The service providers are great and timely, but their administration has bad customer service. I initially called and emailed to set up a new service, and didn't receive a call back for several weeks. The admin mentioned that she doesn't check voicemails or emails until the time was closer to monitoring reports. It was impossible whenever I tried to reach customer service - very unprofessional. The technician diagnosed how there were two problems at the same time in our engineered system and fixed them with parts he had on the truck for a very reasonable price. Let's face it - it could be really difficult to say something bad about a pair of men who come to your house, stand on the boards of your septic box, and suck all of your poop out with a hose, so Justin and the other man with him already get 5 stars. The truck showed up 15 minutes early, gave me a moment to get my dogs put away and then took care of EVERYTHING. I was home by myself and was not the least bit uncomfortable. I was disappointed by BDK. They failed to clear out all of the roots intruding inside my septic tank, nor did they offer the option of having the sewer line into the tank cleaned out, which I had to have done afterwards, at great cost, as roots were clogging the input. They were unhelpful with the issue of an ill-fitting lid on the tank. And although the first technician wore a Covid mask, after I asked him to do so, the owner and his assistant later came onto my property without wearing masks, even though I was wearing one to protect THEM, which is why we wear them, to protect others. read more

I called because I need a new irregular sized septic lid. Rather than charge me to come out, order, install, etc., the sweet woman who answered the phone referred me to a local company that has them in stock to save me money (rather than pay for trip, install, etc). So, while I didn't use BDK, I commend them for their honest business practice and non-shister-ness (new word!). I will definitely be calling them when we need any service to our septic! read more

BDK is great! They serviced two homes on our property in Sebastopol and each time were courteous, efficient, and they really know what they're doing! Its obviously not a pleasant task to find, test, pump and clean septic tanks and leach lines but the BDK people make it a good experience. AMAZING! Today I was on a busy Hwy and my recliner flew out of the back of my pick up truck. Immediately a BDK Septic Service truck pulled over and a guy named Justin waited for traffic to clear and got my recliner out of the middle of the road. He then carried the recliner to my pick up truck, loaded it back up and tied it down. It was a very scary situation and he was beyond quick to respond. I feel so blessed that he was an instantaneous good Samaritan willing to stop and help me in a very scary situation. Especially since they had to find the tank, dig it out, and then do their work. They told me that we had a problem with roots growing into the line, cut a bunch of ten out and how to deal with it to prevent future problems. Ben and Jason are awesome. They came to my home to scope damage done to my septic system following the Tubbs Fire. They quickly determined that what I thought was damage to the septic line was actually damage to a french drain system that carried rain water away from the leach field. BDK Septic Service is a reliable service that provides inspections and septic tank pumping services. I called for an inspection of my septic tank in the afternoon and they showed up the next day. I had just had Mr. Rooter out to pump the tank for $500 and they said it needed $2145 in repairs. BDK inspected the tank and told me that it was beyond repair and that it had to be replaced. The back wall had blown out and the baffle work and patch job Mr. Rooter recommended was not appropriate. In fact they said that if anyone dug out the back side that the tank would probably collapse. Additionally the tank was cracked all the way around. Ben recommended two different contractors to bid the replacement, called them, scheduled appointments, and charged me nothing. Thanks guys, you saved me $2145 and probably a collapsed tank! BTW: BDK pumps tanks for $395. read more

I am so pleased and grateful for the excellent service I just received from Mike and Justin at BDK Septic Service. The two lids to my tank were buried under 20 years of garden and rocks. The men helped a lot with digging and locating the lids, one buried under a patio! After I removed the patio, Justin and Mike came back to pump the tanks on what must be one of the hottest day of this summer.
