We had an early morning flight and had to be at the airport before 5 a.m. It wasn't until we landed at LAX that I realized I forgot my pack of rubber bands for my 6 day trip!!!! My orthodontist was going to kill me! So we got online to find a local orthodontist and found this orthodontic group close to our hotel. While I am certain it was a very odd request, we asked to purchase a bag of rubber bands from them! They were so helpful in figuring out which specific bands I needed and told us to come on by whenever! We went immediately there and the ladies at the front desk immediately knew who I was and had 2 bags of rubber bands waiting! When I pulled out my wallet they told me not to worry about it and enjoy my trip! How amazing are they! They seriously saved my vacation! I am looking at only another month in braces, who knows if it would have been longer if I wasn't able to wear bands this week! I wish I lived here and could have had the opportunity to be a patient at this office! If they are this amazing to a stranger, surely they are even more amazing for their patients! As someone with significant dental anxiety and past dental trauma, I am always incredibly nervous walking through the door. From the very first phone call this morning, I was treated with genuine kindness and compassion. The woman who helped schedule my appointment was so reassuring and made me feel like I was in good hands before I even arrived. Dr. Tim and his assistant, Maria, were absolutely amazing. They were calm, patient, comforting, and took the time to make sure I felt safe throughout the entire procedure. They never made me feel rushed or judged, and their kindness helped ease a fear I've carried for years. What could have been a terrifying experience ended up being one of the most positive dental visits I've ever had. I'm so grateful for this experience and this office. I never had that problem to any significant degree prior. We're talking... big time. For months, actually. I've had others suggest that perhaps their instruments were not being properly sanitized. I can't say that's true or untrue. What I do know is: when I went in again to get my front teeth fixed, they were confused apparently, and tried to make a mold of my upper, left side molars instead. I let them know, well, fine, just a mix-up. Okay. So they did the mold on my upper front teeth, left it too long, and when they pulled it out, it really hurt and ended up breaking more of my front right incisor. That really upset me. That they have, typically (at least the 3 times I was there) an advertisement in their waiting room for a "chance to win a vacation if you give us a positive review" speaks volumes of their actual competence. That means a lot of the positive reviews here on Yelp. People just hoping to win something. It's pretty shameful. I would recommend finding an actual dentist who knows what they're doing and doesn't try to bribe you into giving them a good review here. I'd give them 0 stars if I could.
