And if you can, ask for Jessica--she's amazing and truly made our experience memorable! Jessica - you rock!

We had a party of 5 on a Friday and waited 30 minutes or so to be seated. I got the Seafood Trifecta and substituted the veggies for collard greens. Definitely a great choice! The food came out in a timely manner was served hot and fresh! Very delicious!!! The ambiance is very casual. I'd definitely come back!!

I found this place in yelp and wanted to give it a try. It's in a small strip mall and at first we were afraid they weren't there anymore because there isn't a marquee sign above the restaurant but there is a large smoker truck that looks like it's used for catering that helped us find it. The parking lot was full which blocked the signage on the doors/windows. The inside has a few small tables and a counter to the right to order from with the kitchen behind. There was a few chairs across from the counter to wait for to go orders. You choose your own table after ordering. The owner was personable and chatting an older gentleman that had been there awhile. We later realized he was the owner when he came out to see how our food was. The ribs fell off the bone and the baked beans had ground beef and some peppers. They were delicious and had such good flavor. Rolls were served with the meals. The portions were large and we took home our leftovers. I was a little surprised that our food was served in to go containers even though we asked to dine in. You pick up your own plasticware at the counter where you pick up your order. While it's not a typical sit down place with table service or bar drinks, the food was really good and hot. We'll definitely go again. Also love that it's veteran owned and he's present and cares about the service provided. It was also evident he cares about his staff as we overheard them discussing one of the kids preparing for high school graduation.

To be fair, we do come in with usually at least 10-14 people. The service from everyone here has always been very nice. Conversely, there's only ever been like 1 or 2 staff at most. Service times for when we go aren't what you'd expect from a Mexican restaurant as most places I think almost read your mind when you come in. It's like some sort of magic trick I swear. Anywho - one of the biggest wins for this place are the tacos. Seriously - they're just phenomenal. Last time I was here I got a chicken plate and it was 'ok'... however, learning from what everyone else ordered last time, tacos (flour preferred for me), is the way to go. :) Food Taste: 4 Overall Service: 5 Value of service to cost: 5 Facility: 5 Ambiance: Very open, relaxed. Not a lot of fan fare - mainly simple place to eat Repeat customer: yeah Dog Friendly: no

But I still had this place on my mind to try... Well the Saturday before Christmas, myself and 5 others decided to go out for brunch and this was suggested. I did not know what to expect as I had only heard a few people mention this place, but I was eager to try it. I must say, we arrived right on time. This place seemed small inside at first glance, but from what I know now, they have more seating in the back of the restaurant, but we were able to dine in front near the bar without worry. Our waitress Ms. Vickie was an absolute pleasure! We ordered our drinks and meals... I cannot speak for everyone but for me and mine... My husband had the chicken plate with sides - tore it up! Now me y'all - I decided to order the platter because everything on the platter I liked. I must say in my 40+ years of life, I have never ordered a platter anywhere!!! It is always an item or two I want to sub, but this one here, give it all to me! Now I did ask Ms Vickie if I could get the shrimp steamed... OK fried it is :) For the wings and shrimp you can choose a dipping sauce or have the item sauced (I believe). I opted to have mine on the side. Yall...bomb!! Just bomb!! Everything on the platter was so so so so good! Before the plate reached the table, I told my husband he was gonna have to help me eat it. I didn't need any help if I wanted to be greedy or if I knew it would be that good... but he did eat a few things. He agreed, it was very good! My drinks were superb! Some of the fellas ordered mules - they were pleased! Overall just a great first time! I saw at least one other larger party (10 or 12) near us and Ms Vickie advised a head of time, there would be a wait before placing the order to the kitchen to avoid back up - super understandable, but mentioning that makes all the difference in the world. Now the ball is in our court to wait or leave, that's how I see it. Oh we waited. We enjoyed the atmosphere and our company! Oh no wait for the drinks - they were flowing :) Please hold on to Ms. Vickie - her spirit is amazing and the vibe inside is super high!! Plenty of parking. Have fun and enjoy life :)
