Frankly, I was looking forward to Amazon Prime Days and dreaming of spending too much money on a replacement. Before doing that I decided to have it professionally checked. Looking on Google, I picked the tech closest to my home. It was my lucky day because I met Joey Bond of JB Tech Computer Services. We spoke on the phone, and that same day he spent an hour with me looking at my Dell and discussing exactly what I needed and wanted. I left my laptop overnight and he worked his magic! The next day he came to my home & we spent another hour reviewing the changes. That's quite a lot of time and his price for service was outstanding. Now the my laptop is as good as or better than anything I was planning to purchase at Amazon's much touted sale. My sweet Dell just needed an adjustment or 2 or 3. He let me know Dustin would be calling me to set up a time to come by, which Justin did. I search for a computer repair shop. I found my computer man. I called at 6:15 p.m. which was pretty late. Kevin called back within 10 minutes. He immediately went into solution mode. Over the phone! I was calling to find out where he was located and when I could come by the next day with my computer. But he wanted to try something over the phone to see if I could somehow get into the computer again. Unfortunately it did not work. He told me what was likely the issue and my options. He could have told me to come in and bring my PC and he could have tried to remove the hard drive and move my data over to another machine, etc. But he was very honest and said at this point, given the issue and the fact that the PC was over 5 years old the best thing to do would be to get a new PC. Honesty! I was very thankful to have reached Kevin. I feel like I got straight answers. He was friendly, showed concern, and was quick to call me back. Thank you Kevin! I had one hell of a mess, no internet, could not send or receive e-mails, could not sign-on to any…read moreof my accounts. Receive a call from my bank that someone tried to transfer $2500 out of one of my accounts. Made a call to My Computer Man he was here in last then 4 hours and within 10 min. he found I had been hacked and someone else had control of computer, my accounts, my e-mail, all my passwords. The hack job was due to a stupid thing I did. Ninety minutes later Kevin had me back in control, passwords changed on all major accounts, and receiving all my new and old e-mails. Turns out not only was a fan knocked loose, but another wasn't even plugged in the right port.
