I couldn't say enough great things about Carly! I was so thankful to have found her. I came in with crazy bad grow-out and she was so communicative, very honest about where I would be after just one appointment and what to expect. Even better, she was so attentive that she caught that the shampoo/conditioner I was using before my first appointment was making my hair heat up quicker in the foils than normal, and she was able to wash it out early so there wasn't any damage, and let me know why so I could switch brands. I completely trust her with my hair, since she'd been doing it, I'm happy, blonde again, and my hair is still super healthy thanks to Carly! She's great, super friendly, and I would recommend her to anyone! I was sincerely traumatized from previous bad experiences, and she completely saved my hair and is now someone I totally trust! Based on her response to my original review - it's clear to see her level of professionalism. I've also uploaded a screenshot of text conversation since she's fabricating and twisting things now, she stated she was totally comfortable with my hair type which is why I went forward with scheduling an appointment with her. And, while she was doing my hair she never told me any type of product she was using - I uploaded a pic of my hair to show the length and true color because it's nothing near what I asked to get done not because I can't afford any product like you're trying to insinuate honey. How can people feel comfortable coming back to fix things when she speaks like that. Again, she charged me $600 and "forgot" about my $50 deposit so BEWARE. She also sent me a PM saying I'm "stocking" her... I'm so confused lmao like I know it's the holidays and all but chill. I legit just wanted my hair done by a professional and Carly is not one if she's telling her other clients these stories yet removing her response, big yikes. Criticism is not welcomed here evidently. She now sends her friends to send me hate messages and forces them to update their reviews over my 1 bad review - so classy and professional. It's been about 5 months now since I found Carly and thought I'd do a quick update. She brought me from super dark hair to blonde, and now we're exploring some colors! She's finally used to me wanting my hair different every time I come in. Today we did Violet Star on my hair and it's soo cool! Just enough of a change to feel different but not so much that I couldn't wear it to the office. It's a silver/blueish/"lavender color. Next time: maybe a rose gold?? Carly is one of the most professional hairstylist I've met since I've lived here . That's been 6 years now! She saved my hair from fallen out., and me fallen apart. Two months A ago I was at my wits end. I had asked another hairdresser to put layers on my hair and the next thing I know she razored layers all over . It took a year to grow out and my hair was still lifeless and breaking . I had gone to other hairdressers and they colored my hair terribly and only trimmed the bottom of my hair. Skilled and fast! Carly is an amazing colorist she understands exactly how bleach works and is able to get you the color, tone you want quickly so that you damage the hair less. Yea, she's among the more pricey but you get what you pay for and it's worth it if you can swing it! Since it was my first time she had me send a pic of current hair and an inspo photo of where I wanted to go color wise. She's very knowledgeable about hair and willing to give you a good strategy to take home with you so you maintain hair health -- but she is not pushy in selling product, in fact it's just there if you'd like to include. I was in & out in less than two hours (my hair had been processed before though so expect more for a single process). I'm dark brunette that always gets brassy. Carly gets down with hair-especially blonde, but she can do just about anything, seriously. We worked together for several years and I always positioned myself next to her because I wanted to learn her ways! No one can do what she does, I swear. I am also a stylist and I now live in Orange County where there is a PLETHERA of stylists but I DONT CARE. I drive an hour and a half ( and I would drive further) because she is the only one I trust with my hair. I didn't do anything to my hair during the COVID shutdown and was in a rut. Carly is THE best blonde expert I've ever met. Here's some background info: Ive had blonde hair for over 15 years. Once my husband and I got orders back to California I needed someone that could correct what was beyond a disaster. What felt like miles of regrowth and 5 attempts to fix to it, with no success I was nearly about to give up. Until my husband came across Beach Blonde Salon. I instantly felt comfortable and connected with Carly. She is a ray of light. She never once made me feel bad about the condition of my hair. She was so empathetic and caring. I knew from that point on this was my girl! She fixed EVERYTHING within an hour and 30 mins!!! From yellowish ashey, gold blonde hair to a beautiful soft elegant blonde tone that looks absolutely natural. My second apt was even better. I got there at 12 my scheduled time. She took me right away. She was completely devoted to me, my hair and getting me to the right shade after some serious regrowth (due to covid). Not only did she fix my regrowth she put in the most beautiful tape-in extensions. They match perfectly. It's so good that I'm still in shock. The craziest part is she was able to fix the regrowth and put the tape-in extensions in 2 hours and 30 mins! I've been to hairstylist that took 6 hours to do just color! There's a reason why she's fast; she takes short cuts: I went in for a balayage and my hair looked really good coming out of the salon. HOWEVER, when I washed my hair and straightened it the next day I noticed a few spots and she also managed to miss the whole bottom layer of my hair. She put a tiny bit of color at the tips but that's it. My hair is really long and she only used single foils and just put my hair in that one piece. (Probably explains the spots). The whole process for my long hair only took an hour. So that alone says she took shortcuts because I've gotten a balayage done before and it always takes about 2 hours for my hair. I wish I could give Carly 10 stars. I live in LA and came to this salon while visiting a friend in Vista. I was so happy with the cut, color and service, I make the trip back down every few months to get my hair done. Carly is a magician and can somehow finish a full highlight and blow dry under 90 minutes. I can always count on hearing back from her within thirty minutes of reaching out to book an appointment. 1. Expensive!!!! 2. Called Carly for first appointment to color hair. She charged me $220. I was not happy with the color and contacted Carly within 48 hours to tell her I was not happy. 3. Carly rescheduled me to add some highlights and fix what I did not like. 4. Carly advised that she would charge another $85 for her to make changes. I should have known better... 5. She added highlights and then started to blow dry. Her power went out and my hair was 1/2 dry. Her power was out for over 15 minutes before I said that I had to go. Since my hair was not finished before paying I asked her once again how much the fix to make her client happy would be. I thought she would have given me a few bucks off since her power went out and she could not finish due to power outage. SHE STILL CHARGED ME $85. WOW!
