I've visited on two different occasions and I really recommend this place. It's the biggest SPCA Thrift Store I've been to yet. As of January 2024, there are two cats inside, which only makes the visit more fun!! There is a pretty wide range of clothing. Although the prices aren't cheap, they are reasonable and to be expected for SPCA Thrift Stores. It's pretty well maintained and I look forward to visiting it the next time I'm in Victoria Drive again.

I pass in front of this shop often but recently it seemed the owner or manager changed because the interior or display looked more artistic and creative. So I hopped in. Wow, all walls and tables were decorated nicely even inside of dressing room. I was really impressed with good sense of decorating with vintage item. With nice lounge music, I almost forgot my other errands. Items are very well maintained and good quality ones. Maybe overpriced a little but for the charity of SPCA, that was ok for me.

I love this place so much. If you're looking for cheap (not overpriced second hand shops like value vilage) vintage pieces this is the best place to go to. The owner is very friendly and negotiable depending on your budget. This place uplifts my mood everytime I go there. The biggest thing: there's a very cute cat named charlie and I suggest u give him a hug if u have a bad day=)

Promo sign setup during the summertime outside the shop.

Overpriced. The Chinese woman at the counter makes up her own inflated prices depending on if she likes you or not. Also very rude staff

It's set up nicely, it's clean, and organized well. My favourite part though, is that they have lots of gorgeous older pieces. You can tell that each piece is hand picked for the shop. So glad I finally stopped by!

Vancouver's vintage and consignment is already notoriously expensive and caters almost exclusively to a small dress size. Community, a Vintage and Consignment that is run by a non-profit Downtown Eastside housing and resource society not only engages with the neighbourhood it lives in, but also works to diversify its size range to engage with shoppers of many sizes. It hires women from the neighbourhood to work in the business and portions of the proceeds go back into the neighbourhood, which feels great while you shop! The space is small but well utilized and well decorated. Great jewelry by local designers is on display and the clothes have a very consistent and curated turnover rate. And the prices!! Compared to Vancouvers vintage scene, Community is absolutely the fairest price I've found yet. These days even Value Village is getting pricey so to go to a shop where the selection is so well picked out and find something affordable feels great. Again, I'm a plus size shopper who finds an amazing score here 90% of the time. Pieces from Community make up probably 50% of my wardrobe. See you there this weekend!

But something piqued my interest when I heard of Community Thrift and Vintage. I knew this one would be different then the rest. Man was I right. One part social enterprise, one part thrift store, all parts awesome, this pretty little boutique is retail-with-a-conscious to the highest order. A firm believer that the "thrift" in "thrift store" should be observed, I was beyond relieved to walk into an unpretentious, well-curated, and cheap(!!) vintage shop. Adhering to my "no uglies" policy, this not-for-profit opts for natural fibres when choosing their wares, and has a strict no polyester rule (thankthelawd). With its reclaimed wood and exposed brick walls, its well-curated wares, and its social advocacy and support of the DTES, Community Thrift could easily upsell cool to the masses. But they don't. And I love them so much more for it.

The selection was very hip & trendy, even though they label themselves as vintage. The abundance selection of scarves were impressive. I scored an authentic Coach wool scarf for $14 (Canadian dollars). It was in immaculate condition. I almost walked away with another scarf, but I had to control myself. I think if you're looking for a good selection of gently used unique scarves, this is the place to check out.
