I had a really disappointing experience at B&J Nails and feel compelled to share. I came in for an ombré manicure. The person doing my nails was fine, but the owner stepped in to help and it went downhill from there. She got paint all over my fingertips, and when I asked them to clean it, they struggled--and there's still white polish stuck under my nails that I can't remove. My hands were sticky afterward, and it felt like no one cared. What made it worse was how the owner treated me. She got upset and questioned why I had a pillow under my hand--the same pillow they gave me to rest my elbow on. She said I had fluff on my hand from the pillow, and I told her to check the pillowcase, which was clean. I hadn't touched anything other than what they gave me. Also, she claimed she had just put on gloves "just to help me," but I had been sitting there the whole time (2 hours) watching her use those same stained, dirty gloves on other clients. Then she came over and touched my fingers with them. The gloves were sticky and full of polish residue, and it got all over my hands. It was unsanitary and careless. To top it off, after paying $95, the owner didn't even say thank you or acknowledge me as I left. The whole experience felt dismissive and uncomfortable. Definitely not what I expected for the price, and I won't be going back. Very rude customer service. After 3 hrs it's not coming off.

Amazing Service again! My last pedicure from here lasted over a month so I had to come back. It was really busy but they took me in right away. The vibe is always pleasant and warming. I will be back n

If you are looking for a new spot this is it. I was so nervous about getting Gel x and how my nails would handle it. Young B is the girl to go to. Her work and attention to detail are unreal.

INCREDIBLE... Fast , Professional . They accepted me as a last minute walk-in and i got what i asked for. ZHE was amazing . loved the vibe too . Found my place

I lovvve their Gel-X manicure! $50 as of 12.23.21

I'm so happy with B&J Nails! It has everything I want in a nail salon. Prices are great. It's walkable from my house. They do SUCH a good job. Now B&J isn't for everyone. If you want a relaxing, spa-like environment, you won't get that here. It's incredibly busy, more bare bones and usually bustling with talking and activity. But I swear, they do better than I've ever had before. My Manis and Pedis are always perfectly done. They clean things up well and paint to perfection. Better than that, the longevity on their work is insane. Check out my photo of my manicure FIVE WEEKS after getting it done. It's super grown out but their work? Still perfect with not even a chip, knick, crack or peel to speak of. Five weeks! That is just insane in the nail world. As of 12.24.2021, a Gel-X Manicure is $50 and it costs just $17 more for a pedicure. I always just so basic with my colors (no designs) but adding anything special would add to the price. I have added 10 minutes of massage to my feet once and 10 minutes to my shoulders another time, running me $10. They usually will get your nails going while they do your toes. Again, not the luxury type of service you might want but it makes the trip to the salon so much quicker. I used to spend 2.5 hours at my old salon and I usually spend 1.5 here. Sooooo, there is no set way to become Elite...But to be eligible, just make sure you're consistently (that's key) writing detailed, useful and fun-to-read reviews, posting clear and well-lit photos, and generally being a positive role model by recommending your favorite places!!! I'm here to help!! :)o I'm so very happy with my experiences at B&J (I've had a different person every time) and I always leave happy! Bring Cash!!!

Just left the place and Fahd is how it looks like.

By far one of the worse nail service Not only it looks horrible also I saw her using a used tools and I told her that's not mine she ignored me She did not give me a manicure, even though I asked for it and my nails look like they are one week old.

I used to come here all the time, but haven't in a while... went again today and still loved it. Ok, they're not the best communicators and I'm sure not all nail techs are created equal, but I loved my gelx set with April! She was so detail oriented. You have to tell them exactly what you want. My biggest fear is nail damage with the automatic file and excessive cutting of my cuticles. April listened and was patient with me.. respected what I wanted and how I wanted things done, and my nails came out amazing. They're also fast... removed my old set and put on a new one in 60-min.

Went to the shop for a many and pedi and the lady accidentally did regular nail polish and lied and said it was gel. But this is a week in and they're all messed up. Don't pay $70 for gel. This business went downhill after they moved locations. The girl doing my hands told the pedi lady that she had used regular instead of gel. My pedi lady applied one layer of gel on top and when I asked if they were going to be okay she said "yes, If they were regular nail polish they wouldn't have dried." They will lie to you.

I've been coming here for years. It's the only place I trust my nails. Just tell them not to cut your cuticles to prevent infection.

Does the gel-x (gel extensions) hurt? I got it at another place but I got terrible heat spikes for over 8 seconds on each nail. Do you get heat spikes here?

Hieu (pronounced "Hugh") is the only one I trust with my gel manicures, and Cindy is my favorite for a thorough pedicure. She is seriously excellent at callus removal and massages. Pro-tips: (1) try the herbal detox pedi treatment and (2) schedule Hieu days in advance (his gel manis can last for 3-4 weeks, so he's always booked out for days)

Today was really bad. They've always been very good at glitter, cat eye, etc and encouraged me to…read morebring in my own glitter since they don't carry a lot in house. The first very nice woman clearly had zero clue how to do dip glitter (which I explained at the front exactly what I was wanting to do, which I have done here before). Cut to two hours later this woman (not her fault, she didn't have the right experience and also couldn't understand what I was saying) had taken a very, very long time to do a semi-simple job. The lovely man who took over for her and completely erased everything she did for two hours was their normal efficiency. But because they didn't have the time, the job is completely botched. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful he did it, but I also did not want to be sitting there for 3.5 hours for something that would have taken the second man 1 hour to do. It's been 3 hours and my nails are peeling. If you can't do something, then don't say you'll do it. Worse yet, if someone spends two hours literally ruining a customers nails - the next person who does it better have the time to fix it correctly, and you should be mindful to make sure it's done correctly. Or say come back some other time? I'm not sure. But what I'm sure of is today was a complete waste of my day, time, probably theirs as well, and I paid full price and got a very poor result. Been coming here for years and not sure I will come back. I adore the guy who jumped and fervently "fixed" a very poor job... but he also very clearly didn't finish it well. And I wasn't happy about sitting through watching the botched job either, so it was never a favor For reference - the mint is what I left with today after 3.5 hours, which is now peeling. And not sparkling. And not properly sealed because the second time around was insanely rushed. The pink/blue/purple was the same glitter in March. Took one of their artists 1 hour at most, stayed for weeks, and wasn't $90. Inconsistent.

The salon itself is clean, relaxing, and has such a calm, welcoming vibe -- you can actually unwind instead of feeling rushed or herded through like an assembly line. She took her time, made sure everything was shaped perfectly, and didn't cut corners at all. You can tell she really cares about her work and takes pride in what she does. My nails came out flawless -- clean, precise, and exactly what I wanted (honestly even better). On top of that, she's so sweet and easy to talk to, which just makes the whole experience even better. I booked an appointment in advance expecting to be in and out in a reasonable amount of time. However, my appointment ended up taking over two hours from start to finish. Once Annie saw me, she worked as quickly as possible which I appreciated but unfortunately my experience was already soured by then. I decided to give them another try and came back for gel x removal and builder gel. Unfortunately, they were overly aggressive with the removal and filed my nails paper thin. Now I am dealing with a deep and painful break in my nail (even with builder gel, which is supposed to make your nails stronger). I learned my lesson and will stick to my usual salon as they care more about preserving your nail health.

Most gel nail places are way too harsh in your nails, and I was looking for a more non-toxic approach. I am not a fan of the soak off removal approach, as my nails become brittle. I was also looking for a salon that didn't do acrylics because of the smell because I was pregnant then. I am happy to say I am a regular, both Kazumi and Aiko are wonderful. My nails have never been healthier and I often get people commenting on the designs. They are super fast and do such great designs, anything you can think of or if you have examples they are very skilled. Their prices are very reasonable for the west side for the quality you get. The way she works is very zen-like. She keeps her tools very neatly in one place, she is very resourceful, she is very quiet and smooth with her movements. She took extra time to make sure my nail art was good as it can be. The reason why I give 3 stars is because although she is very talented, she lacks in basic nail skills. Initially I was very happy with my white ombré nails but I noticed my cuticles weren't as smooth as they typically would have been if I had gone to my usual spot. I remember noticing that my cuticles weren't cut and Kazumi told me that cutting cuticles would dry them out more. Sadly, as the day went on I was stressing out and the next day I had to get my cuticles fixed right before of my wedding at another salon. The technician actually told me that my nails "looked terrible." I am sure Kazumi gives great work to other clients, but I was disappointed and I don't know if I will come back. My cuticles aren't always in the best shape (I'm a healthcare worker) but I expect at least they would've been cleaned up better considering the $50+ I spent and the fact that my nails were going to be photographed up close for my wedding.
