Fast counter service ice cream, iced coffees, açaí bowls and even hot food like lobster rolls. It is not the best ice cream I have ever had but it hits the spot after a long day at the beach. My only complaint is the there's no one really cleaning up the tables they have in the back and people left a mess! This has happened when we have gone before too. They do have bathrooms available but those are kind of gross too, so use as an emergency only. Worth a stop if you are at misquimicut for the day.

Cute little icecream/food stand that is right next to one of the best stores on the block. You walk up and order your icecream/food and they hand you a ticket to be called when ready. They ask that you do order with masks on for the new 2020 rules . The employees are super friendly and the menu is great. I saw they even have a lobster roll wish I knew that before I ate my lunch. We ordered cotton candy icecream with gummy bears and peanut butter icecream with peanut butter cups inside it in a sugar cone . The ice-cream is delicious and you can tell the quality . The flavors are awesome, so its hard to pick .

the menu was in the front and when I went to order they informed me that half the items were unavailable. The young girls working there were swearing and acting immature while I was trying to order. I ordered a black raspberry yogurt with chocolate chips and they didn't have chocolate chips but it comes with chocolate chips so I believe they just gave me icecream. Which I figured out about thirty minutes after leaving when I was walking on the beach and almost had an accident for I'm severely allergic to icecream. They acted like I was a bother and I won't be coming back.

Slow as can be. Terrible service. One scoop is $6 and you barely get a scoop. Come was empty. No customer service.

The manager was screaming at the employees for a mistake that was of her own. The other girls did a great job with the order tho!

Despite what many are saying, this is my favorite place for coffee and breakfast in Westerley, best iced coffee I have ever had (and I am from New York).

The floors hadn't been swept in quite a long time, and overall, a bit of dinginess has set in. I feel sad about this rating... hopefully someone will bring the charm back.

I am all for new trendy vibey establishments but there's something so special about that old school classic vibe. There is so much attention to detail when the branding was designed that mustn't be over looked. The owners are also outstanding humans and constantly giving back to the community and supporting Local fundraisers. The staffing is usually on the younger side but I can appreciate a young teenager that wants to get out there and work in the community. Social interaction is super important in one's growth and you get to experience that first hand the more often you visit. I have always had great experiences, and I believe the owners are doing things right when they are interviewing and finding goo staffing. You can tell Mel has a passion for baking/culinary/sweets and provides an absolute top notch experience. From sundaes to ice cream flights and even big kahuna challenges, there is literally something for everybody. The menu is forever changing with seasons and customer input :) I tend to bring my young boys in for a small treat on the summer weekends when we're in downtown Westerly. We purposely plan on getting there at opening which is noontime. At that time of day they are much slower than later on into the evening. This allows my picky/indecisive boys to try a few flavors before committing to something. They can also perouse all the candy/ sweet treats, which they will inevitably convince me to get something to take home with them. I highly recommend stopping in for an after dinner sundae after a nice dinner at one of the other local dining establishments Cheers *****Spoiler alert. I cannot wait to see the finished product of the step side ice cream/sweet treat truck, coming to a town near you***

Ice cream candy and…read more lots of ocean The Scoop Shack is a ice cream and old fashion candy store that features fantastic home made ice cream. I believe it's relatively new because I've never noticed it before on Block Island and I tend to notice ice cream places. Then again it is sort of tucked away in a corner and could be hard to see. The store is small, with a counter for the scream and various candies and other treats scattered around. A couple of tables inside and a courtyard overlooking the ocean on the outside. Saying that the view is great is actually an understatement. We didn't bother with the candy but the ice cream was absolutely incredible. Smooth and rich and no doubt containing a astronomical amount of calories and fat, just the way great ice cream should be. They don't have vast amount of different types but enough variety to satisfy anybody except those looking for something very unusual. There aren't many things better in life than sitting in a beautiful spot over looking the ocean and devouring great ice cream. Even though it was hoter than hell when we were on the island, a cool breeze was coming off the water and combined with the richness and algidity of the great ice cream the world was a perfect place. At least our little part of the world. Their are lots of ice cream places in the world but The Scoop Shack is one of those special places that I will always seek out when I'm on Block Island. The place to relax and just appreciate the moment and forget everything else. The ice cream here is exceptional but no matter how good the scream is, the views will always be even better.

I tried their blueberry chocolate flavor and was surprised by chomping on hearty pieces of fresh berries and large chocolate chunks. The waffle cones are really pricey, however, and I can't state whether they're worth it or not, since I wasn't willing to shell out $8. Overall, this is a good spot if you (or your kids) are yearning for ice cream on a hot summer day and it won't hurt your wallet as long as you're all willing to share a kiddie sized ice cream =P

The ice cream is always delicious, the employees are so sweet, and the cookies... OMG honey, they're massive. One cookie is big enough for four adults to share and still be happy. Another highlight is the little carousel out front--it's such a charming touch and perfect for kids. Between the treats, the atmosphere, and the friendly service, this place is a must-stop every time we visit.

The ice cream/gelato prices were a bit high in my opinion, and I was not too impressed by the flavor selection or quality. I was sold on getting a peanut butter ice cream scoop but after looking at the tub physically, I decided against it since it looked like it has melted and been refrozen. Instead, I got a scoop of the cookie dough gelato. One thing I did appreciate is that it did not have chocolate chips. I can't believe I'm saying this, but it did have too many cookie dough chunks - I would say on average, 3-5 chunks per spoonful so I couldn't really taste the gelato as much. I should've asked for a sample beforehand. It also had a mild freezer taste which I did not like. I think one standard scoop ending up being around $9. There were a lot of people when I got there so it might have been just me who did not have such a great experience. They did have a couple benches and tables outside. Also, I believe they have a sit down outdoor dining area for their restaurant portion, and they had some live music going which was nice. In addition, when you first walk in, they have a LARGE selection of pastries and they all look tasty. This shop is very close to where the ferry picks up and drops off in case you are looking for a treat before hopping on.
