They were able to see me the same day as I was having an emergency. When I arrived the staff was not only professional but very nice and welcoming. Which I feel important for such a dreaded procedure (root canal). And believe it or not the best part about my visit was the Dr. and procedure. He was absolutely awesome. I mean so awesome that I wouldn't mind having another root canal. Ok maybe I don't really want another but I would drive from the other side of NC to go to this guy. Like I said before I had a bad infection and they got me in same day; however, once he began the procedure he was mostly concerned with how I was doing and if I felt ANYTHING! He didn't want me to be in any pain. Zero. So given that my tooth was so bad he wanted me to come back to finish and let my antibiotics do some more work in the meantime. Didn't charge me extra and didn't rush anything. This guy is a perfectionist and if you want your mouth taken care or properly then there is no where else to go. I have to say the root canal experience everyone warns you about was actually as enjoyable as a root canal could possibly be. I would give this practice 20 stars if possible.

The Dentist said it was a "covered" expense (with THEIR insurance which I had for four years) When I found the cost for this procedure was $800.00+ AFTER INSURANCE, I hesitated. I wanted to check with Delta Dental Insurance, but was told by MFD that Delta wouldn't cover me for 4-5 months, and this procedure couldn't wait that long. Believing them (22 years with this Practice), I went ahead. It took 20 minutes. THAT'S $40.00 A MINUTE! I called and checked with Delta Dental, and I could have been covered within 24 hours being I had previous insurance coverage. Their "misinformation" cost me $478.15 EXTRA DOLLARS, as Delta Dental's payment would have brought my cost to $337.00 TOTAL. Never again.

Small detail was that I, as a patient was never notified. The lack of communication clearly says a lot. Barbra has been my hygienist for.... Almost a decade... maybe more. She has and continues to be very professional. It's always nice seeing Barbra and Dr Schein twice a year. I know some folks usually dread going to see the dentist. But regular maintenance is a must for your teeth. Everything is pretty much the same here, the name above/on the door has changed, but they still provide great service and allow my smile to continue. The transition didn't seem to be as smooth from the previous practice/corporation but I'm glad to see they are working things out. They are taking new patients on, but they only operate on Mondays and Tuesdays for now. I'm sure the situation is dynamic and they will adjust their hours as needs change. For now, I'm glad I still glad to have a great hygienist and dentist to take care of me.
