BC Place is a great venue for concerts and sports games. It's even bigger than Rogers Arena in terms of capacity. 54,500 people can be seated for concerts or sports events. They sell hot dogs, burgers, Indian food, poutines, Mac N Cheese and Korean fried chicken. I personally find it they have a bit more variety than Rogers Arena. I had an opportunity to go here because of White Caps playoff back in November. I visited here the second time while my previous visit was for a concert. The stadium here is a dome shape which can be opened in summer. It was steamy hot the last time I visited here. The game unexpectedly took a long time that I had to stay about 5 hours after multiple penalty kicks. It was fun cheering for my favourite soccer player. My biggest gripe was the phone charger booth. It wasn't the portable type on the go. It was the type where you lock and store it in the box. Would've been better if was a portable type to carry around. Food was expensive overall. Costco food court is a cheaper option. There's a lactation pod available for new moms. read more

I got tickets for the opening game with the intent to see Snoop Dogg. Unfortunately, it was impossible to catch the concert because of how congested the place was with people waiting outside. This was disappointing. I think they need to ease up on how things are done. This is the second time I missed the opening act because of how ridiculous circumstances are with the crowd control. Don't sell tickets if you cannot guarantee that people are able to come in and see the concerts whenever they please. The seats are also very uncomfortable and it is not recommended to sit on for 3+ hours if you have horrendous health issues like sciatica or back problems. You cannot even bring a seat cushion. I prefer Rogers arena over this place. Note that they are also very picky with what type of bag you bring in. You have to bring a tiny bag that barely fits anything or an ugly transparent bag for this occasion. With so many factors to weigh in on, I would not want to come back as it is rather a large inconvenience. To the manager of this place: Please do better! We get better service at Rogers Arena and I am apprehensive about coming back as it has gotten worse! I missed the opening act of a U2 concert several years ago and now this?! read more

Went for the season opener of the Lions game. Snoop Dogg was performing and it was a good show. They have strict rules about bags size you can bring in. The line ups to get in were crazy long so give yourself an extra amount of time to get in. Drinks are pricey and be extremely careful with the amount you get charged. We got charged $35 for 2 Strongbows. Should of been $27 so I'm thinking they put the tip on. read more

WOW! This stadium was a fantastic location for the end of the Eras Tour! The inside was easy to get around and the staff was fabulous! Lots of food and drink options at all levels (we went two nights and sat in different areas). I think there could be better signage for leaving but other than that, excellent venue! read more

I'll start with good. - easy entry for the size - from floor, even 400s didn't seem too high - acoustics were good for a soccer stadium - close to train stations - relatively decent drink prices compared to US venues. We saw AC/DC in BC Place this week. The show was great but security was overbearing, and when we were sitting in our seats at the end of the show to rest while the crowd at the exits thinned out, we were told we needed to leave because the cleaners were coming in - this was 5 minutes after the end. Then we entered the nightmare of the maze trying to get out. I felt like we walked up 20 ramps trapped in a slow-moving crowd. We had used the exit from the floor, but I think it would've been better to walk up to the 200 level in the stadium to exit. I did enjoy that Robson was shut down to cars for several blocks for the crowd. read more

I've been to BC Place a number of times, most recently to see The Rolling Stones! I've sat at different places in the venue before for various shows and I believe the sound quality is excellent everywhere. Of course, it's a big venue, so if your seats are far away, you might have a hard time seeing the details on the stage. I knew in advance the food and drinks inside the venue are expensive, so I'd recommend having a bite and drink elsewhere downtown before going to a show here. read more

i recently watched a whitecaps game and found the inside of bc place to be a bit stuffy and smelly. however, i admire the exterior of bc place more, especially with the ever-changing lights that illuminate downtown. the southsiders and the family zone were impressive with their chants of "let's go whitecaps, let's go." at this particular game, brian white scored three of the four goals (which is a hat trick, right), leading to a victory over st. louis. after every goal, the announcer says the first name and the crowd in unison cheers the surname, and in true canadian style, the crowd replies , 'you're welcome' when the announcer says 'thank you'. bc place has hosted numerous significant events, including the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2010 winter olympics, concerts by u2, coldplay, ed sheeran, and the highly anticipated, three day eras tour in december. i have attended this stadium for the one direction 'on the road again' concert (without zayn malik) and have been to several bc lions games, the auto show, and the home & garden show, to name a few. be warned, there's a lot of walking inside this stadium, and there are slopes once you get inside. it's best to avoid wearing heels to concerts if possible. i'm not a fan of their strict bag restrictions either. for safety and security, they check everyone, and you must walk through a metal detector. there's a great drum line at the whitecaps game. i can't remember what i saw when the roof was retracted. the floors were sticky, but the seats were comfortable enough, with a cup holder in front towards the floor. i could feel the vibration thud from the seats as each heavy step ascended and descended the stairs. read more

I've had the opportunity to come to BC place a number of times for events (concerts, soccer games etc). It is a decently big stadium that can hold over 50,000 people and it can be a walk around. Many gates to enter from. There's pretty much a concession or food stall at almost each gate that offers snacks, drinks and others. read more

The drinking area was great ( but the fact that you can't take your beverage into the stadium confuses me, I mean you can buy the drinks right inside) so why don't they make it so you can enter through the drinking area to keep the party going makes no sense‍ read more

Came here for the end of the Eras Tour. I liked the easy entry into the venue, the proximity to the train station, and overall the sound and acoustics seemed great. My biggest con was that we couldn't take water bottles out onto the floor so all our drinks had to be opened and the girls in front of me kept knocking my drinks over and spilling them. Maybe other venues do this as well so I'm not sure if this is specific to BC place. Overall positive experience. read more

Great place to watch a soccer match! The stadium is massive so it's only partially utilized for a match. The weather was great this evening, with the beautiful blue skies overhead. There are a bunch of food options, even some vegetarian ones. The deals they have on some food are amazing compared to my home stadium. I was able to find the $5 spot and get a veggie dog (yes veggie!), small soda, and popcorn for $13 USD. That's how much one of these items would cost at my soccer stadium. The tickets for the matches were also reasonably priced so it's a fun and affordable place to spend an evening. And there are lots of places to have a pregame or post game drink as it's conveniently located near lots of things. read more

Came here for a Whitecaps game and thought everything was organized very well and kept very clean! The stadium seating, food stalls and washrooms were spotless. And we really enjoyed the variety of food stalls they have here! We tried a few - the Porky Pine Sandwich The Beast (loved the creativity but the pork was a little mushy), Korean Fried chicken from Seoul Food (a fun take on stadium food but no replacement for restaurant quality Korean Fried Chicken), Mini Donuts from City ( can't go wrong with mini donuts)! Is it a spider web? A crown? What is the top of BC Place supposed to be? I miss it's marshmellow fluffy top. BC Place is host to the BC Lions, Vancouver Whitecaps, Canada Sevens, as well as the BC Sports Hall of Fame. The building itself was completed in the early 80's and is showing it's age. While the sound system was upgraded and paired with HD screens when the top was replaced in after the 2010 Olympics, the building itself still feels old. The good news is that it hasn't lost the ability to get loud. With a capacity of 54,000 when the upper bowl is opened up, it's by far our largest stadium/arena. I have fond memories of visiting BC Place for auto shows, the exhibition baseball (Go Mariners!), and more... I'm glad to see during my recent visit for Lions games that it still stands strong. read more

I was there for The Weekend concert. The music and entertainment wise, it was fantastic evening. After the entrance gate, we were provided a wrist band with some devices. Nobody know what it is. As I assumed it might be needed when I leave there for security reason, I took it. However it was NOT! It was flashing device for certain music and verse. It was programed for colour and pattern and automatically flash. It was magically beautiful and cool senary. So don't forget to take it next time! The worst part was deadly hot inside of BC Place. For opening act hours like between 6:30pm to 9pm, it was very hot inside and purchased 1L of water for just in case. And because of the laser light attraction, they didn't open the roof. Not much AC either. Everyone sweating and can you imagine your arm touch sweaty stranger?? It was happening everywhere until you leave the venue. read more

I came here for the Ed Sheeran Concert and the concert itself was great and the venue is large and spacious but recently I came to watch a BC Lions Game and they have the absolute worst bag policy here. My purse was just a tiny bit bigger than the size that they were allowing and made a huge deal/fuss about it. I don't care if you go through my bag manually for security purposes or put it through the security scanner but honestly what can you put in a purse that small? Barely anything! What if it's that time of the month and you need extra supplies for emergency? Ladies do you feel me on this one? They force you to check your bag in for 10 dollars, 10 bucks for each purse. Seems just like a money grab and get this, it's not even a proper check-in. You basically pay to leave your bag outside with no one really guarding your stuff, and security will not be held responsible if your belongings are lost, stolen or damaged. So shame on BC place for this since most people can hardly afford to live in Vancouver anymore. The security was just rude and seemed like they're all on some sort of power trip. There's also really no gluten free or friendly items here so that's another thing if you're celiac or gluten intolerant, they make so much money they can't even offer that but want to charge $10 for a bag check that's not even inside or secure. Ridiculous! This is why I prefer Rogers Arena over this stadium because I don't know who came up with all these rules. Also it was freezing too, it felt like the doors were open plus the air con was on and I was wearing a parka over my sweaters but I was still freezing. read more

If you need a tarp to cover your truck, get a "Van Cover." This is not that. They don't wear black caps or grey caps, that's for sure. So Vancouver are using an old name and an old team and have launched their brand new MLS team and a wonderful one at that. They do a really great job and I'm happy that the Pacific Northwest of the USA now has a nearby rival in Canada because it really adds something to the league. They just need to be a little bit stronger sporting wise to compete with the likes of Seattle and Portland. As for the store... While admittedly it is quite expensive to buy merchandise from the Vancouver Whitecaps, it's still a great symbol of Vancouver and something which this city doesn't really do in some of the other sports, so it's great that the people of Vancouver have their own sport and their own crest and their own shirts now. They play at BC Place. BC Place is an absolutely beautiful Stadium where the Vancouver Whitecaps play, as well as the CFL team here. They get wonderful crowds up here and it's a very tough team to come and beat. Having said that it still doesn't quite have the energy of its local rivals Seattle and Portland and hopefully in time it will build that up. It's a weird, different, unusual stadium, but it has so much soul that I can't not love it. The retractable roof is weird AF but cool. It only houses 22k or so when MLS is playing, but it gets really intense and it's great. It can go up to 55k which I assume will start happening when this team eventually starts doing well in playoffs. They need that second tier and a bigger fan base to make it a fortress, around your heart, as Sting would say. read more

Spent 3 nights at Convention Centre at the Coors Party and saw a lot of drunk people from all different teams who had a great time. Then at the game 3 people in my section were over served and become so verbally abusive and threatening that it ruined the whole experience for us. When you let someone buy over 10 beers during one game, it's going to get ugly It's embarrassing for my city of Vancouver to welcome people from all across the country and not ensure their safety and well being. Incredibly disappointed in BC Place. But it will never change because beer sales are more important. Incredibly impressed with Vancouver Convention Centre and their Grey Cup Festivities. read more

More on that later in my review. What a spectacular show! Queen Bey & Jay-Z put on a master performance that had the whole of BC Place shaking! The floor was literally moving on my level!!! They came to slay & did they ever! This musical spectacle had us on our feet for almost 3 hours! Getting in was surprisly smooth. I went to that fiasco & shambles of a gate entry if ever there was one - the U2 concert last year & what a difference it was to enter BC Place this time! So well done on that front & thank you BC Place for not having us line up for 2 hours just to get in! Surprisingly the longest lineups were for merchandise - Tshirts, hats, tops etc. Wow! Never seen so many $50 (starting at!) tshirts get scooped up like that. Hello eBay! LOL 40,000 fans were not disappointed! This is how a show should be done!!! Bravo to the Carters indeed! The band & dancers were all on point & performed to high level! The stage & lighting complimented the show! Now regarding the sound quality - BC Place continues to be notorious for being the venue that 'sucks the sound' out of the performance! I'm not saying it was all that bad however, having attended shows at Rodgers Arena, The Jazz Alley & Century Link Field - the last two both in Seattle - there's a massive difference in sound output. The tone & quality needs vast improvement at BC Place! I saw both JayZ last December & Janet Jackson prior to that at Rodgers Arena & I tell you the sound output difference is noticeable! I'm wondering if sound is escaping through the large side openings on the floor where teams & equipment come through? When Beyoncé sang a powerful solo in a white wedding dress, I found the sound to be slightly muffled. Perhaps it's time to set up large roof hanging canopies that could perhaps bounce the sound back downwards for a better listening experience! BC Place like other venues needs to better manage & get control on the no smoking ban inside their venue! A good start would be a ban on - matches & lighters! Why are these items still allowed at concerts!? As a true sign to me of a massive sound performance I need to leave an arena with - 'Rae Sremmurd' which translates to - my ears need to be ringing like crazy after the show - equals high quality sound output!!! Overall & above the sound hiccups - a super fantastic concert nonetheless & one I'll remember for a long time!!! I'm already longing for - On the Run 3!!! read more

Never would I have imagined that I'd be going to a rave, let alone one across the border! My friends and I attended Contact Festival 2015 this past weekend, which was held at BC Place. The highs of the night: - Plenty of standing space and seating for the expert and new raver. As this was my first time at a rave, I didn't really know what to expect in terms of the crowd. Thankfully, BC Place was a large enough venue that we could avoid the crowd altogether if we wanted to. :) - Stage setup, sound and lighting - Great stage setup! Whether you're up in the crowd or just chilling in the back, I loved how you can see and hear it all. - Restrooms - I was surprised with how relatively clean the restrooms were, even at the end of the night! It might have helped that they had porta-potties down on the main floor. - Parking - The supposedly sketchy looking outdoor parking lot right by the stadium turned out to be one of the best decisions we made that night. Note: The nearby Costco also had event parking in their garage BUT it was about $35 per car. PASS. The lows of the night: - BC Place, why are you so cold?! I know that it's winter and all, but the stadium was FREEZING the entire night. - $8 beers........ Note: You needed two forms of ID to get your alcohol wristband! - Lack of trashcans on the main floor - At the end of the night, you were walking through all sorts of garbage. Blech. :/ - End of event exiting - Four or five sets of stairs up to the gates, but of course everyone chose the one or two. I think there could have been better direction/traffic flow at the end of the event. Overall, I can see why BC Place is a popular choice for large-scale events. I think the next time I visit will have to be for a summer event when it's a tad warmer inside, haha. :) read more

Went to BC Place Stadium for the Auto Show this past weekend. When I look at public spaces I try and look at them in two ways. First did I personally have a good experience as a user of BC Place Stadium? Yes it was A-OK visit. The lighting of Main Arenas / Exhibition Area Space has greatly improved. I also enjoyed the new Terry Fox Plaza. The Restrooms also got a much needed upgrade. I still do not care for the long concrete tunnel/ramps to get you to seating area and the fact that I did not see One Fresh Water drinking fountain for guests to use. As Tax Payer was this a good use of many Hundreds of Millions of B.C. Citizens Tax Dollars? ME-THINKS-NOT I do not remember citizens getting a direct voice or vote on this nearly 1 Billion dollar investment. At $10,000.000 a kilometre we could have built 90 kilometres of state of the art public transit and with the $100,000.000 let over we could have trained at least 350 new Physicians for the people of B.C. to improve the health of the entire Province. For now I will settle for going to a few sporting events and a trade show each year as a return on this public investment. read more

It has been so long since I've stepped foot into BC Place Stadium that I can't remember how it looked like before the renovations. The only difference that I can see (and remember) is the roof. At first, it looked unfinished, but then it grew on it. The stadium is very unique and looks awesome lit up at night. I came here for the Vancouver International Auto Show(http://vancouverinternationalautoshow.com/) and I noticed the carpets and walls looked a lot newer. (I think?) There was also a scent of Frebreeze everywhere I went. Not sure if that was from the carpet or the cars. There is a food court on the bottom floor and I believe most of the businesses were new too. (Viji's, Steveston Fish and Chips and etc) read more

I toyed with giving one star but I'm going to be generous since the event we attended here was incredible despite how inept they were. I will point out that it's not often that you attend an event at a venue where they screw up so badly that it makes the national news of the country you're in the next morning. I brought my daughter up from WA to see the opening night of the U2 Joshua Tree Tour to celebrate her 18th birthday. Some of our friends from Bellingham drove up as well and let us know that things were pretty messed up at the venue so we skipped dinner and got there as quick as we could. What a mess! There was no clear lines, or order. We fought our way back and forth through the crowd a couple of times and still had no idea what line or entrance we were supposed to use. I'm a big guy so I had my daughter get behind me and I just plowed through the mass of people like a bulldozer. A bunch of people saw this and fell in line behind my daughter to bulldoze through the crowd with us. We went half way around the building and back before I gave up and snuck us in through a side door that I noticed was open and unattended. We never did show our tickets or have them scanned. The venue was fine and the acoustics were good. It wasn't a bad large venue at all but they need to fire everyone in charge there and start over. We ultimately had one of the greatest nights ever but that first part was frustrating. If I liked Mumford and Sons, I would have been annoyed that I missed part of their show because of all of this but I don't so I'll let it ride. This is the first time I've seen U2 where they had an opening act I didn't really like but they more than made up for it with their own show. The next morning we woke up at our hotel and turned on the CBC morning news and this mess was the lead story. Believe it or not, this isn't the first time I've woken up the morning after a U2 concert and found the show to be the top story on the news for bad reasons. I saw them at Rice Stadium at the University of Utah with Rage Against the Machine in 1997. My buddy I went with was friends with Miss UT from the Miss America Pageant and we sat with her which was cool but the show started super late and we didn't know why until we turned on the TV in the morning and found out there was a very credible bomb threat that delayed U2's entrance. That wasn't the top story on the national news but it was locally and it did make the national news. What are the chances I die at a U2 concert someday? I'd say it would probably be worth it... read more

Oh wow, they've really cleaned this place up, for the Olympics and beyond. Parking is available if you like paying an arm and a leg. They really know how to milk you. The inside is still the same old concrete shell, but they've prettied things up. A good example would be the washrooms. There are now colourful Olympic-themed tiles adorning the walls. It looks much more modern. Props to the people who were tasked with designing the interior. The new roof is just as beautiful on the inside as on the outside. I really like the nice decorative sails as well on the inside by the upper deck. Makes the stadium look more modern. The special thing worth mentioning is the (looks like) full-HD TV in the middle of the stadium. This thing is ridiculously clear. Puts my TV at home to shame. The new-style metal and plastic seats were probably put in to make cleaning super-easy, but these things are not that comfy at all. My main issue here is that the seats are too upright. Hence the 3 stars instead of 4. Making the seatbacks a bit taller (just a few centimetres) would be nice as well. Overall it's a nice improvement over the old version, and that roof really is pretty. read more

The BC Place was renovated couple years ago and was said the roof top can be open. But once the roof top is open it can't be close. Its like a joke. The BC Place is quite big and there are a few events in here once in awhile. Seats are not the most comfy seats ever. They are pretty ghetto. The layout is similar to Rogers Arena but the BC place is seen in a lower scale compared to Rogers Arena. Overall its not bad to watch a soccer game in here. Its an icon of Vancouver from the outside. Many people take pictures of BC Place and make posters out of them. It represent Vancouver. read more

Recently flew down to BC Place midweek to see my beloved San Jose Earthquakes get smashed 5-0 in the MLS playoffs by the Whitecaps who call it home. It certainly wasn't a fun game to watch, but it was a decent stadium experience. First off, it's a beautiful stadium (turf field non-withstanding). The bright blue lighting on the outside is beautiful, and it's very nicely built. Great atmosphere. The concessions are also quite good, and very reasonable in price compared to what I'm used to back in the states. Another benefit is they take US dollars, although at Canadian rates, so you'll lose some value. I was in the visiting supporters section, and for the most part things were pretty peaceful between us and the Whitecaps fans. However, because our sector was right next to one of the exits for all fans, many of the Whitecaps supporters were coming out and taunting us as they were getting concessions once we were losing. You can imagine that didn't go down well, and there were a few scuffles due to how few security there was originally. Well, once security did show up, they surrounded our entire sector, and all was good from there. Security wasn't overbearing at all, but did force us to wait for all home supporters to leave before we were let out (a 30 minute wait). But they were friendly, a stark difference from how security treats away fans at most stadiums. I'm glad there is a bag check. It was super easy to find, although I will note it is outside in covered tents. So if you have valuable electronics, be aware they could get a little rain as it's not 100% covered. Overall a nice experience, and a game trip I'm thinking of doing again in the future. If only the Quakes get their stuff together on the road... read more

Now I've been to US football stadiums before, ones that are packed to the gills for events so much that you can hardly move. And my family are HUGE fans of American football and we like attending sporting events together so I figured, what better way to have a good family outing than to hit up everyone's (except my husband) first Canadian football game while they were here on their most recent visit to the Great Whtie North. It wasn't easy getting to the gate and with two parents who have slight mobility issues, it wasn't easy for them to walk up the steps nor keep walking around the arena in search of an easier way in. It was easy to get in but once we were actually inside the building it was difficult to get through a long line of people that we're getting a giveaway or whatever. They should really rethink the location of things like this because it wasn't a very smart idea to put it right inside the door. After sending my husband and dad to scope out the seats aka go sit down while my mom and I do our usual lap around the arena, scoping out where the washrooms are and what is available foodwise throughout the arena. To be honest, we were kind of disappointed in what the food offerings were compared to Rogers Arena next door that had all sorts of food. But BC Place seemed to have basic stadium food. The only good thing is that they had this chicken strip bucket combo with fries that was easy to share even though the food wasn't all that great... though still a bit tasty. Maybe the atmosphere is better and less chaotic when it's not a BC Lions game and I will definitely​ have to test out that theory somewhere down the line. It's not the worst arena I've been too and it certainly isn't the best and there's room for improvement. read more

Women's World Cup 2015! Beautiful stadium, parking wasn't too bad, signage everywhere which made it easy to navigate thru the busy streets of Vancouver. Pros: tons of bathrooms and snack bars if your hungry, beautiful open rooftop stadium, lots of friendly staff to get you in the right place, beer stands take credit cards if you did not exchange US dollars, AND USA WON OVER NIGERIA 1-0! Cons: they only sell Budweiser! What? Really? One option? Don't get me wrong the King of beers doesn't scare me but to only have one choice just blows! On another note: the upper levels of the stadium had no TV's in the walkways by there were a ton downstairs. I attended my first Canadian Football League game here back in 2006 when I witnessed the home team BC Lions devour the hapless Calgary Stampeders 39-13. The seats in the upper deck (Section 39, Row LL) were very good with an excellent view of the entire field, and the fans were much more enthusiastic and less abusive than NFL fans. According to venue details that I obtained from the Guest Services office the stadium is recognized as the world's largest air supported dome stadium. In May of 2008, plans were unveiled for stadium renovations to take place to give the stadium better accessibility for patrons attending the 2010 Winter Olympic Games which will be hosted by the City of Vancouver. Additional renovations following the Olympic Games will see the familiar air supported dome removed in favor of a retractable roof. Despite a very enjoyable experience I'm forced to subtract one star because an idiot security guard told me that bringing in my 35mm SLR with standard wide angle lens posed a security issue. Meanwhile, I witnessed other fans with cameras and longer lenses who were allowed to bring theirs into the stadium. Note that the signs outside the stadium indicated that video cameras were banned but made no mention of still cameras. I have not returned to the stadium since. read more

I always find it a bit odd reviewing stadium/venues but I feel like they don't get enough love on Yelp and when they do it is usually biased towards the associated event the reviewer attended. First, BC Place is obviously a staple of Vancouver and most are familiar, however, I'll share my takeaways. First, they have a pretty efficient system for getting you in the stadium for an event. There are plenty of entrances and they utilize each of them. We arrived around the start of our event (rush hour for getting in) and we spent no more than 5-10 min in line. Next, there are plenty of restrooms spread around the concentric rings of the stadium, so, nearly, no matter where you sit you're never more then a few minute walk from relieving yourself, unless you sit in the GA area during a concert. One area I felt they fell short in was concessions. I may be spoiled but I wish more places would adopt the Barclays Center's (Brooklyn, NY) model of sourcing local food spots. This way you get a diverse choice of vendors and more people are happy with the options. Overall, it's a nice place. read more

BC place is where the Vancouver Whitecaps play and it's probably one of the nicer stadiums on the West Coast for soccer. It's a well-designed stadium and I like the design and structure. read more

I went to the Weeknd concert, he was amazing, he put on a great show, despite how uncomfortable the venue was. It was very difficult to fully enjoy the experience due to feeling like I was in a sauna with 54,000 of us in the arena. There was absolutely NO AIR CONDITIONING in this arena, so disappointing and not a good experience. A lady that was a bit older beside me I thought I would have had to call EHS for her worried she was going to pass out from the heat. BC Place, with all that money you spent on such an expensive upgrade, this is unacceptable and you should refund or give patrons a discount if you want them to come back in the future. read more

Ever since they did the renos and designed those cool night lights, I'm a believer now that Vancouver nightlines aint so boring after all lol. Still, the interior is dull, was here for the Lululemon annual sale earlier this year, and amazed by its lack of technology and boringness, compared to the Amercians' sports stadiums like Safeco and the San Jose Sharks HP Pavilion :) read more

Watched a WhiteCaps game with my girlfriend on a Saturday. The stadium was beautiful and well built. The seats were comfy but did not leave you a lot of arm room but that's quite common in sports stadiums. Food was over priced. Once again quite common at sporting events. The atmosphere for the WhiteCaps game on the other hand was Amazing! We sat in section 243 which is quite close to where the southsiders are. You are close enough to get into the game and cheer with the southsiders but not too close to where you have to stand up and chant the whole game. Would recommend watching a game here of any sort and sitting in our seats, just depending on where your priorities are. read more

Oh, Canada. I do enjoy our planned encounters, but you have to do something about that monstrosity of a pimple you have on your butt, also known as BC Place. I must admit, on the exterior, it looks nice enough. It's large with surrounding bars and eateries and other businesses, encasing the stadium into a nice, snug community of fun. Walking inside, looks fairly new with clean bathrooms and glittering amenities, it all should seemed as if it would add up to one helluva time. (Btw, what the f-word is up with BC Place selling ONLY Budweiser? And why are they selling it in baby-Dixie cups?? AND, why the flupps are they charging so much for it?!) It isn't the outside that counts. It isn't even the inside, either. It's the inner-inside that shows its true colors. I have no idea what this place is like at a sports event, but coming here for a concert (Jay-Z/JT), it was like putting my ear against a blown-out speaker. To add to the sadness, we were seated a distance away, and the BC Place geniuses decided to NOT use the jumbotron for us to enjoy the concert, but instead, decided we'd be good just squinting and watching the two mini-screens to the left and right of the stage. I'm thankful my lady didn't spend outrageous amounts of money on floor seats because a) that's just a waste o' money and b) I'm aging and my ears have the tendency to bleed whenever anyone exceeds the volume of 3. BUT, BC Place, as a respected venue, you need to get the basics right. The business transaction doesn't end when you get our money, but when the customer leaves your business awed by how the concert experience inside matched the efforts taken to make the outside beautiful. read more
