I also found a heavily discounted $0.70 sympathy card. The line had the longest wait I've ever had at a TJ Maxx or similar type of store; I was waiting over 30 minutes. A lot of people were shopping here, maybe because it was President's Day, and they didn't seem to have enough staffing of cashiers for it. They had more deals indicated with red or yellow price stickers than I'm used to seeing at TJ Maxx, including many heavily discounted candles, discounted notebooks, and there were also a lot of CeraVe and Cetaphil moisturizing creams and lotions. The selection of items was decent, the main pain point was just the amount of time it took for checkout.

I'm spoiled! I love the option to shop online and pick up in store. The fact I can place one order for pick up at multiple stores makes is amazing especially when all your items are not available at one location. We experienced it yesterday traveling between Pleasant Hill, Emeryville and Pinole locations for pickup. Pick up is always a breeze. I receive a text and email when my order is ready. The pick up area is usually near the cash registers at the front of the store under your last name. If your items are oversized or have an order larger than the pick up bins then you will need to check in with staff for retrieval. The store itself is well organized and maintained. With the signage, it is easy to navigate. Staff are friendly and willing to assist with directions or questions regarding a project DIY. Coupons are always available ranging from 15 to 30 percent off. Pre-pandemic it was 40% quite often, I rarely see those these days.

This review is more about the same-day delivery service than Michael's, the store. I placed two…read moreorders for same-day delivery form the Pinole location. I received notification that one order was out for delivery, and I received that item quickly and in perfect condition. Then I received a notification that the second item was out for delivery, and I expected the same great delivery experience. However, this wasn't the case. The second item was never delivered, even though the driver said he did. My "delivery" driver, Adrian G., who works for Uber, came to my house, walked to the driveway, and took a picture of the first item, which was sitting near my front door. He never ever delivered the second item, which was identical to the first item, only larger (these items were supposed to be a pair). He did this to cover himself in case I filed a complaint. This same-day delivery service is offered through Uber, Door Dash, and other delivery services, and there is no way to track your order or to get in touch with Uber, etc to complain about their delivery drivers. Fortunately, I paid through Paypal. I filed a case with Paypal, informing them that I never received the item, and I received a refund. This was the only option for resolution. I guess me AND Adrian got something out of the deal. I got my money back and he, she, or they, got a sparkly disco-ball-looking ghost for his, her, or their front porch. I guess I am writing this review as a cautionary tale about same-day delivery. You risk not getting what you ordered.

Jumped and hopped over across the street to satisfy my curiosity. Most of the items they have are used and/or most likely donated. There is plenty to look at but nothing that caught my eye. There is a wide variety of items for sale (clothing, shoes, paintings, toys, furniture, etc.) Some, however, are dated and required much needed maintenance. Most must have been there for some time because a lotta items had thick layers of dust. Some were also priced kinda steep. ($3 for free happy meal toys from McD's? I mean, if they were some kinda collectibles, $3 may be a bargain, but...) I walked out with a couple of still-tagged toys for the furbaby for the bargain price of $1 each. Otherwise, there was nothing else that caught my eye... ... at least, not for the price I want to pay. They do have a bit of following, though. There were a few "regulars" who walked in. Wasn't great, but it wasn't too bad. Might take awhile for that second visit, though...
