Elizabeth stayed patient through a number of my pre-visit email volleys and was very informative! During x-rays, I let my x-ray champ know I've a small mouth and she succeeded in nearly a zero amount of uncomfortability-truly amazing :) Betsy was cheerful, funny and diligently thorough, as my teeth had much plaque/some sore spots. I have ADD and verbal conversations can be trying for me to assimilate. But Dr. Dan is a sweet person who also happens to be a dentist and he carefully reviewed all my options w/a time line-what's first and what can wait and; how long. Very Kool! I had a great first appointment-all the hard stuff over-and am so happy my mouth is in it's best shape in a long while. I was wrong at first thinking in office whitening is better, but I researched and realized they were right--at home (free for a year!!!) is better on teeth and cheeper! Being a 61 yr old self pay I signed on to their Wellness Plan. Just A FEW more $ & I'm covered 4 any emergencies (free!) PLUS Elizabeth counted today's appointment too! I highly recommend Eastover to everyone-as you can see my appointment was STELLAR top to bottom :)

I have had major work like repair of a cracked front tooth and crown replacement as well as fillings. All were done very well. She and her team are the only ones I will go to when I need dental care. I've been going here a few years and recently decided to check my dental claims/ coverage and found…read moreout that as of October 2023 my MetLife insurance is out of network for this office. My son had work done at the beginning of the year and I had to pay half upon booking the appt and the other half before work was done when I got to the appt. What they charged I thought was a lot (336.00 for work on 2 teeth out of pocket and my insurance paid 622.40 on top of that) I paid the 336.00 and turns out what I paid vs what they reported that I paid out of pocket was $72.40 more. MetLife let me know I could've saved 556.00 if they were in network. I called in and Ritz said I had a 20.00 credit on my account because 50.00 was charged for some lazer treatment or something. Which I then explained I didn't have a balance until after MetLife called them about the over charge... or at least I wasn't told that even when I booked our cleaning appts. They charge upfront so I think I would know if I had a balance. I asked for the whole amount to be refunded back to me of $72.40 which she agreed they would do which is why I left a 2 star instead of a 1. ... I would just make sure your dental coverage is in network for the day of service even if you're a repeat patient because they won't tell you. Also check with your insurance, what is billed and what you actually paid out of pocket.

Dentist on Monroe cannot call me to cancel an appointment only Optum Serve can. So I drove 1.5 hr to my appointment. I got there at 12:30 and a gentleman said my appointment was at 12:00. I ask who changed it and a young girl walked in the door look like coming from lunch said we did. I said nobody told me. She looked at me with a smirk and said I had to call Optum Serve and complain about them. So I went outside and called Optum Serve. The lady I talk to did not know my appointment was cancelled. So they rescheduled me somewhere else. The doctor's reviews sounds good but his front desk staff is horrible. I refused to go back because my first impression was not where I wanted to go back.

She never suggests treatment unless she deems it essential or preventative. In fact, she has been watching a filling in one of my molars that is almost 50 years old, but since it is intact and does not bother me, she is not urging me to have it replaced, just warns me that it could deteriorate quickly. I like this approach and trust her judgment on all things concerning my teeth. She did suggest whitening a couple of years ago, using a reasonably-priced system offered by her office, which worked very well over the course of about 2 months. I have had nothing but positive experiences with Plaza Midwood Dentistry and Dr. Hart, hygienists/techs like Weslynn, as well as their front office. I came in looking like a gremlin honestly, my teeth were in terrible shape. They worked out a plan to focus on the cavities first, then crowns and implants, but I wasn't expecting the huge difference, even with the temporary cosmetic stuff they did (I'm not a dentist so I don't know the right name for it). After my last appointment, I cried when I looked in the mirror and asked for a hug. Went home and cried some more because I was so happy. Sent pictures to my best friends and family.
