BEWARE! We had them come out to do our back patio in 2021. They ignored all things we told them, picked differing color stones instead of the one color we told them to use, used a white sand in between instead of a dark one that we asked for and paid for, and then they left a 4" gap in some area that they just put the sand in...which washed away after the first storm. We called and called and they took over a month to come back out and fix all the crap they did. Fast forward 2 years and our entire patio is wavy... had new company come out and they said that the last people who laid our patio not only cut corners and only put a 2" sand base, but that the patio wouldn't have lasted 5 years. They built it to where water puddles at our back door instead of running off to our driveway. AWEFUL customer service, the main guy told us to "fill in the sand ourselves" instead of having his men come back fix the areas that they flat out didn't do. Unbelievable. He cannot be trusted and his work product won't last more than a year at best. read more

Today: 7/03/2022 job dates: June 20-22,2022 pertinent facts: I was not present during job and the first day I saw the completed job was July 1st, 2022. I chose BDH because of positive past experience. This job included laying a flagstone patio with bender board edging, laying down stone garden edging and stone walking path. The team was on time, professional and diligent workers. I highly recommend BDH for the garden edging--lovely job. I was not present for the job but did have facetime views via my brother who was at my house in my absence. In hind site, I should have been present to monitor and inspect the work. I do not recommend BDH landscaping if you are hoping for a flagstone patio or stone pathway seen in BDH gallery photos or photos on the web in general. While my impression is that these workers did the best they could, I think the reason the overall look of the patio and flagstoned areas do not live up to the photos I see on line is most likely due to an inability for me to have a meaningful conversation with the two key BDH men (the owner Brad and chief guy Joel) most savy in how to achieve a particular look. One on one face to face conversation with either Joel or Brad prior to confirming the job would most likely have helped me understand the pros and cons of using bender board edging around patio. At this point, seeing the weakness of the bender board to hold secure in less than 7 days since the job was done, I strongly do not recommend using bender board as an edging method for a flagstone patio. BDH owner was effectively available by text or email and of course this really is not adequate for a job that ended up costing $10k-$11k. This amount does not cover the money I will spend on sprinkler head repair. I sincerely, hope the owner lives up to his promise of returning the week of July 11th to secure the bender board edging around the patio. Within less than one week at least two areas of bender board edging came unbound from stone patio creating tripping hazard and crushed granite spilling into yard. The other significant problem area was that a walking path stone was laid exactly over a visible sprinkler head. I will provide an update to this review pending BDH Landscaping owner, Brad, promise to secure bender board in a safe and longer lasting way the week of July 11, 2022. read more

Over the COVID spiking months, we asked for suggestions to give the backyard a new, fresh look. They turned it into our Shangri-La. We want to give an enormous, glowing shout-out for this company. Brad, his son, Zack, and his entire crew (Joel et.al.) are all about customer service. We had our entire backyard re-landscaped. It was a big job and took 2-3 days to complete. Every detail (per design) was executed to perfection. After the work started, we ended up taking Brad's suggestions for some modification to the original plan. We ended up with an amazing look (beautiful, functional, with low maintenance). Initial service was ok. We had landscape lighting and some work done on our flowerbeds. Half of the plants died within 60 days and were not replaced. Had another landscape company come out and said they were choked out by too much mulch choking the plants out and not using root stimulator. We asked if there was too much mulch when the work was being done and were told that it was ok. We asked about having addtional service done, outdoor kitchen and sprinkler work, we were referred to three different companies, 2 of 3 showed up to quote our projects then never heard back. Would not recommend if you want customer service after payment. read more

Brad was great as far as planning and even very responsive afterwards. BUT whoever he gets to plant needs to learn a thing or two.... I spent $4500 on landscaping - trees, flowers, bushes, other things around my pool. Several of the plants were dead in 1-2 months (even with constant watering and adding plant food). Almost everything was dead in less than 10 months. After my wife and I cleaned up a lot of the dead plants ourselves (to replant) we discovered that the size of the holes dug were barely large enough to accomodate the original pot - I'm no gardener but I do read directions and they say to dig the hole 2-3 times larger than the original pot. Moreover, the sprinkler company recommended (another $1500) did a terrible job of laying out the zones - some areas of the yard get no water while some turn into a lake. Not happy that I'm redoing the entire project again myself less than 10 months later. Like I say with most things - do it yourself the RIGHT way the FIRST time at a fraction of the cost. read more
