Make sure they fully complete the treatment before paying. I paid in advance a few days before my appointment, to ensure there were no issues. The day of the root canal, I arrived early and everything seemed to be going well. In the middle of the root canal the dentist said she was unable to finish the treatment and I needed to go to a specialist. The front desk staff referred me to another dentist that they work with. I was told that I would have a refund for the root canal minus about $300 the next day. Which I was fine with. That was 3 weeks ago, I am still waiting for the refund and have been calling trying to get an update on the status of said refund. Their billing department, keeps saying "We're escalating this to our higher ups and we will call you back today." They never call back and when I call back, they keep giving the same run around. If you pay before the service is completed, beware that you will be given the run around and you may find yourself, at risk of complications due to incomplete Endodontic procedures.

Asked me why my teeth had so many cavities so I was honest and told her my depression was horrible for the past few years so I never had the energy or motivation to take care of myself. She straight up called me lazy. Then went on a rant about trans people (because I'm trans lol) and misgendered the patient she had before me, calling them confused. Then began to say things like "did you know people identify as animals and they put cat litter boxes in schools now?" Which is a blatant lie and just a thing transphobes believe and spread around even though u can literally Google it and see it isn't true. Second experience, which was the worst : I had one of the worst experiences getting fillings here. The guy doing my fillings did not stop or give me more numbing like I needed, it was the most painful fillings I've ever had. He went way too close to the roots on so many of them and it hurt horribly. He also did not file/sand(?) one of my back teeth down correctly after a filling so it stabs me in the tongue. Just a year or two after that I got a new dentist and got tooth infections IN ALL (3) OF THE SAME TEETH THAT HE PUT FILLINGS IN. My current dentist (who works at Dentistry of the Carolinas, PLEASE GO THERE INSTEAD) explained to me that he put the filing extremely close to the roots in my teeth so it was being irritated by them and caused an infection. I had to get three root canals throughout one year. I might have to get another one in another tooth that was done there. Please go somewhere else.

A couple of years ago after Covid, I scheduled my yearly exam and it went well. Loved the hygienist. However more recently the front desk staff has been rude and lack customer service skills. The dental hygienist I saw in January was not nice and made me feel uncomfortable as if she was judging me. Fast forward to more recently I had a few rescheduled appointments that I had due to work hours in the past few months. On the day of my rescheduled appointment, I was caught in traffic behind a car accident which made me late. I called and told the front desk and they stated ok. By the time traffic cleared I was 17 mins late. When I explained to the front desk staff that I was late bc of a car accident she rudely told me I was being dismissed as a patient. I had been a patient for over 15 years with no issues until the new staff and dentist took over. I do not recommend this office due to horrible customer service with rude front desk staff with attitudes, the dentist barely examines you on visits and the overall experience is horrible.

The advances in technology in dentistry are amazing. A series of photographs were sent to "the mill" which made a new crown using something similar to a 3-D printer. From the on point, amazing office manager with the contagious smile who really knows her stuff... Through the dental assistants who are eager to provide answers and care that addresses your individual concerns through the dentist. DDS Mike Morton a mountain of a man, with a wholesome, friendly demeanor along with a professional, sensitive approach to dentistry that I appreciated. The tone of this practice is local, warm and approachable. Every person here could be someone you sit next to at church, or on the PTA board. The practice is easy to find in downtown Kannapolis and there is plenty of parking in the adjoining lot. The outside looks small, but it is a full and booming practice with more room than you could have imagine just peering in. This is dentistry with ethics and heart! I would give them six stars if I could. I truly appreciated them not "nickeling and diming" me and treating the human being behind the teeth. Gives me a lot to smile about.

I got hit with a hefty bill that I was not expecting. Apparently, when using my dental insurance, Delta, I have to pay the bill in full after service is completed. This should have been disclosed before I even made the appointment. They should have asked who my insurer was and disclosed their policy. Instead, they told me for the first time when I checked out. The lady that checked me out reminded me that I was told upon arrival. When I arrived for my appointment, the lady who checked me in asked me if I was aware of Delta insurance. I thought she meant that Delta sends the check directly to me, the customer. And because of my past dentist experiences, I also thought she meant to send the check directly to their office. She did not clarify what was going to happen. I had to pay $300 3 days before Christmas! Yes, I will be reimbursed but still I've never had to do that with any other dentist office before. And, again, right before Christmas. I called back and canceled my next appointment and told them why. Joy, the receptionist, stated that a miscommunication had occurred and apologized. I understand miscommunications happen in life but it cost me $300 not her. Also, miscommunications are often preventable, so again front desk.....do better!
