My vehicle decided it didn't want to start anymore. That's unfortunate. I called my Roadside Assistance people, who contacted three different towing companies before BC Towing was assigned and confirmed that they would come to pick up my truck. Upon arrival, I met the driver at the front gate and he didn't have a problem getting in. My apartment complex has assigned parking for tenants and very small, covered spaces. Because of the car that parks next to me, when I park at night I tend to be VERY close to the pillars that support the structure. It's no big deal for me to get in and out of; I'm used to it. However, with the confines of the parking lot and the space involved, the driver got out, looked at how close the truck was to the side, and commented, "Well, I always enjoy a challenge." What followed can only be described as a complex dance on par with some of the finest ballet theater I've ever seen. He used some skids or something on the back wheels, his winch, and the flatbed, and managed to move my truck at an angle, back it out, and get it up on the flatbed with very little fuss, determined and efficient movements, and absolutely no damage or scrapes. There wasn't even any cringe moments where we weren't quite sure what would happen. The man was literally an artist in getting the vehicle away from obstructions and up on the flatbed. When that was done, he confirmed where I was taking the vehicle for repair and commented that it was a reliable and trustworthy shop. He recommended a few other shops, along with anecdotes, that could be considered for the future (for particular vehicles, none of which I own). He didn't disparage any shop, but only pointed out a few positive experiences he'd had for himself or other customers. When I gave him the keys, he gave me a quick reminder to make sure I only dropped off vehicle keys; not home, work, or other personal sets. Not that there was a concern, but just as a commonsense kind of thing. I appreciated his thoroughness. I didn't get an option on towing companies for this use, but I was impressed and appreciated the quick and effective tow of my vehicle. I had excellent customer service and a fine experience. Vehicle was delivered where I asked, without issue, and he even confirmed with the shop on where to put it so that they wouldn't have any concerns and would know that it had arrived, even if I hadn't been present. read more

Towing locked my keys inside the vehicle without my asking and then charged me to remove them*** Took my Jeep back from an auto mechanic shop because I decided to do the diagnosed work myself. No big deal, called B.C. Towing. They picked it up and brought it to my apartment complex. I instructed them to leave the keys inside, and they even gave me a call letting me know they hold no liability for the keys being inside in case something is stolen. Fine! Vehicle was empty and the battery inside didn't work. I get back to the vehicle and find that per my instructions the keys were left in the glovebox. But *not* per my instructions, the tow driver had manually locked all of the doors before leaving. I have no other keys, so I had to call B.C. towing to get them to unlock the vehicle, which they did while refusing any kind of reimbursement. The driver who got the keys out was quite kind and supported my frustration towards the issue, but I'm still out $75 for a problem that B.C. towing created. So, beware with your instructions is all I can say. Wish I could say better things. read more

November 23, 2017 Thanksgiving Day. On my way to see my Grandmother on the morning of Thanksgiving I stopped at a truck stop north of Salem Oregon to get a short nap, I woke an hour and a half later to a dead battery! After asking several other motorists for a jump (no carries jumper cables) and afew failed attempt to start my car I ask a gentleman if he could give me a jump, he also did not have cables, but said he may have a truck close. Poor customer service, about the only thing they did right is get my vehicle to the correct location. They were supposed to contact when driver on the way but instead gave no notification and picked up vehicle early, which was bad because I had a family member that was waiting for notification. Then, according to the dealership that it was delivered to, tow driver threw key at an employee on leaving! Spend the extra $ and get a tow company whose employees have a personality, good customer service skills, and do what they say they are going to do. read more

Said there wasnt enough clearance to recover our vehicle in a parking garage. 8 foot parking garage with ONE section that was 7 foot under city hall, which was not the area we were in. They came out to tow my sons car to the repair shop. The driver, rather than just loading up the car and going, offered to jumpstart so that we could maybe drive the car there ourselves. Since we knew that it was probably not the battery we were hesitant but thought to go ahead anyway. He saved us a ton of time and money and got us on our way. I used my roadside assistance coverage to tow a vehicle and requested a specific time that my vehicle be picked up/towed away. After about 10 minutes past the "appointment time" I called the office to see where the driver was, and the receptionist informed me that he was running late because he needed to take his dog to the bathroom and that he was 20 minutes away. First off, not my problem that your dog needs to go outside, if you have an appointment window, take care of your personal matters on your own time, not when a customer is waiting for service. I was really irritated that I had set up a time on purpose so there would be no waiting and now I had to wait even longer. An hour later after the scheduled time, the driver finally showed up. Luckily he was quick loading the vehicle and got my truck back home, that would be the only positive thing I could say about my experience. I was extremely disappointed that it didn't make sense to have an appointment set up if I'm just going to wait around anyways. I definitely won't be using this company in the future based upon their lack of customer service and professionalism. read more

The customer service here is absolutely atrocious. After having my car totaled and the address being incorrect on the website, I called to find my car and was answered by a rude employee telling me I need to be there and once I'd arrived an employee saw me, turned around and walked away, and didn't even acknowledge me. I then waited for someone to eventually come out and the lady made extremely rude comments about how I needed to be out there to get the car. She also said rude comments directed towards me once she'd left the room to her coworker, even though I could still hear her. I've never been so appalled by the treatment at any business. read more

My vehicle was towed today by BC Towing. Inside is all of my work bags (company laptop, ID badge, files, etc). These are not only items I need to perform my job - but also company property, not my personal items. I cannot afford to get my vehicle back yet but asked if I could get these items in the meantime so I am able to go to work tomorrow. The company refused indicating I need to pay in full to get the vehicle, even if I just want my items. I even called Salem Police Department who authorized the tow, they called the company and was still refused. The irony is that without these items I cannot do my job, without my job I cannot make money, and without money BC Towing doesn't get paid. We were driving back from Washington to California and was involved in a MVA in Oregon. We had the pleasure to meet Kevin who gave us great customer service. He arrived at the scene and found out that we needed a flat bed. He took initiative to go back to the yard and get a flat bed and bigger cab as we were in a Budget Rental and needed to go back to Portland airport for over an hour drive from the scene of the accident for a rental swap.He took our minds off the incident and was very funny and sociable. POS company I ordered a flat bed they sent the wrong truck. I told the driver I asked for a flatbed he said "what is the problem I can tow it"... "is it 4 wheel drive?" I said no it's a Volvo. He turned his back and mumbled as he jumped back in the truck " I will get you a flat bed, but it will be a while" 45 mins later no call, no show, nothing I call their dispatch only to be greeted by the nastiest and rudest dispatcher in Oregon. She proceeded to feed my a string of lies about how a new driver had come out and walked around the vehicle and determined it could not be towed and left. When I asked why he didn't call she said "I don't know if he misdialed but he called I don't check his phone to see if he is lying". The whole experience ended when I called my insurance to cancel them only to find out that though they had promised to send the driver back they had cancelled the call and another company was on its way thank goodness. I was originally informed it would be about a 2 hour wait to be picked up by some one and was instructed to call around to see who else could pick me up while they send my call into their que. It's winter time and we have a manual vehicle. The weather got cold out and we thought our clutch was going out. We put the car into 1st gear and then reverse but it felt like the emergency brake was on. It wouldn't move. We talked to a friend who also thought it could be a clutch problem. The expense would be over $1000 to fix. When BC towing came, the representative asked what happened. When I explained, he said that because of the cold weather, the emergency break actually freezes to the tire. So during freezing temperatures, we shouldn't keep the emergency break on, overnight (which we had done). While he was here, he asked that I try to drive in both gears and IT WORKED. During a record-breaking rainstorm with 30mph winds in December, BC Towing refused to help me after waiting for them for over an hour, and left me standing in the rain by my car. The driver never got out of his truck, nor even opened his door. In the holiday rush and preparing for a volunteer event that day, I locked my keys in my car. When the BC Towing driver got to the Walmart where I was waiting by the building he drove right by me looking out into the parking lot. I chased him (with my shopping bags and wearing a dress) waving and shouting but he didn't see me. He circled the parking lot and disappeared from view. I ran to my car, so he could not miss me when he circled around. He did not circle around. After about ten minutes of standing in the wind and rain, getting soaked to the skin, I got a call from his dispatch asking where I was. I stated that I was standing by my car on Row 4, and asked where he went, why didn't he circle around?? He finally came back to the parking lot, and when I asked him "Where did you go? I've been standing out here by my car for ten minutes," he told me he wouldn't help me if I had a bad attitude. I told him I didn't mean to have a bad attitude, I just needed to get out of the storm. He said, "I'm not going to help you, you have a bad attitude. I'm calling my dispatch. You can call someone else for help." And he drove away. The whole conversation was less than 30-seconds long. There was no "I'm sorry it took so long for me to arrive, here, let me get you into your car as quick as I can!" helpful attitude. This driver seemed genuinely set on NOT helping me, and made no move to even start in that direction. While I was waiting for my SECOND roadside assistance vehicle to arrive, I called BC Towing to alert the manager, Bruce, that there was a misunderstanding with his driver and that he'd left me without helping me get into my car. As a business owner myself, I thought he'd appreciate the input and possibly use it as a training experience. I was mistaken. Bruce harshly told me that "there are over 100 calls today and you're number 50. We don't have time for this. The drivers don't have to service hostile customers." I was distressed, cold, wet through and through, and late. But I was not abusive, didn't raise my voice, nor in any way HOSTILE. Bruce, the manager, was uncooperative. I told him I was in no means hostile, and in anger, Bruce said, "just go stand by your car and someone will be there in 5 minutes." I thanked him and rushed back into the rain to stand by my car. Ten minutes later, Bruce called me and said he had talked to my insurance company and they had dispatched someone else to come help me and that he would not be sending anyone to unlock my car (even though, apparently, someone was within 5 minutes of me.) A few minutes later, my true "hero" arrived, a sweet young man, Shawn Hererra, owner of Lockout Pros LLC. He jumped out of his car, rushed to my side with an umbrella and proceeded to unlock my car on his first attempt and I was on my way in less than five minutes. Lockout Pros was the hero of the day and I appreciate this company and will tell everyone I know that Shawn Hererra of Lockout Pros is courteous and professional. And I'll never, ever use Bruce at BC Towing again. read more

BC Towing is THE BEST around, no doubt about it. Their driver, Tyler, is a hero. We had a need for towing due to the fact that something within the car blew because there was fluid all over under the hood. Upon arrival Tyler suggested it was the inlet hose for the coolant because it appeared to be from there. So I was able to buy one and have it fixed in a jiffy, avoiding the need to be towed to the mechanic. I can't thank Tyler and BC enough, their towing company will ALWAYS be the only one I used and suggest to others in need of a tow in the mid Willamette Valley. read more
