We loved our stay here! The owner is so friendly and helpful. We stayed in the executive suite, and it had a large king bed and pull out couch. The room was very large and spacious and had a beautiful water view. The inn is on a large pond where you can swim or go out on a canoe or paddle boat (for free!). They even supply life jackets. They have a fire pit and charcoal grills with picnic tables on the beach which you can use at any time. I wouldn't walk to the down town, but it's a quick 5 minute drive. The inn offers coffee/tea all day, and has a small breakfast offering that we did not partake in. There is a small pool that our toddler loved as well! We can't wait to go back next summer. read more

What a wonderful place to stay! My wife and I came up to Maine for a long Memorial Day weekend and I booked this place online based on reviews. I wanted something different than the typical hotel, and wanted it out of the way. Plus, there were things we were doing in Boothbay. We arrived late but they stayed up until we got there. Our room was recently renovated and expanded. It was very nice, and overlooked the water, an inlet. It wasn't swanky, but it was a cozy Inn on the water. Our bed looked out into the landscape, and our room came with a TV, fridge, and microwave. The staff was pleasant, the continental breakfast was carbo-rich but tasty (especially the homemade cranberry muffins), and it was a perfect way to experience Maine. There were outdoor fire pits, grills, and canoes to use too. We were told they just expanded some of the rooms this year, and they looked great. I hope we can get back sometime. read more

The Inn was very clean and well maintained, I believe they recently renovated our room, it was spotless. We didn't make it into the pool, but that looked impeccably clean as well. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The scenery around the inn is beautiful, it was very peaceful looking out at the water. Breakfast was muffins, danishes, and fresh fruit which I did enjoy, but a yogurt and/or hard boiled egg would have been a nice touch. If you stay here I absolutely recommend taking out a row boat or canoe (no extra charge) on the lake. The scenery was beautiful and we had a very peaceful morning ride. I do wish the office opened a little earlier, we were up at 6:30 but had to wait for the office to open at 8:00 to check-out a canoe and get paddles. If you like to sleep late, I recommend requesting a room further from the office. Luckily we are early risers but it did get quite noisy around our room next to the office as others came and went from getting their breakfast. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and I thought the rates were more than reasonable; I would absolutely recommend others to stay here! read more

We have been this place before but the recent visit even better. We stayed in two queen bed room, with water view. Our room is twice as king bed room that we stayed before. Room is simple as standard two star motel, but it was very clean and air was so fresh. We travel with our 16 month doggy girl. She loves watch out the water view through balcony. Not just the water view is so beautiful, it's even better when you step into the water. We stayed in the water front few hours each day during the stay. Owner is very friendly. I had to adjust my schedule few days ago before our visit, owner adjust my room with out problem and he was so nice. We will come back again. P.S. there is sea food restaurant with sea food market just 2 miles away. The name is Robinson's Wharf, you will love it if you a sea food lover. read more

Don't be expecting a 5 star hotel when you come here. This is more like a motel on a gorgeous setting by the lake. We were here for a family trip and the view behind the motel was breathtaking. People working there were very friendly. The motel is old and but well maintained. Our room was small but had all the essentials that you need, even a hair dryer. The furniture and the bed in the room was old too but were comfortable. The only complaint was the TV was tiny! They could really work on getting bigger tvs. The balconies facing the lake was a very nice touch. They have free row boats and kayaks you can borrow as well. And we definitely took advantage of that and had tons of fun. The free pastries and coffee in the morning was more than enough and delicious. Overall, it was a great stay for your money. A old and outdated motel that is well maintained by a beautiful lake. Come check it out. read more

I went this past week and the hotel was dead, only 6 cars in the entire lot, so it was quiet. The room was sufficient for an one night stay to get to Acadia National Park. The view from the hotel room could have been better (explained later) overlooking the calm harbor waters. The complementary breakfast consisted of muffins and danishes, nothing exciting. On to why I gave only 3 stars...I requested for room 14 which is suppose to be a balcony king bed with a great UNOBSTRUCTED view of the waters (see picture). When I got to the hotel, they told me my room was being painted and that I would not want to stay in a room with fresh paint smell, so we were switched for room 10. It was the same balcony king room but with the pool right in your balcony site. Of all the rooms available, they put us in this room. Then to find out in the morning, they had given the room I requested for a month in advance to someone else. I saw the two guests come out of my room with my own eyes. I tried to confront the lying management and they were nowhere to be found. The office opens at 8AM, but no one was there even at 815AM. They were apparently still sleeping in one of the hotel rooms upstairs. The housekeeper did not speak English and took my keys and told me to leave. I tried getting a receipt and they could not furnish one because the manager was still sleeping. read more

Pros - good location, on a fresh water lake that empties into the ocean, pool, friendly staff, clean, etc. Cons - Stayed in a Queen Room with Two Queen Beds and Balcony w sleeper sofa (from Bob's discount furniture). The sleeper sofa was akin to what you would find on the side of the street. Could not use it for sleeping without getting stuck by a spring. We took turns on the floor instead .. yes, that bad. Otherwise, its a nice place. If you're travelling with more that one other person and counting on the sleeper sofa beware. Not worth the extra $30 per night plus 9% tax read more

Meticulously maintained! When did you last see the staff of a hotel dusting the outside handrails and balusters and wiping the outside of the room doors? They do it here! Friendly staff, fresh muffins and breads baked onsite each morning, beautiful lake views. This is an older property with all the inherent limitations that come with age. For that reason alone I give 4 stars instead of 5. But, they make it work as well as anyone can. Approx 1 mile from the center of town. You will enjoy your stay! read more

My wife and I arrived for a two night stay on Sunday and we were met by Anna the owner. We came early but fortunately our room was ready so we checked in and immediately felt comfortable. The room gave us a perfect view of the small lake where you were able to borrow a canoe (you must sign a waiver first). Anna gave us some great recommendations for dinner and took her time marking up our map for some of the scenic places we wanted to visit. There's a complimentary continental breakfast in the lobby where there is fresh fruit muffins bagels and coffee and tea. It was a perfect way to start our day each morning. The proximity of the hotel is literally a 4 to 5 minute drive into the heart of Boothbay Harbor and the commercial district. All of the great restaurants and shops as well as kayak rentals and boat charters are a short drive away. We'd go back. read more

This place rocks! Before I go any further, if you are a traveler that likes the comforts of Hiltons and the Four Seasons, stop reading this isn't for you. For someone that just needs a clean place to lay their head at night, this is the place to stay. It has the feel of a giant bed and breakfast rather than hotel. The guests all socialize with each other and talk with one another from their balconies. The owners are some of the nicest people we met on our trip. They bought the place a few years back and completely re-did it. I've never felt that a place is so clean as this place. The rooms are spacious and have a microwave, fridge and coffee pot. A breakfast of muffins, baked goods, fruit and coffee is served in the lobby, which you can sit and eat inside your room or at a table on the porch outside your room. The hosts offer rowboats and canoes to use on the lake free of charge. You can also start a fire or BBQ near the lake. The surrounding area is very quiet and it's only a mile from town (or $5 cab ride). We paid $85 for our room and were extremely happy. We will definitely be back! P.S. My family and I stayed at The Beach Cove Waterfront Inn this past weekend. We had a great experience, and I was pleasantly surprised because I didn't know what to expect. We had a suite with two beds and a large sofa, making our room HUGEEE! It was a lot of space which was way better than feeling cramped in a tiny hotel room which usually seems to be the case. Upon our arrival we were greeted at the front desk and the woman working there was so friendly. Because it was our first visit to Maine, she took the time to explain directions and the best attractions to visit around Boothbay. She also gave us maps and tour guides which came in handy. As I mentioned before, the room was very large and had a nice balcony overlooking the water, which was so pretty! Additionally it was fully equipped with a microwave, small refrigerator, and a new television. Everything was kept very clean and the cleaning service was prompt and efficient. In the mornings, they offer a complimentary breakfast which you can pick up at the front desk. This was very convenient for us, however, the selection of items were mostly pastries and sweet goods. It would have been nice if there was something a little more savory or less sweet to eat first thing in the morning...a bagel would have been nice. Other than that, I had no complaints with my stay! I definitely recommend Beach Cove if you're coming to Boothbay for a visit! read more

This inn is very nice, friendly and clean. They have a lake in the back and you can go fishing, swimming, kayaking and canoeing. They have a small outdoor pool, a picnic spot and a couple of grills to bbq. They have a large open backyard field, which is nice! The room is very clean and spacious. It is a bit dark because they do not have ceiling lights. We had a nice balcony view with a table and chairs outside. People that works/owns this inn are very polite and friendly! They provide us homemade muffins and other pastries in the morning! Which is nice because you take the breakfast back to your room and eat outside and enjoy the beautiful view. This hotel is not a luxury suite with wine but who wants that anyway! To me this was the best spot in Boothbay! You do not only get to stay within 1.5 miles of the town but you have an amazing view of a large "Pond" which I consider a mini lake off of your balcony. The lake is full of small and large mouth bass, and all it takes is a shiny lure and some time on their FREE canoes, and boats! I could go on and on about how awesome this place was but you have to experience it for yourself! read more

Ok so I got a deal on hotels.com $119 but typically the rooms go for $199. With that sticker price, the name "water resort", and the description online I had huge expectations for this place. Therefore, the first night I was dissapointing with what I got but by the end of our second night I had changed my views. The Cons: was told I was getting a Waterview with balcony but it ended up being a side view of the pool, public deck, and a 2-3 minute walk down a STEAP hill (with no path) to get to the water. There is also no lights to lead you down the hill at night so pretty much guaranteed to trip at least once. There also was only a single small garbage in the bathroom, and one free outlet in the whole room. The hair dresser outlet was only about 6 inches from the ceiling (too high to reach) and wasn't working anyway. The TV is about the size of a desktop computer. The Pros- the staff is beyond welcoming and helpful! You also have access to a heated pool and you can rent canoes for free to use on the water. Each room has a patio set to eat at outside and rooms have fridge and microwaves. You also get a free breakfast but it's only pastries, muffins, apples, and bananas so you would get sick of it if you're there multiple days. Oh and the hotel is only a 30 minute walk from downtown boothbay. Overall I would stay again for the price I got but would reconsider for the full price. read more

My fiancé and I stayed here for 3 nights. We just left to head home. Very very pleased with our stay. Very clean room, extremely clean pool which we enjoyed everyday we were there. Wonderful view of the pond and the grounds were just amazing. Close enough to town to get a bite to eat or just walk around to the shops. The rates were super reasonable for in season. The only gripe I had which is extremely minor as we shouldn't make our trip about television watching but the tv was super super tiny and wished it was a bit bigger, but like I said it wasn't a huge deal as we didn't stay in the room too much. We want to re-book for next year but it's either all booked solid or they don't take reservations this far in advance. We will certainly come back in the future. :-) read more

We stayed here in the summer. This was the most wonderful experience in Maine that we have had....I'll tell you why! This cozy little place we stayed in had a beautiful lake just outside our door, there was a fireplace outdoors that we could smell at night (woodchips burning)! That day there was a storm and we just watched the lightning and clouds at night...it was so comfortable. Going out to the lake in the canoe was breathtaking and an experience like no other. Relax while the scenery whisks you away! Wonderful hospitality also, the owners are very warm and inviting and there is nothing like a hot cup of cocoa when it is cold outside. The next day we went to the local lobster pound and brought lobsters for such a good deal and ate them next to the lake....Ahhhh wonderful! read more

This is the best Hotel in Boothbay Harbor, and it's also the cheapest. Take out the canoe and find the rope swing near the end of the lake! I start a big fire every night I stay there and roast marshmallows. The staff is really friendly, the scenery is beautiful and its a nice 1 mile walk to downtown Boothbay Harbor. This was a great place to for our mini-vacation. The pool is clean and there are plenty of chairs on the deck; the lake is great for swimming, boating (canoe or rowboat), or just sitting to enjoy the serenity. Every room has a balcony, we ate breakfast outside every morning. The complimentary breakfast included a wide selection of bagels, breads, muffins and pastries. Definitely not upscale (bathroom fixtures outdated, textured walls not wallpaper, just a few paintings on mostly bare walls, etc. However, everything is very clean, the bed linens are very nice, 4 pillows per queen bed, the citrus soap has a lovely scent and it is peaceful and quiet at night. We probably won't use the offer of the canoes during our 2 night late fall stay but the view is postcard pretty! The cake, muffin, pastry selection is really good - lots of choices. Can't believe the price, such a deal! The owners are very nice , very helpful, very accommodating. Only a quick 2 minute drive into downtown. A good choice and excellent value. read more

We just returned from a stay at the Beach Cove Waterfront Inn. What a fabulous hidden jewel it is. As one review stated...if you are looking for Marriott or Hiltons..this is not the place. If you are looking for a beautiful, quiet, CLEAN and friendly place, this is it. The rooms are clean, not huge, but plenty big enough. Our room had a private balcony overlooking the pool and a well groomed lawn rolling down to the waterfront. Adirondack chairs placed here and there, a nice quiet place to view the waterfront. The staff there is SUPER sweet and friendly, very accommodating and pleasant. EAch AM there was a nice choice of homed baked goods, coffee and fruit to take back to your room for breakfast, Even though places offer continental breakfasts, we often choose not to partake. When you are here, you don't want to leave to go elsewhere. The pool, too, is WONDERFUL...heated and salt water. Towels provided. If you prefer the waterfront, there are canoes and lifejackets available, free of charge and a beautiful lake/pond to use them on. We couldn't be happier with our discovery of this hidden jewel and have already talked about visiting again next year. read more
