Quesobirria tacos were so delicious and the Birria Chan was also very delicious. It was different from what we've had before it's like a ramen noodle soup with brisket. The people that work/own it are VERY nice the owner came up to us starting talking to us super friendly. The environment was very southern. We will definitely be repeat customers.

My boyfriend and I stopped in after a night at Six Flags. It was cold and rainy and we knew we wanted warm food so I pulled up Yelp and saw the rave reviews and decided to venture to Texas Bebe's Quesobirria. And we are sooooo glad we did! I got the Quesobirria tacos and I am still dreaming about them. Everything was perfect!! One bite and you knew it was the best taco you'll ever have. My boyfriend and I were speechless after our first few bites. Writing this review is torture because I want to come back and live about an hour away in the city. Before we even finished our meal, we were making a list of people we want to bring out here. We were already saying we wanted and needed to come back before we even finish our meal. I was upset I was full. We chatted with some of the staff and everyone was kind and excited that it was our first time. I learned from our waitress that they opened in the midst of 2020 and for a restaurant to open during that time AND be successful enough to grow shows how amazing the food and staff are. To add to the positives, it's a family owned restaurant. The drinks are amazing and the sauces are fresh. The decor ties into their Texan roots. We had a fun time at Six Flags, but finding this gem was the highlight of our night!!

I'd seen Quesobirria tacos on the Food Network and been wanting to try them ever since, so I was very excited to find Texas Bebe's so close in Grayslake. Reality was a little disappointing for me. I got the #1, Quesobirria tacos meal. It was tasty but super greasy. My companion got a chicken burrito that he really enjoyed. The restaurant was cute and had plenty of options on the menu, including desserts. It was definitely worth a trip to try something new.

My queso birria tacos we're just hands down terrible . I don't know what the kitchen was doing . Normally they are the best . Had 3 orders exactly the same no sauce on the tacos like they are usually made .

First time we came here was for catering and was disappointed because they promised our large order would be ready by 6:00. It wasn't ready until 6:45. Not a really great first impression. Tonight was the second time. Different story. Came early on a Sunday evening to beat the dinner rush. Looks like they plan on expanding and could use it as the space is pretty tight. Customers are able to seat themselves in the bar or tables. Service was fast and the wait staff explained the menu before we could even ask. Margarita was delicious and beer was ice cold, which I like. My husband ordered the Torta al Pastor, which he usually orders at Mexican Restaurants. I ordered the Birria Chan, which was unique. Mexican and Japanese ingredients fused into a delicious soup. Excellent fusion!! The depth of flavor in the broth was spectacular!! The Ramen noodles soaked all the flavor from the broth. Plus, hints of Cilantro further enhanced the flavor. Could not stop eating!! It came with two meat tacos that you could dip in the soup and that cabbage slaw is addicting. I had my husband taste the soup. He liked it so much that he ordered it as well. This is my favorite Mexican Restaurant in Lake County. A must try!!

Oh my everything was perfection. My son had number 1 was delish. With or without Consommé. I had smoked brisket sandwich with jalapeño and caramelized onion. they had good margaritas my son had a grapefruit margarita I asked for how opinion mind I would like a little more minced jalapeños some heat but the margarita was pretty good. The owner was walking around and making sure that everything was OK. He made two rounds very thorough very nice. It was a little expensive but I'd rather spend a little more money and have really good food so I would definitely come back here and try more of the menu. One thing I think that would be good is as many prices were accurate I think they weren't updated so the prices when we checked out did not reflect on the menu . If you're in the area highly recommend it and if you're not in the area take a drive out here.

Omg this is a long one, but the short version is....Don't do do it! Don't waste your money here. We ordered quesobirra tacos, asada tacos, rice, beans, chips and salsa. There was no flavor to anything we ordered, literally none. It's as if they don't know what seasonings are or that salt helps. For the Birria tacos: They use mini corn tortillas so 6 tacos is more like three. They were soggy, but also never crisped up, which is why I'd say greasy is accurate. Though you expect to have grease with cheese and consume. This is the first pace I have had them small and not with a crispy texture to the outside. The asada tacos were full of meat, but also no flavor and dry. This is where I used the small salsas. The red hot was hot, not too hot, but again no flavor at all..... just red heat. The green was medium in heat to mild, also no flavor. The beans were very thick and bland, I would say from a can, but if they are they got dried out. The rice was red Mexican restaurant style rice, nothing added to it, including salt or bullion. The table style salsa and chips were ok, but I knew from tasting that to start....we were going to be disappointed. This place is way too expensive to be out here with no flavor. Oh and they charge more for using a card over cash. I wouldn't mind paying the price for good food, but I literally ended up not finishing my half and gave some to my dog and then the rest out. Ochoa's in Deerfield or La Plancha in Highwood are far better!!

Breakfast menu

Note that they told us they've been opening at 10:30 AM, not 8AM as posted on Yelp. They were kind enough to let us in at 9:30 and we had a great breakfast. They have coffee. They are honest - our server told us that one breakfast taco is usually enough for one person, that we could always order another if it wasn't, and she was right. The online order menu says they have crepes, but those were not on the menu in the restaurant.

I'm so glad we stumbled upon this place! A hidden gem tucked away in a small little strip. The nachos were delicious. The Birria was the star of all the dishes and so flavorful and tender. The noodles for the Birria chan were such a good texture. The portions were really big and I could not save room for dessert (shocking for me), but I will be back again soon! Great food and great service. Small dining space but it looks as though they might be expanding soon?

Great food and great service…read more We've been here several times and they always nail it. This time we had a Beef Burrito, Tongue taco and a taco salad. Everything came out quickly and hot. Flavor is really good. Tacos have lots of meat and perfect. Highly recommended.

We were invited to seat ourselves and did so; we were attended almost immediately by a friendly, personable waitress who took our drink orders. Our drinks arrived very quickly as well as a plate of tortilla crisps and a small bowl of salsa; the salsa was excellent, with a good, home-made flavour and a terrific 'kick' to it (but not too hot). I enjoyed it very much, and told the waitress this as well. Due to the cold weather, I ordered a hot coffee, which arrived in a very beautifully decorated mug; it arrived very quickly as well. The waitress commented on the mug and, again, was very friendly and personable. Our orders arrived VERY quickly, in less than five minutes; I ordered the steak tacos and they were DELICIOUS. Full of flavour and served with cilantro, onion, lettuce, and tomato (and not too much of this) and on soft flour tortillas. I ordered three; I should have ordered more! The tacos were served with several different salsas, including a habanero which was wonderful and a salsa verde which was not as spicy but still had a great flavour/kick to it. . (small comment: I am partial to hot, spicy food so I really liked this) . We had two (2) different waitresses; both stopped by the table several times to ask how our meal was and if we wanted anything else. The waitresses kept my water glass filled, and with plenty of ice! The restaurant is clean and simply designed; the food was excellent and I will certainly come back again!

This was on a day with single digit temps so we were the only customers. The decor of the place was bright, cheerful and inviting. There were maybe 20-25 tables and a small bar in the back. They were located right on the main shopping area in Round Lake Park. My daughter ordered a fancy strawberry margarita which came piled high with pink Strawberry frozen mush in a salted frosted glass . She said it was delicious. We both ordered taco dinners with a variety of meats and shrimp tacos and they came with beans and rice, everything delicious and done perfectly. Julio checked with us if we wanted cilantro in our tacos and we both said yes. The tortillas were double, soft and made just right as were the ingredients. We sat for a long time eating and visiting, and had a lovely time. Couldn't have been better! The bill was about $40 before the tip. We'll be back. This place was only a mile or so from where I live so it is very convenient and easy to find with their bright yellow storefront. We were able to park right in front of the door.

The restaurant is pretty small, but they packed a lot of seating into this old Subway. The booths can easily fit a group of 6, while the tables can be pushed together to seat more. There are also 3 tables outside as well. Plenty of vegetarian options, which is a huge bonus, and they have Beyond beef for those that enjoy mock meats. I had dinner here with two of my friends, and we all enjoyed our meals! We shared these yummy little horchata balls, and I had a vegetarian burrito (solid size!). I also had two, don't judge haha, classic margaritas. I wouldn't typically order a classic margarita, as I don't do overly sweet or syrupy drinks, but these were really light and yummy!! The Ay Cabron! hot sauce was SO good with my burrito, and had a nice tingle while still providing flavor. My bill came out to $36 for the three things I ordered, which is pretty decent considering how expensive dining out can be. Can't wait to dine in again to try the Chile Relleno! YUMMY!

A hidden gem with one of the best pizzas I've ever had!…read more I've only been coming to Abel's Cantina for the last 3 1/2 months, but it's quickly become one of my absolute favorite spots in Grayslake. The margaritas are fantastic, the pico de gallo is super fresh, and the homemade tortilla chips are just perfect -- warm, crisp, and addictive. But the real surprise here is their shrimp, garlic, and broccoli pizza. I've spent years traveling throughout Europe, the U.S., and Canada searching for amazing pizza, and this one is definitely in my top five. The crust has that perfect balance of chew and crunch, the flavors are fresh and balanced, and it's unlike anything else around here. Friendly people, great atmosphere, and food that keeps me coming back -- Abel's Cantina is a true local favorite in the making.

I came in on Cinco de Mayo, and while I expected it to be busy, the experience went far beyond what felt reasonable. We waited about 40 minutes for a table, which was completely understandable given the holiday. However, after being seated, it took another 35 minutes just to receive our first round of drinks. After that, service was nearly nonexistent--we ended up going to the bar ourselves for a second round because no one checked on us. We were told the restaurant was out of chips and salsa, which wasn't a big deal, but it was confusing to then see multiple nearby tables receiving additional rounds. The biggest issue was the lack of communication and attentiveness. It took an hour just to place our food order because no one came to our table--we eventually had to flag down our server. At that point, we were ready to order immediately. Even then, our food never arrived. After another hour, we still hadn't received anything--not even the guacamole appetizer we ordered right away. Spending nearly three hours at a table without being served food or given any updates was extremely frustrating. To be fair, this felt more like a management issue than a server issue. If the kitchen is that far behind, online orders should be paused so the staff can focus on the guests dining in. A simple update or check-in would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, this experience was disappointing enough that I'd strongly reconsider coming back during busy events or recommending it to others on holidays.
