They set up a nice tent outside of the establishment for proper shade and seating. When my boyfriend and I walked into the tent, we used the hand sanitizer available and took any seat. The waitress came out and gave us the menu. She was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered the small bbq nachos with pork to share, and there was plenty to share! There was a great portion of meat, nachos toppings, and sauce! It was super tasty and great amount for a small. We also ordered the Kansas City cut brisket, which comes with two sides, so we chose the Mac and cheese, and smoked bacon Brussels sprouts. The waitress was kind enough to have the kitchen separate the meal into two plates prior to serving us! I love this place because they have six different types of bbq sauces, and our favorite was the white one and chipotle. The brisket was tender and juicy! The Mac and cheese was okayyyy, it seemed to lack some flavor, and the Brussels sprouts were fine. Everything was served in plastic so it could easily be disposed of after. Great service and food. This is one of the better BBQ restaurants we've been to in northern IL. They have a couple of locations in IL and also one in Kenosha, WI. For starters we had the nachos which comes in a small or large. We chose the pulled pork on it. It comes with both the white and chipotle BBQ sauce on it. The small is enough for your entree or shared amongst 3-4 people as an appetizer. For the entree we chose the two meat platter. Both the ribs and brisket were amazing. You get a half rack of ribs and at least 8 slices of brisket. I had the opportunity to try all of their six sauces which were equally as good. I wished they had a sauce that had some more heat. Neither the sweet & spicy or the chipotle were very spicy at all. The entree came with two sides for which they have the typical fries, tater tots, cole slaw, beans, mac & cheese etc to choose from. It use to be better and though always expensive for what you got, the prices are through the roof with the inflation that is hitting everyone these days. Prices might explain why a restaurant that use to be jammed, had only 3 tables filled on a Saturday night. Or maybe it's because it's spring break, but then everyone has not left town.There were folks at the bar, but they appeared just to be drinking. It's a nice bar and with a world gone mad, who can blame them! The food is good, but not great and definitely not worth the price. I like to support local non-chain restaurants, but won't be returning anytime soon. Ordered catering for family gathering. Communication with Deanna was excellent. She was quick to respond to queries via email and finalizing the menu and quantity details on the phone. Deanna delivered the order on time. Ribs, pulled pork and brisket were all packaged securely in aluminum foil pans that went directly from the delivery box to warming plates that we had set up. BBQ'd Production: Honestly, I'm still a little bit confused as to what it was exactly, it's pretty unique (at least to me). It sort of reminded me of meatloaf, but the texture was different. It's a carnivore's dream; a beautiful amalgamation of meats: pork, brisket, bacon, sausage...If you're a meatatarian like me, you'd be a fool not to get this dish ;) I would've enjoyed it a tad more had it been a smidge warmer. It being served room temp threw us off, but the wonderful flavors and the tenderness of the meats shined through. It's something I would love to eat every Thanksgiving or Christmas :) BBQ Brisket Nachos: Wowza. Definitely a must-order. This was our 1st time here at the Grayslake location. We ordered the brisket and burnt ends. We arrived about an hour or so before closing. The food was OK. The brisket was a nice portion size but it was dry. The burnt ends were burnt and only a couple were tender. We got rhe 9 piece wings also, they were OK. The seasoning is just not what we are use too. After receiving our food, we left 15 mins later. Our server Gio was excellent and attentive. The baked beans were good and loaded mashed potatoes. The mac and cheese is OK, like from a box. They're pricey. I'm willing to try again, when it isn't closing time. Maybe that'll make a difference. read more

This was one of two BBQ places in the area and I went here because it had more reviews so I was feeling pretty good until I walked in, Oh no there is no smoke smell in the air and that almost always is not a good sign. After having some of the best BBQ at the shaved duck during my visit to St. Louis I wanted some BBQ because I was craving BBQ. The place is relatively nice with a bar, table and chairs and a outdoor patio on the side. There is bold orange walls with shiny sheet metal for a modern industrial look. With the lack of smoke in the air I was going to play it safe and get a 1/2 rack of the ribs that comes with one side and I chose smoked Gouda Mac and cheese. I got my order and I can't smell any smoke from the meat but the ribs did smell good and looked good with a visible dry rub and nice color. I got the ribs naked so I could taste the meat and see where they stand. I started with the smoked Gouda Mac which has a creamy Mac under a top layer of meaty cheese. The noodles were cooked slightly past al dente and were on the way to mush but not total mush with a small smell/taste of smoke. My first impression of the ribs was no smoke flavor but a sweet BBQ potato chips flavor so if these ribs are smoked it's not the flavor that hits you. They also didn't have that traditional red smoke ring so maybe there are super lightly smoked ?. With that being said the ribs were fall off the bone and on the dry side but still tasty in there own way. Imho I feel Bbq should have one of two flavors to be Bbq which is either a smoke or grill flavor in the meat which this had neither. Now I'm not saying that they were bad but I have had Bbq all over and this just didn't satisfy my Bbq crave. read more

Okay just got here the service so far is phenomenal . The menu looks amazing Daniel was our server we came in late they are so accommodating. We came in and 1/2 the area was cleaned up for the night the area in front of the bar was open. Was really clean , great menu so many choices. My son ordered a chicken slider and selected coleslaw for his side. The chicken slider was a thinly sliced fried chicken that was delicious . I chose the brioche bun with burnt ends and the first piece was a bit dry but everyone after was really wonderful had a nice Smokey flavor they had a great selection of sauces . The macaroni and Gouda cheese was not that good. the coleslaw was average . But the sandwiches were fantastic and will be back to try the rest of the foods. If you are in the area do yourself a favor ask For Daniel ( Dani) She was such a doll so sweet and attentive. Explained all the different type of sauces, and just overall was great. She's a fantastic server she might be part of this family the way her attitude was. I know if I had a business I would definitely want her as part of my team. My partner and I came in after his games umpiring. We were originally going to get it to go but decided to dine in. Our server Quinton was great and very attentive. When I couldn't decide between the rib tips or pulled pork he suggested rib tips. These were some of the best rib tips I've had in a while. My partner had their Mac and Cheese with pulled pork.
