They set a time to come look, and knew what to get. Then had everything ready for us, and did the job, informing along the way what was happening. The second job more to change a well-housing and pipes connecting to water source, they changed all of that too. Had looked at it previously, to get the information on the project- to get the tools, back when the water heater was done. Seeming their time spent, and then once we were ready, came by- got the scope again and then picked up the products and set a day to work. That was all done- and have now water running again without fear of blowing out anything in the well. Future jobs are planned- coming up with remodeling. Waiting on them for the pricing to get that all firm and prepared, so when the job come's all will know what is needed. My word to ANYONE that has any difficulty, getting to people; constant- repetition in informing them what is needed and also, send emails as well with pricing- that helps a ton. Keep after it, after all we are in the process of getting the job completed as well. They do great work, and show up. And, things are working when they leave.

May 2024 we had the beginning of our plumbing issues on our well system. After getting the bladder…read morereplaced by one plumber I've already reviewed, and well pump replaced by a second plumber, we found out our filtration system was also dying on us and would need to be replaced quickly. After being ghosted by our first plumber, and finding out the second one we used would not be able to get to us in a timely manner, we reached out to Alexander & Sons. They came out to get a water sample to determine what type of system we would need and that was the extent of their service. They claimed we had bacteria in our system (but never provided a report) and would need to shock it before performing work. After a few phone calls and no shows, they claimed they came out to do it. Unfortunately for them, my security cameras told otherwise. When I called them back to confirm, I was then ignored for a week. I called another company, who came out, tested, and replaced our system in the time it took this company to ignore me and reach back out to me. When I informed them I went with someone else and told them they never came back, the person on the phone told me they did. I then informed them that they did not because A) my security cameras never caught them, and they would have if they had come in my driveway and B) there was something left behind on the well cover by the plumbers who replaced my well pump. She then called me back and left a voicemail (which I still have) telling me to get my cameras checked because they did come out and move a pair of pliers from the cover. Only problem? It was electrical tape the previous plumbers left behind next to the well which I then placed on top of the cover when cutting grass, not pliers. So either the plumbers lied to her and she didn't know or she lied to cover for them. Either way, unacceptable. Overall, I would avoid them and go with a larger company who, even though you may pay more, at least gets the job done.

Had them give me a quote on another system for our barn during covid but ultimately went with another vendor quote (and that system has been problem free). Called today to see if I could get service on one of the compressors they sold us and apparently they are blocking my phone # (my wife's phone was able to get through). Very odd behavior. Apparently we are close enough to sell AC systems but they don't want to service us or they are butt hurt that I didn't accept last quote. You have been warned. Comment on the response: Erica's response doesn't make sense - they show service to the area on the website, they have never raised any issue of "safety" at our house and doesn't excuse blocking the number of a customer who has always been polite and paid bills promptly.

When I decided to replace the whole HVAC system, Fredericksburg Heating and Cooling did the entire job at a significantly lower price than the other company quoted for only replacing the AC Portion. We had used their services before after a technician from another HVAC company highly recommended them. Although Steven West, the owner who is full of integrity, said he could fix our 15-year old AC, we decided to get a new AC/furnace. We trusted that the quality of the work and the product were high, and the price was fair after comparing with several other companies. Installation went very smoothly, and Steven W. and other tech Steve were personable, knowledgeable, efficient, and experienced. Lisa in the office also had exceptional customer service. Owner is honest and unlike other companies in the area doesn't try to take advantage of folks who aren't heating & cooling experts. Used their maintenance plan and spent almost $2000 over that period. Some people may think that's too much to spend over two years but my A/C VAC was 25 years old! Of course I kept up my end by nurturing/cleaning our unit as much as I could. I loved the techs that did the semi annual checks. They remarked at how clean the system was. We did some minor replacements on parts but again at that age more things could go wrong. The office people were always superb and professional. We sold our beautiful home in the summer of '16 with that 25 year old system doing its job well. I know without ICE's partnership, I couldn't have done that well.

I had a power surge about a week ago. After the power came back up, my outside unit made some terrible noise. After spending quite a few bucks for the replacement just a couple of years ago, I wanted to make sure that nothing was wrong. Called Nick's number, he answered and said that he was on the way to another job but would swing by. Within an hour, he personally came by and did a thorough check on my system. He replaced a part and told me that I had nothing to worry about. I really appreciate that kind of service and the obvious pride that Nick takes in his business. If you need HC help, I think he's the guy to call.
