BDS was called for a scheduled equipment pickup. They called 45 minutes after they were supposed to have already been there to let us know they would be late, as if we couldn't already tell by their absence. They finally did show up almost an hour and fifteen minutes late. They did however bring the proper equipment for the tow and got it loaded up and delivered in a timely manner once they did arrive. The process for registering vehicles is intentionally unclear and poorly communicated, which is predatory. They gave excuse after excuse on why they wouldn't allow us access. I finally called AAA to have them tow it to our house. This towing company is ridiculous. I parked my car at an apartment complex called Park West in College Station for a concert and came back hours later to it gone. There were no towing signs on the outside of the apartment complex, there were no gates to enter the complex, and there were plenty of parking spots available for people who lived inside the complex. However, my car was towed because I did not have a parking permit for the complex. This is a complete scam because there are no towing signs in the area which means BDS Towing company simply drove around that complex looking for something because they knew there was a concert that night. It is too late for me to get a refund for that night, but they are definitely running a racket with Park West. read more

BDS Towing attempted to tow my truck from my own driveway this week while I was home. The tow truck driver told me that he had driven by my house and decided my truck was illegally parked, and that he had authority to tow it at his discretion. My vehicle was parked entirely within my driveway with the exception of one front tire which was just over the edge of the paved driveway and on a strip of grass that separates my driveway from my neighbor's. The other three tires and the majority (over 95%) of my vehicle were in my driveway. He charged me a drop fee of $135 to unhook my vehicle. When I called BDS to complain, I was told by Kendall that it was "too late" because I had already paid their fee. My truck was not parked illegally based on the City of College Station parking codes, nor would it have been considered parked "in the yard" by any reasonable person. The City of College Station code enforcement website explicitly states, "Parking one tire in the grass is not a violation. The rule of thumb is that if more than half of the vehicle is parked on the grass, it is a violation." The fact that a tow driver can hook my car to his truck in my own driveway without justifiable cause or my consent and then demand a "drop fee" cannot be legal. I will be filing a police report and a complaint against this company with TDLR to hopefully eliminate this type of predatory practice. read more

It was in 4 wheel drive with the parking brake set and it did $2,000 in damage to the front wheel bearings. There were numerous warning indicators that came on when we got the truck back. The company's website says that they will "treat you like family" since they are a family owned company. That was not my experience when my son's car was towed from an off campus apartment complex in College Station. He is in his first semester at Texas A&M so he is still learning "the ropes." His car was towed after midnight yell and he arrived to pick up the car from the tow company's lot around 9:30 Saturday morning. I called to find out how much the charge would be and was told that it would be $293! Now, I don't have a problem with them doing their job and towing my car since it was parked in a "park at your own risk" spot as this was a learning experience for my son. I don't even have a problem with them covering their costs and making money but $293 is ridiculous. They literally had the car for less than 8 hours! I asked the person on the phone if there was any way they would reduce the charge based on the limited amount of time that they had the car and she was very adamant that she would not. I asked her to put herself in my position and treat me the way she would want to be treated and she continued to say that their was nothing she could do...that it wouldn't be fair...and if she did it for me then she would have to do it for everybody. Then they proceeded to give my son the run-around when he was there picking up the car. No one was in the office so he called the number and the same woman said that he just needed to walk around until he could find someone. So not only did I pay an exorbitant fee but my son got treated rudely, like his car had been repossessed. We definitely did not feel we were treated like family. In fact, quite the opposite. This is the second time we have used them! and we will continue to call them when in need in the area! My daughter and her boyfriend broke down on their way home for the weekend. I called BDS and everyone is so nice and professional. Its nice to have confidence in a company when you are so far away that they will be there to help.
