This is more a review of Disney on ice than anything else. Disney truly operates on a completely different level and Disney on Ice is no exception. From beginning to end, the experience feels magical and incredibly family friendly. What impressed me most was how accommodating they are toward children. Watching their faces light up throughout the show was almost as entertaining as the performance itself. The skaters do such a fantastic job bringing the characters to life that it genuinely feels like you're watching the movies right in front of you. Add in the music, the sing-along moments and all the Disney magic and you have an experience that creates memories long after the show is over. read more

Embarrassing and awful customer service I experienced at the Vancouver Goldeneyes game. I was the last person in line and I overheard someone tell my cashier "after you finish with the last customer, go on your break". Since I was the last person/only person left in his line, it was very clear that they meant to help me and then go on break. However, he packed an order in a bag for another customer and put the "closed" sign directly in front of me and walked away. I immediately questioned him and he told me to go to another line and someone will help me there. Expecting me to either budge in front of other customers or line up at the back of another line. It was extremely embarrassing, infuriating, and hurtful. No other cashier or server came to help me. Other customers were also surprised at what happened. I eventually spoke to one other cashier who ended up helping me immediately. But what a horrible and humiliating experience. Other customers came up to me afterwards to let me know that what happened was absolutely awful, which is very kind of them but it does not change my experience. read more

Didn't know what to expect for my first monster jam but it was fairly pleasant - minus how cramp the seats were and I'm not even that tall. Like/ super chill stadium unlike the states. No clear bags. People brought bag, food. Toys! Pretty chill/ laid back. Got a very very last minute tickets- 200 zone but I was very close to the field! I like that. Row 2 though, so maybe that's why. Food, drinks and toys are insane for lines and prices. And no coffee ‍ Not bad for my first jam- and in Van city!!! read more

Recently attended a Monster Jam event here. Parking onsite is $25 (via app) with multiple parking lots, as street parking is limited. Pro tip: Arrive at least 1 hour early otherwise you'll just be in queue with other car traffic to probably end up parking farther away, forcing you to drag the kids in because they're tired of walking. The coliseum is relatively small and easy to navigate; it does look older, but basic enough for these events. Food is obviously a bit more expensive for the convenience, but I've seen worse value. I'm not a big guy, but the seats are narrow, condensed together, without ample front legroom; also you have to annoyingly stand up when someone is trying to squeeze through your row. Heads up for parents, the stairs are a bit steep and treacherous for young toddlers. read more

We were here for a Goldeneyes game March 18th, and from the security outside to the concession to the ushers to the game presentation entertainment, it was all outstanding. It's a great arena with a lot of history, and the Goldeneyes are fine custodians. They provide a good hockey product, and the atmosphere for paying customer is like a party, and engaging for all ages. I would recommend going to a Goldeneyes game any chance you can get. read more

I recently went to the Pacific Coliseum as a Cirque Du Soleil show called 'Crystal' was being shown there. I've previously been to the coliseum in previous years for other events as well. It's a smaller area (if we're comparing it to Roger's arena or BC place for example) so it definitely feels intimate in a way. Easy to get around and find what you need to (seats, washrooms etc). Parking though is expensive unfortunately so do keep that in mind if you're driving. read more

Yes, this was home to the Canucks like almost 20 years ago. The on going jokes on what happed in 1994. Even I know the significance of that game. I was here recently and have to give credit where it's due. This is a very intimate venue considering the seating. One can actually see the puck/ball in the bleachers. For historical significance and even at present, it is a great venue. Multiple parking lots available. Location is 12-30 minutes from downtown. Close to hwy 1 and north shore and Burnaby. Clean washroom and ample hall/room in the aisle. This isn't Royal Albert Hall, but with some creative ideas, they could be it with where it's located. Food wise, they can work on it. White Spot, Candy floss, they could have a better alcohol selection too. read more

Came here for Disney on Ice. Previously I've seen metal bands here, the highlight being Pantera and White Zombie in 1996 (oh wow that's crazy how long ago it was! ) The line up to get in wasn't too long and the staff that welcomed us were friendly. Its an older facility, but the stage was clear and highly visible from where we sat. Lines were typically long for concession stand. The 5$ pretzel was overly dry and hard, with salt ending up in the bottom of my purse... The line for alcohol was super short and fast, but the selection was very limited. I had a wine and my gf had an hard hot apple cider. Both overpriced, but this is to be expected. At intermission the bathroom lines were insanely long! It was very wet on the floors and could of used a good cleaning and a coat of paint. This wouldn't be my first choice as a venue to see a show, but for what it was I cant complain. read more

I came here for many events. The latest one was the Lordco event. Pacific Coliseum is located on the Pacific National Exhibition grounds. I usually come in during the Fair time. Of course Pacific Coliseum is not as big as Rogers Arena. The Coliseum is big and yes it is old. I would say it's kept in ok condition. They have couple areas where food can be purchased. Parking is not free (but is dependent on event). Yes they do have a parking lot beside it. read more

Now that the Coliseum is no longer the venue for the Canucks, the building is now used for various events and shows. Parking is available on the PNE grounds if you like throwing money away. I would recommend looking to the side streets to the W and N if you want to save your pennies. The age of the building shows, but you're really here to just check out the booths, or enjoy a show. The catered food is mediocre at best. If you have to pick between a sandwich, burger, or hotdog, do the hot dog followed by the burger. read more

Pacific is an older arena but it is a great size for concerts. I've seen Depeche Mode here and other events. The sound was great. Once I arrived late to a concert where my tickets were at will call and it was closed. Security took the time to check my friend and I out to make sure we were legit and let us in. Thank goodness since we drove 3 hours and got stuck at the border for awhile as well. Parking is nuts and not enough for the crowd that descends upon the place but I think that's the way it is at every concert I've been to. read more

I love seeing shows at the Pacific Coliseum! Not only is it close to my house, but I've never found any issues with the sound quality. The washroom lineups are insane though... they should consider adding one or two extras for the women. I've always been really impressed with how clean they are despite the traffic. I've never had any problem seeing the show due to my height here, which is often an issue for me. Even if you get stuck up in the seating section, it's laid out well and you should be fine. I've never bothered with getting food here, but there is a White Spot, which is odd and handy at the same time. The beer lines are frightening. You should probably pre-drink outside in the bushes. There are a lot of those, so it shouldn't be hard. read more

For nostalgic reasons, I can almost give this a 4 stars, the good old days when we could just walk up on game day to pay only $8 lol. Not sure how many hours of delivering newspapers but I digress. Concrete, concrete and more concrete. Really, an impressive building at the time. The round structure better for sound acoustics and sight lines apparently. Actually, in some ways, the view here is much better for a hockey game, on a steeper incline looking down. Mens' washrooms are very ancient, last time a few years ago at a Giants game, sure makes me appreciate Rogers Arena lol. Parking here is efficient considering the residential area west of it. read more

What can I say about the Pacific Coliseum? It is old really really old for sure. The seats are very cramped in the 4 corners of the building. The concessions are old and run decently by the PNE staff. This really should add up to a bad location for an event. But the weird thing is it really does not. Maybe it's just nostalgia on the part of all us Vancouverites. This is still a great place to go watch a concert or catch a Vancouver Giants game or any other event that is held here. Like most places there is a 2 alcoholic drink maximum per person but that just means you get some exercise while drinking (I mean watching the game). read more

It's the Original home of the Vancouver Canucks NHL team, and the current home of the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League. I assume they have other things going on here when the Giants are not using the Arena- that being said, one thing I remember most about this place, if they have the 2nd level open is that its very steep without much railings there- I remember going to the Memorial Cup there a couple years ago, and a Canucks game x amount of years ago lol- and getting to my seat and just staying there lol. (Fortunately for the Memorial Cup, there was some seats near the glass no one was sitting in, so moved to those and the ushers didnt say anything, so did that rest of the series lol) There is a good amount of parking nearby, and good options for food and drinks as well. read more

TORUK: Beautiful stage, lots of lights and cool costume. But, boring, very little acrobatics, too much talking, and barely any interesting act. Very disappointing and definitely the worst show i have seen from them. I enjoyed the movies a lot more! I would have given it much better rating if it was advertised as a broadway musical show rather than circus! Venue oh well. If you live in Vancouver you know it's old and I'm ok with that if I'm watching a hockey game. But for a show like this, it was disgusting. I could hear people walking, running and shouting in the hall way, lights shining true, smelling the burnt oil and burger the whole time. My entire body smelt like fast food by the time I left there. read more

Built as part of the Pacific National Exhibition grounds in the north of the city, Pacific Coliseum is a 15000 seat arena that is currently home to the Vancouver Giants junior ice hockey team. It is also the former home of the Vancouver Canucks NHL team before they moved to GM Place in downtown Vancouver. It's a great location to watch ice hockey with catering provided by White Spot, meaning better burgers and fries than you would normally associate with sports venues. It will also be the location for the short-track speed skating and figure skating events at the 2010 Winter Olympics. Tickets for Giants games are around $20, much cheaper and easier to get hold of than those for Canucks games. If you're in Vancouver in the winter, it's a fun place to go to watch a good game! read more

TERRIBLE VENUE FOR CONCERTS. I attended the Tyler the Creator concert and the venue & staff were horrible. I arrived at 8:30am and was first in line- doors opened at 6:00pm. Absolutely no organization for the line up & unfair system of opening doors so people who arrived early were not able to get in. There was no direction or any staff to direct us to the floor. The security guards fought with each other & were super dysfunctional and refused to help with anything. Very very bad organization & management. read more

I have a love hate relationship with the Coliseum. I've been to over 300 shows in my 17 year concert resume at this venue. I love the memories of seeing some of my favorite bands in the early days, however, by today's standards it's not a good venue sound wise. It's better for Rogers to book double nights when possible than sticking a show here. It's manly for punk and new-ish bands where people don't really care about high end production and it's just a bunch of kids on the GA floor. It's outdated for sure as a music venue. I've been here for Giants games in the past. The food is okay, nothing stellar. Low end meats and carbs for inflated prices. Parking is over priced and side street if you're lucky is a battle. For those who take the bus, going to the show is not a problem but good luck having transit accommodate with buses on demand to get you back to the station. Other than hockey I am not sure what the real purpose of the building is other than housing the Super Dogs at the PNE for two weeks of the summer. If it was close to a skytrain station it would be a score. read more
