Shadow sustained six wounds during his stay at Jet Pet Resort from February 10th to February 18th…read more2018. He was assessed by three veterinarians and was given supplements, shots, and medication for his injuries. Veterinarians described Shadow's more serious wounds as follows: -"2cm long full-thickness laceration upper right thigh" which was also assessed as a "grade III/IV (3/4) bite wound which could develop into an abscess" -"1 cm long close-to-full thickness laceration upper left thigh" -"A deep 2cm scrape over pelvis" -"A large 15cm diameter area of deep bruising on right shoulder". Jet Pet Resort staff members and manager, Fay Egan, were unable to provide information and details on how or when Shadow sustained his injuries. Although, I completely understand that things like this can happen, it is quite concerning when I'm told no one witnessed Shadow sustaining these wounds, and their Pet First Aid-certified staff members were unable to assess the severity of the wound and did not call a vet even though a Veterinary Medical Release form was signed. Although Shadow's boarding service plus daycare visits at Jet Pet Resort have been refunded, our trust has been lost. We were left with unanswered questions and a wounded beloved pet. Shadow is resting a lot and is healing at a steady pace. I hope Shadow's injuries will alert and remind all the pet owners out there to be extra careful and perform thorough body checks on pets prior and after services at any boarding/daycare facility as I do not wish this upon anyone's beloved pet.

The 50-minute timeslot was plenty of time to play with and pet different cats while enjoying bubble tea. Some of the cats were active and playful during my 8:10-9:00 pm time and some just wanted to chill out, but they all seemed relaxed and happy about having people around. There were lots of toys available to use and the room that the cats are in is spacious with lots of structures for the cats to climb in/on, and also a few chairs for people. They clean often. The staff is mostly young adults. They are all very friendly and happy to talk about the cats. The bubble tea here is reliably pretty good. I live nearby so I sometimes stop in for bubble tea. They have a decent selection with plenty of non-caffeinated options for evening visits.

Made a reservation a day before to ensure I got to see the kitties. Cats were cute, seemed well taken care of. There is a mix of veteran cats and new cats. Went around lunch time, some were tired and rather not play, some were eager to play. Interesting experience: orientation, talking to staff, playing with kitties all was really fun and new. May consider coming back again, but will have to plan stuff to do around the area.

It's been almost three years since my Simon passed away (I still miss him a lot), and my husband…read morelooooooves cats, so we decided to adopt a cat, specifically an older cat, as kittens, while adorable, are a little high energy and high maintenance for us. We were planning on adopting a cat sometime this summer, when last week, I found out that the SPCA is reducing the adoption fees on older cats (not kittens) by 50% between May 25th and May 31st. So while we weren't planning on adopting a cat just yet, we decided to take advantage of the promotion this weekend -- it was the puuuurrrrfect opportunity! We had looked at the website ahead of time, and there were some cats that we were interested in, based on their description and appearance, but you really have to meet the cat before making a decision. At the SPCA, there were a couple that we liked (neither of which we had considered from the website), and in the end, we chose the oldest cat there, at ten years old. (According to his backstory, he was surrendered because a child in the family was allergic -- so sad that after ten years he was given away.) Not only is he old, but he's also really fat, at nearly 20 lbs! But he's a lovely cat, very friendly and affectionate, although a little shy. (So far, he's spent the majority of his time hiding under the couch or bed, but he purrs a lot and likes being pet, and he has come out a few times for cuddles.) While my husband and I had been discussing adopting a cat, and from where (SPCA, VOKRA, Cat Therapy & Rescue, etc), I was worried that it would be a huge hassle and that we would be rejected for some ridiculous reason. (VOKRA and Cat Therapy & Rescue seem a little intense -- I understand wanting to make sure that a cat goes to a good home, but good grief! Their rules and requirements are ridiculous!) However, we had no issues at all with the adoption at the SPCA. Once we decided on a cat, we filled out an application, a staff member asked us a few reasonable questions, as well as patiently answered all our questions about the cat, and it was done -- we had a kitty to take home! The cat's name was Seth Rogen, a name we hate (I don't even care for the actor), but it's wrong to change a cat's name when he's so old, so we tried calling him Seth. But the name just doesn't fit, and in the end, I'm calling him Beau, after Beau Nugget, an extremely obese cat whose weight loss journey can be watched on YouTube.

Frankly, after 5 years of loyalty (it's an *hour* commute for me!), I almost stopped coming here *because* of the previous management. They were often snide/snotty and acted like they were doing me a favour to take my $100 for cutting a dog's hair. (If traffic was an issue, I got a condescending lecture about being on time after arriving frazzled.). When they called to advise my dog was ready to be picked up (often well after he was supposed to be ready), I'd finish a short meeting downtown and head over... only to get another lecture about how they *could* charge me for not being there within 30 minutes of their call (I was 35-40, and always communicated where I was at; I would *not* take advantage of the situation, and actually planned my day around the doggie appointment). By comparison, the new management is sharp, friendly, and really understand customer service. When a mix up happened on scheduling, they offered to drop my dog off at my home... almost an hour away!!! (Even though it was a mutual screw up, they refused to take some gas money or a tip!) Most important they actually act like they know who the customer is. Attitude is everything in business, and the new team gets it, and are good at it. Oh, and it's the best darned haircut around for specialty breeds. Totally worth my drive.

I paid for Kaori to groom my dog but saw a male trimming her when I came to pick her up. Not sure who this dude is but he wasn't good.
