Who can resist a deal, especially an auction. I visit this site often and have been satisfied on my purchases for the most part. The first time was a too good to be true win on a very nice vanity with top. When I went to pick it up I was told it wasn't there and should never been offered. Time and travel my loss as they refunded item price. Next item was a mirrored medicine cabinet which ended up having a cracked mirror. I'll eat this one. Next is two toilets (don't ever bid on the toilets!!!) neither one had parts that were compatible. Professional plumbers tried to install but there was no way the bowls and tanks could be put together. Emailed Bill as to what recourse I had, no reply. Lost time and $$ on these two as well as plumbers time = $$. Still good deals to be had but not without being a cautious, educated bidder. read more

I've been bidding and occasionally winning auctions on BCL Auctions for a while. I only have one piece of advice for anyone who may want to participate in this online process; if the item is expensive, take the time to personally view before bidding and only bid on hardline items. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT bid on any items that are liquid or semi- liquid. These items are usually past the "use best by date" and are in the state of hardening or have been opened or leaked at some point. I have won caulk, glue, paint ( spray or gallon cans) that are mostly not useable and are a waste of $$$, because they were semi dried up or hardened. Expensive tools seem to be o.k., as are ladders, valves, ect. If some parts are missing, I've had some luck contacting the manufacturer for no cost or low cost replacements. And be sure you check your items and compare to the web description regarding size, material and construction. All in all, it's a good site to find a few low cost things provided you do your homework and look things over. BEWARE...items you are bidding on may not exist. New items may be store returns or damaged although they are advertised as NEW. Very poor customer service if they make the mistake. I have purchased 3 times from this auction and 2 times after a 2 1/2 hour drive one way the items were not there. The first time the guys admitted they never had the item and allowed me to return the NEW merchandise that was damaged. The second time the trip would not have been made if the product was not available. My efforts to contact the auction about this concern were met with poor communication and a lack of concern about my experience. I have reached out several times and talked to an employee named Peggy. I was told that Bill, the owner of the Auction would call me. After 2 days and no call, I talked to Peggy again early morning and she said Bill would be calling me. The day passed and I called Peggy again and she accused me of making threats and hung up. Then receive an email about how they have contacted me and tried to help. Bold face LIE. No way anything could have been interpreted as a threat. I guess side stepping the issue by falsely accusing your customers, justifies this organizations refusal to address a problem. I never had any intentions of doing anything but trying to come to a fair resolution. My decision to do this only happened because of their refusal to call and more so based on Peggy's poor effort to deflect any responsibility by suggesting that I some how was threatening.
