Meats/Spaltter pan
Robinn Y.

Food: I like that their portions was small so you can get variety and not get too full quickly. Cons: I don't like the pan, it splatters more and oil removal is manual with a tissue. Service: 10/10. I went here over 7 years ago? Service was so bad we never went back till today. It's under new management. It was a Thursday so it wasn't full but each server was very attentive. Ambiance: it's not the modern new bbq places but it's a place you can talk to each other. I can actually hear the other person. Overall: 8/10! Will go back.

Banchan

We visited around 7pm on a Friday night and were swiftly greeted by a hostess. It wasn't really busy for a Friday night. I guess that should've been a sign. We ended up ordering the House Combo ($60) for a table of two. The Korean banchan (side dishes) were a little off. Maybe I'm not a very good Korean, but I feel like the whole meal would've been better if there was just some more sugar in the meat marinades. The meal was lackluster. I'm going to take the leftovers home and rework it like an episode of Chopped. The food was edible, service was decent, and the squid wasn't too bad. IMHO, the meal wasn't worth $80 (with tax and tip).

All you can eat?? Meat Serving is very stingy not worth the price. Seaweed soup served warm not hot and lacked of flavor. That's the only option for soup . For seafood you get a squid and veggies where you cook it in foil..... cancerous. It's slow on a Friday but still bad service. Maybe that's why it's slow here. . Not coming back. I recommend going to MR KIMCHI it's way better, good service , good banchan and generous serving but more busier. We came here cuz we wanted to try something different, but bad decision. Not coming back here.

Decent looking toilet

Ah, I love me some Korean BBQ. There's nothing like getting endless amounts of meat and having your clothes smell like it after a good eating session. Pro-tip: leave your jacket in the car if you don't want to smell like a Korean BBQ. Sure, there's exhaust fans hovering your table, but you can't avoid smelling like it after an hour or so of sitting less than a foot next to one. Of all the asian food out there, besides Vietnamese, Korean food ranks second to my least knowledgeable food. If it isn't Korean BBQ, I don't know much about it, beside kimchee tastes and smells terrible to me. Besides the awesome meats, like pork belly, bulgogi, we got the usual Korean small plate appetizers. The fish cake was always my favorite, along with the bean sprouts. They had one of those call buttons where you press it an their staff comes asking if you need anything. Pretty cool. What else can I say? The meat was great, although the lettuce was somewhat wilty, so I stayed away from that. I lost count how much meat we ate, but it was probably an entire farm. I'm sorry for vegans out there... I am. BATHROOM REVIEW: Pleasantly clean and nice. The toilet looked rather clean, and if it wasn't clean enough for you, the toilet wand is in arms reach. Sit or squat? Sit!

It's been a while since I've been to a Korean barbecue grill. This one has a frying pan/hot plate where you cook the meats you ordered. I prefer the grill though. Kind of pricey for small amounts of meats. It's also mandatory to order the same amount of dishes as the number of people in your group.

Bulgogi with kimchee and steamed rice
Diana G.

just now I'm so very happy I finally tried out this Korean restaurant just two short blocks away from me. Typically I have a favorite restaurant near me that I always visit for lunch bento but there wasn't any available table so I decided to finally give this restaurant a try. I chose one of their lunch specials a Bulgogi which is grilled beef with vegetables. The Bulgogi comes with a small bowl of steamed white rice, a bowl of seaweed soup, various cold Korean appetizers and kimchee. The food was incredibly delicious and generously proportioned for the price. The service was excellent and I felt incredibly satisfied with my meal. I highly recommend their lunch specials and I'll definitely be returning here in the near future.

I don't like this place that much. I used to love rhis place before COVID 19 pandemic started, but it is totally changed. I don't like the way how the server is serving the tables. She is not that kind, and didn't want to help when we told her the meat didn't look so fresh. She brought out the new ones to exchange, but we still didn't like them much. They used to serve very good quality of the meats before, but not any more. No more expectations from here.

It's pretty much a self-serve food-court-like operation here except the setting is that of a comfortable regular sit-down restaurant.  He had complimentary self-serve iced tea for the customers.  He also had nice, contemporary American pop music on.  We were there with one other patron family, and had a short wait for the food prep, but I did wonder how Mr. Kim might keep up if a crowd hit, but he's managed this well-rated place for 10 years, so he must have a way! Overall, I'll go with 4.49 stars rounded down to 4 for our pleasant outing, mainly as the content of the servings were more like 4 star values but served in a nice and calm sit-down restaurant setting.  Thanks, and continued good luck Mr. Kim!

That alone already told me we were in for a treat. I've had Korean bbq quite a few times, but I am by no means a master. I will say I was thoroughly impressed by the quality and offerings at Koreana. The space was recently updated with new grills and tables, and I noticed how the whole restaurant seemed very clean upon arrival. The banchan were so good I could have made a meal out of the sides. We ordered the Tteokbokki and a sample meat platter. Between 6 people it was plenty of food, and we were stuffed to the brim upon leaving. I enjoyed their version of Tteokbooki; it was spicy but still had a hint of sweetness. All the meat we ordered was deliciously seasoned and fresh. Overall, my favorite meats were the spare ribs and beef bulgogi. Can't wait to return!

Beyond the food, this was hands-down the BEST service I've ever had at a K-BBQ restaurant. Our waitress, Maggie, was awesome. We didn't even have to ask for more banchan (side dishes); she checked on us regularly and proactively refilled them. The restaurant also has plenty of TV screens broadcasting sports and news, which added to the great vibe. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu, and I'll absolutely be requesting Maggie!

Like another reviewer mentioned, this was cooked and prepared (Mongolian style) in the kitchen. It came out on a sizzling skillet. It tasted delicious. The meat was really tender and juicy, but there were a couple of pieces with bone-in which I didn't really care for. I thought the side-dishes were really good. I completely finished the kimchi and pickled cucumbers. So good. I almost forgot about the miso soup. It was pretty standard (which is good) and hit the spot on a wintery day. Unexpectedly, for dessert, the server brought out a Haagan Daas ice-cream bar lol. I wasn't sure if this was normal or if it was just because I'm handsome? (found out later they do this for everyone... lol). I didn't really have room b/c I was full from the main dish and sides but ate it anyways (why not?). Overall I had a delicious meal. I can't remember the pricing off the top of my head, but I would say that it's reasonably priced. Oh, they also serve alcohol here too so if your looking for a spot for a group of people, that is an option. I personally had a large Cass to wash down my meal. Daebak!

They don't make'em like this much more. With charcoals, I mean…read more There's got to be extra steps to get permission for indoor charcoal cooking, so I get it. But meat just tastes better bbq'd on charcoal, y'na mean? It honestly had been a decade and a half since I went to a proper charcoal KBBQ, so this was super exciting for me. The place had an old facade that was reminiscent of the "old days" for me. Not to say it was run down or anything, but everything from the floorplan to the old tables with charcoal pit installed tables reminded me of the KBBQ era of the 90's and beyond. Loved it! My family went inside way past lunch hour, so the place had cleared out and owners seemed to have been having lunch. The two gentlemen eho greeted us gave out father and son energy, but I couldn't be sure. There was a life sized photo of the oldtimer in a marathon getup hanging on one side of the shop entrance, which he explained was taken a decade ago. I could tell he would have been around my father's age, but seemed super healthy. A pleasant man for sure! It may not necesaarily be a good thing for owners, but I love it when there aren't too many patrons around, because it means that I'll get all the attention I need from them, when I need. It was certainly the case here. They were super attentive when we needed something. To be fair, we knew exactly what we wanted, so it wasn't like we needed to call them every 5 minutes, but it certainly was easy to get their attention when I needed another bottle of beer. :-D My family of three order two servings of marinated galbi, contemplating on whether or not to order my wife's favorite pork belly. In the end, we were too full and were glad we stopped with only two servings. We'll just have to come back to try other meat later. This is ALWAYS a dilemma for my family. All three of us each have our favorites, but none of us can eat a whole serving. We usually end up going with my daughter's favorite every time, unless my wife and I are out by ourselves, which these days is not as often as I'd like. We'll just have to wait a couple more years for her to graduate.. Galbi (short ribs) was GREAT! Not much else to say about it, other than the fact that any meat will taste better when grilled on charcoal. With so many other KBBQs around town with more "hip" and "modern" atmosphere, I don't know how well New Seoul is doing these days, but I certainly hope they do enough business to continue to be around. More and more Korean restaurants are moving away from their traditional way of doing things in order to cater to American audiences. They may not be huge changes, but these subtle changes make people like me and my wife a bit sad because it eats away a little bit of our nostalgia each time we experience some. I hate to sound like an old man about it, but I guess it falls to people like myself to continue to support more of the traditional places like these over the young ones. Anyway, based on just the marinated galbi my family had, I must give them 5 stars!
