Cute little thrift shop. As expected, plenty of carrying cases for pets. Interesting treasures!

It's set up nicely, it's clean, and organized well. My favourite part though, is that they have lots of gorgeous older pieces. You can tell that each piece is hand picked for the shop. So glad I finally stopped by!

Vancouver's vintage and consignment is already notoriously expensive and caters almost exclusively to a small dress size. Community, a Vintage and Consignment that is run by a non-profit Downtown Eastside housing and resource society not only engages with the neighbourhood it lives in, but also works to diversify its size range to engage with shoppers of many sizes. It hires women from the neighbourhood to work in the business and portions of the proceeds go back into the neighbourhood, which feels great while you shop! The space is small but well utilized and well decorated. Great jewelry by local designers is on display and the clothes have a very consistent and curated turnover rate. And the prices!! Compared to Vancouvers vintage scene, Community is absolutely the fairest price I've found yet. These days even Value Village is getting pricey so to go to a shop where the selection is so well picked out and find something affordable feels great. Again, I'm a plus size shopper who finds an amazing score here 90% of the time. Pieces from Community make up probably 50% of my wardrobe. See you there this weekend!

I was introduced to this store a few weeks ago by a friend of mine. Didn't even realize this store…read moreeven existed as it's quite easy to miss and nobody can tell this is a thrift store. The prices are actually very reasonable and cheap as far as I can tell. This store has a lot of books, plenty of CD, DVD & some Blu-ray. The prices for their books, CD & DVD are actually slightly cheaper than Salvation Army, so if you live in the North Vancouver area or is heading towards to Park & Tilford's Brooksbank area, which is around the Phibb's Exchange area, and often go into Salvation Army thrift stores to shop for these kinds of items in general, this place is worth a peak, but I doubt they restock as often as Salvation Army because I first came like 2~3 weeks ago with my friend and again today and most CD/DVD seemed the same. But they also have quite a lot of home renovation items as well, like doors and other home related items that you might need while renovating your place or if you wanted to replace a dresser and whatnot. So if you're doing this kind of stuff at your house and want to potentially save quite a lot of money in the process, this place might be a very good spot to check out to see if they have anything you could use. The employees I've encountered so far had been pretty friendly. Best of all, they also allow doggos to come in and stroll around as well, so if you want to bring your fur baby along to shop with you, you can. So it's pretty dog friendly. Definitely check this place out if you're someone who enjoys thrift store shopping and if you want to bring your dogs along too.

And as usual, they still play favourites with customers for no real reason and won't admit to it.... ‍ Also, lost count on how often the employees (usually the assistant manager), clearly don't have as much experience with customer service. I've seen worse but some is still really lacking. PS. Make sure you keep your eyes on your items. Had someone took something right from under me when I was looking at something for not even a 5 second. After I realized it, I tried to confront the guy myself but walked away after I realized he won't admit his wrong doing and might gotten the police involved if I continued. When I brought it up to security, they admitted they won't do anything about it. Granted, their safety is a priority but what is the point of having a security guard when you had an issue that is borderline theft and nobody will help you in this regards? This is the kind of store you guys are supporting here, folks.... Employees that might not want to right a wrong or help you if hits the fan unless if you're butt is injured and is a clear liability.

Folks as mentioned, don't bother with this store…read more On top of all the complaints I've mentioned multiple times about this location (most of which is still 100% true no matter how many times the manager here & head office wants to deny it or hide in her office for....), it just dawned on me that the company itself also don't care if they're acting unprofessional towards people with DISABILITIES, provided they got their money and the person left..... If you were to file multiple complaints to the company about this specific store in terms of any ongoing issues, the employees and manager will start to low key do things to the complaining customer(s) out of spite and laugh at the person behind their back while pretending to be polite with their fake smiles.... Then when it became apparent what they are doing to spite the complaining customer, you shouldn't even bother informing the customer service of this, even if it was stated that the person they're targeting to is a, of all people, a DISABLED person due to them just ignoring your emails and refuse to say anything.... And I'm not the only one they've ignoring the emails to either... Just shows that even if you're someone who's disabled and spent a bit of money at this place (whether by choice or due to hardships), these folks will never change and is just proof on its own along with their usual (not always but usually) expensive prices that some of these locations should be shut down or at least change employees and you needed to support the local business..... but I guess it's easier to stick your fingers in your ears and sing La La La La La and hopes the problem goes away...... Seriously, it's already bad enough they lowkey do things to spite anyone who complains, but after being informed the person filing the complaint is a disabled person and is brought to the attention and yet it still felt like they haven't backed down and their unprofessional behaviour remained the same and the guest service is still choosing to ignore? Yeah.... Amongst other issues this company has, being still behaving the way they do to the disable is a good enough of a reason you people need to just shop elsewhere. THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES.....

It's on the Granville strip but about as far from the expo skyTrain as possible and in the seedy part of the strip. It's no wonder they have a lot of security in the store - notably by the door and keeping an eye on shoppers inside. Came by for this particular visit on a Thursday afternoon to find the store reasonably quiet. Women's clothing and accessories are on the main level, men's is downstairs with a few additional women's clothes, books and a few other random pieces. The selection of clothing is curated somewhat, but you'll see everything from Joe fresh and old Navy to Balenciaga, Lululemon, Nike... It all depends on your luck, timing or lack thereof. Today I found a few items I was interested in. It took me a while to peruse and as I was narrowing down my items the fire alarm went off. Not knowing if the noise that was blaring was for a shoplifter or another security matter, no one paid it any mind. A few minutes later security came downstairs and quite rightly (but rudely) told everyone to leave. Fast forward ten minutes and the firefighters and truck arrived with everyone out of the store and I decided to leave with nothing purchased in hand, having left everything inside as directed. I did return later on into the store's credit. The few employees that I interacted with were efficient and pleasant if not friendly. It wouldn't be a value Village review without mentioning the prices. I think I was fortunate today that the few items I picked out were reasonably priced considering their condition, brand and quality. With that said, you do have to be picky and patient and make sure you check carefully for stains, damage, discoloration, etc. I do agree Mari that's shopping at this boutique does take some of the fun out of it. In theory they've done the hard work for you and so you'll pay more at this location. The best advice I can offer is know what you're looking for. Be patient and bring a coupon with you to bring the cost down a bit. Happy hunting!!
