Finally, I found Cassiels Day Spa, and lo and behold, the receptionist answered the phone on the second ring, and I was able to get an appointment this week (they offer permanent hair removal services on Mondays and Tuesdays). Cassiels is a unique-looking spa that was converted from a typical Maine house. It's beautiful and clean inside with a variety of interesting makeup and skincare products. The electrologist, Ashley, is young but excellent at her job. I received 30 minutes of electrolysis for only $35 (It's $25 for 15 minutes, $35 for 30 minutes, and $45 for 45 minutes). The spa was such an inviting environment that I booked a haircut the same day (for only $18). Great place overall -- I will definitely be a repeat customer!

I was clear with Amy that I do NOT want to get back into a routine of having to color. As an avid scuba diver and outdoorswoman, I am definitely a wash and wear kind of girl. Her technique was gentle and, while not painless because somebody is putting hot wax on your flesh and tearing out hair at the root, minimally painful.
