My friend from SoCal and I had been talking about trying to find a Korean BBQ restaurant in my area, when after we read all the Yelp! Reviews we decided upon this one. BBQ Hut is located in a strip mall with a number of asian restaurants, including ANOTHER Korean restaurant across the parking lot from them. There is also a Thai place and a Chinese/Dim-Sum place as well. You could say this particular strip mall in Hoffman Estates is like a asian food court, but on a bigger scale. Anyway, I digress, as we come in, we're greeted by host and asked if we are doing BBQ and we reply in the affirmative. We also had the kids with us and it was their first time trying the whole Korean BBQ experience. We sit down and they serve us hot tea as well as water. We all decide to just go full-on Korean BBQ for everyone and go for the UNLIMITED option. You get to pick 3 different meats (to begin with) from their diverse menu of marinated and non-marinated meats. We went for the Bulgoki, Galbi, and Non-Spicy Chicken (for the kids). Their meats were quite tasted and the meat was of good quality. Also, the vast array of banchan was quite good. My favorite is the garlic beanspouts. They had a jalapeno pickled daikon as well as the usual kimchee. Then, we tried more Bulgoki and Samgyeopsal (unsalted bacon) to finish off the meal. We had the kids with us and it was a school night, so, we had to hurry it up. We would have indulged our inner carnivore more, but time+kids were an issue. :) Plus, there were quite a number of Korean patrons at the tables that were occupied. So, it MUST be good, right? The service was pretty awesome, maybe because we had kids and the women serving us were all doting on our kids. They gave them a little yogurt treat at the end, which was nice. :) Also, we went in the middle of the week at around 8pm, so, I'm sure the dinner rush was already done. We definitely plan on visiting this place when we can kids or no kids. The UNLIMITED option is $22.95 for adults and $11.95 for kids. There have been mentions of a gratuity issue and if you have a group, but like one or more in the group doesn't go for the BBQ. We didn't experience these things went we went. There was a 15% gratuity, but with the service we go, it's more than worth it. They have a "service button" so, if you need a drink, more meat, and/or more banchan...ring away! If you are going for Korean BBQ, bring a big group...their tables seat 8 to a table with two charcoal burners for optimum meat grilling. They do have other NON-BBQ choices on the menu, but I'm here for the BBQ! If I want just standard Korean cuisine, I'll go to a non-BBQ restaurant. Oh, and watch your hands near the charcoal grills or else you will grill more than just the bulgoki! ;) Overall, YUMMY with a capital YUM! :) I'm so happy to have found this Korean BBQ place...yay for more food options in the burbs! ;) read more

BBQ Hut is an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ but not really. The meal starts off great but quickly starts to decline. You're often waiting for the waitress to bring you the meat. At times, you have a hot grill but no meat since you're still waiting. Unfortunately, you also get the stink eye if you are there for too long or order too much. They'll start to give you meat that hasn't been marinated as long which isn't as flavorful. The pan chan (side dishes) selection is also limited to kimchee and pickled vegetables. Surprisingly, they didn't have green onions. I would have liked to have seen myulchi (anchioves) or pajun (pancakes) like at other BBQ buffets. Why do I keep going there? For $22.95, you also have your choice of different cuts of meat from ribeye, kalbi (marinated short ribs), samgyupsul (pork belly), squid, and etc. For the location, BBQ Hut is convenient for being within a 5 minute drive. It is also unique since there is no other Korean BBQ buffets in Schaumburg. Although not the best, it still satisfies the cravings to binge on kalbi. If you are willing to drive 20 minutes away from the area, there are other Korean BBQ buffets that are better for the same price. read more

First time here. My husband and his friends have come here a few times and I finally got to try it out with them. $25.99 AYCE for 2 hrs. Seriously a good deal. It's nice that you can order a variety of meats, spicy or mild and it includes squid for anyone that wants some seafood. Also liked that you could order 1/2 size meat platters, as the rules with AYCE is to have no waste or leftover carry out. Only thing I wish they had is more vegetable options. We had onions and the romaine lettuce If you wanted to go low carb without rice. Would want some mushrooms, eggplant, zucchini etc. ban Chan was not bad, there were different radishes, Kimchee, fishcake, cabbage etc. you also get unlimited soup as well. Waitresses were very attentive and brought things out fairly quick. If you want to spend a lot of money on mediocre food. For two people spent $71.98 plus tax of $8.64 with a total coming out as $80.62. It's $33.99 a person. The waitress was very rude asking for more money and kept trying to bring back my receipt for more money each time. She didn't deserve the tip I already gave her. Should have just put zero on there. All you can eat kbbq! I never knew there was one so close to my house. My family went there to eat yesterday for dinner. Some of their assortment of meats is different than most places, but that's a good thing. We had chadol (brisket), tongue, samgyupsal (pork belly), moksal (pork neck meat), spicy intestines, spicy stomach, tripe, bulgogi. Yeah, we tried a lot. My favorites were the intestines, stomach, & tripe. I'm an offal girl. I liked that the intestines, stomach, & tripe came out in their own foil packets to put directly on the grill. They are actually already cooked so all you have to do is warm them up! The stomach was the family favorite! We all liked that one. Other than that, everything else was meh. The banchan was not good. I barely touched it, except the kimchi. Their kimchi was very good. The soup that they give you after your meal was seaweed soup. Usually it's soybean paste soup or naengmyun. Anyway, the seaweed soup tasted like water and seaweed. I didn't eat mine. I did not like the taste. They also didn't have fried rice at the end of the meal. Boooo. Wish I read the reviews before coming here. I've never had a Korean BBQ experience, so I asked my grandma if we could check this place out. However, after reading the prices and realizing it'd probably be better with a big group, we just ordered some entrees. The food was ok. I've had better Korean. My grandma was stomaching it so not to appear disappointed by my choice, but I know her to well. But the service? Complete ass. We were the only people there that morning, with three people working the floor. There's no excuse for why we had to wave them down for a fork, or water, or the check. They just sat at their table gossiping away. Never did any of them check on us. And on our way out, when we asked for a bag for our leftovers, the lady had the nerve to look offended. I highly recommended this place for kbbq. I been going to this place for years and never had they let me down. Not sure what is up with the bad reviews because you people have such high expectation and needy. I have been here multiple times and never had once a problem. My friend wanted to give BBQ Hut Restaurant a try since he heard nothing but how amazing the service was and what a wide variety of options they offer on their all you can eat menu ($25.99/person). The restaurant is pretty small, but we didn't have a problem getting a table for 5 right away. First thing we noticed when looking through the AYCE menu, they didn't offer any appetizers which most AYCE Korean BBQ places I've been to does. They did though give a decent amount of banchan (side dishes usually served alongside with your meal) and had a good meat selection. The service wasn't anything like people raved about. It was extremely slow. It took over 20 minutes to get uncooked meat to our table. We didn't even get our waters or banchans refilled without trying to flag down one of the only two servers. Also we were missing dishes we ordered. For the meats, it was either a hit or miss. We tried everything from brisket to pork to stomach. The brisket was probably the biggest hit at our table, but even then 2 out of the 5 briskets we ordered was extremely tough. Also the seasoned meats were nothing to rave home about. I don't think I would take the time to drive to Hoffman Estates to come back here. There are similar places in the city that offers AYCE Korean BBQ that has better service and quality of meat at around the same price range. read more

I came here on my birthday w friends and fam (8/1) and it was pretty good. The staff were nice and funny but towards the end of our 6th serving, the bbq was all salty and dry. I really liked the food here! They had the usual menu of any other Korean restaurant and a grill and everything, but what stood out to me was that they had a separate little bar that had raw vegetables and rice cakes (duk boki) for you to cook on the grill. I thought that was fantastic. I love dukk boki! I was able to put it into the spicy pork that we ordered. It comes wrapped in foil so it was easy to put the rice cake in to absorb all the flavors. The staff there was really nice and compliment us on our outfits. It's about 20 dollars for all you can eat for lunch. I liked the spicy pork and the bulgogi the best. read more

*EDIT* I just noticed I made a typo, the address should be 1147 North Roselle Road, not 147. This is one of those Korean BBQ where you can cook the food right at your table. It doesn't look like much from the outside, just tucked away behind a Denny's in some random strip mall. But the decor inside is great, the owner is very cool, and the food is excellent. They have a special going right now where you can eat as as you can hold down for $20/person. If you've been to other Korean BBQ you probably remember how the price per tray of meat means you have to bring lots of friends with you to make eating this food affordable. But here, the pressure is off and the owner is quite generous. They will bring you steamed rice, miso soup and other goodies if you ask, but mainly it's just about the BBQ. Ordered through Uber Eats. The dolsot bibimbap had nothing dolsot about it. While good, and with decent chunks of beef, the rice wasn't crispy at all. Plentiful on veggies (which I'm a huge fan of nice pieces of shitake!) The flavor was good, a good size for the plate. I also ordered the rice dumpling soup (duk mandu guk). It was a bit lackluster. I appreciated the shreds of scrambled eggs, but the dumplings themselves were a bit small. A little too much of the rice cake slices. I would have appreciated a bit more broth. I just love my soup, and love slurping on it especially when it's bad weather outside, or I'm feeling a little sick. I'll probably honestly order it again when I want my Korean fix. but I might be spoiled by some great Korean food, too. not bad! read more

It was an amazing first time experience. I never had KBBQ before. I went with a group of 13 people, and we made reservations a day earlier. The reserved area was a reasonable size and very clean. It had one TV screen that would play the up-to-date kpop music videos. TVs were displayed throughout the entire restaurant. The biggest screen is when you walk through the entrance. The volume of those tv's could probably be adjusted, but it didn't matter so much since my group was to be louder either way. The bathrooms are very clean to my surprise. In fact, it's as pretty as the restaurant itself (I know. It's funny to say). Service was very friendly and excellent. They always checked up on our group once in awhile for water refills, more orders of the sides (such as rice. first bowl is free... or fish cakes and veggies). We ended up splitting 3 checks... Although it did get complicated for some reason. I'm relieved that the staff was calmly handling the checks and process. Food- since I never been to any other KBBQ place (or had any), I would say that the food is tasty! I shared an egg bibimbap served in a sizzling bowl, and lots of beef. The bulgogi was the best! I loved handling the barbecuing grill. We received lettuce, this rice cake roll thingy that I don't know the name of, sauced cucumbers, and rice. The plates that people eat off of are small, not to my surprise since I know some Asian cultures eat rather small. So, I never felt to sickly full. In terms of price, the food is still expensive. I apparently had to pay $21 (yes, I was in a group... but apparently our calculations added up to this per person +additional charges and tax. I wouldn't say that we ordered a ton). Went here with my family (3 adults, 2 kids) on an early Fri evening around 6pm. We used to come here regularly up until about 2yo after this place did away with the AYCE option; without the AYCE, the svc and quality just didn't earn our patronage. But after reading the reviews on the return of AYCE here for the past year or so, we finally decided to give this place another chance ths past weekend. We went in aware of the 2hr cap on the AYCE although the server made no mention of this interestingly. We ordered 3 rds of meats... 1ST RD: 2 orders of chadol (thinly sliced beef brisket) and 2 orders of samgupsal (pork belly). Both meats were tender and overall average quality (what I would expect for an AYCE place). 2ND RD: Repeat of 1st Rd to see if 1st Rd was a fluke. Meat quality was consistent (I mention this b/c some restaurants sometimes taper down the quantity and/or quality during subsequent rounds) and the svc was surprisingly attentive on bringing out the meats as well as on refilling banchan/sidedishes, lettuce wraps, seasoned scallion salad, oils, etc. 3RD RD: Ordered 1 order of jumuluk (they serve thinly sliced ribeye here and not the shortrib steaks we were hoping for) and 1 order of bulgogi. The cuts of beef were tender and flavorful (esp the bulgogi) and made for a nice end to this evening's gluttony. All said and done, the above feast was served and devoured in 1hr, 15min! A successful dinner, I would say. We really weren't expecting good svc, so this evening was a pleasant surprise and maybe a fluke, but we'll have to come back to see if this place deserves to be our mainstay once again as there are so few AYCE Korean BBQ options in Chicago these days. It was a fun experience, completely different taste to what I am used to. Some of the sauces were unbearable but people who I went with loved them, so to each their own. The types of Korean BBQ places I'm used to allow you to get as much meat as you want, buffet style. Ordering our meat was definitely different. Service was really fast, although we were the only ones in the restaurant. But my cousin said that usually they're slow to getting you your meat. Unlimited buffet is also for two hours, which is a weird concept to me, especially for the price you pay. We ordered the brisket, pork belly, bulbgogi, Circle steak, and then had repeat orders. Everything tasted great. I'm a huge fan of side dishes, so getting my fill of kimchi was a huge bonus. Overall, it's a nice place especially with the unlimited. However, I'm just not a fan of the time limit. I felt like I was in a hurry to eat my food. I'm the type that likes to take their time when eating at a Korean BBQ place, mainly because waiting for the food to cook was always good for conversation time. Everything was great until we started to cook the food the burner kept going out like 6 times while trying to cook the meat. This is one of my go to Korean BBQ places in the suburbs. The place is very clean and not smoky at all. Doing the unlimited saves you a ton of money and you get to try all the different kinds of meat they've available. My favorite is the pork belly. I wasn't a fan of the chicken though, so I wouldn't recommend getting that on the unlimited menu. The sides were all delicious as well and had great flavors. The service was great and they're very friendly here. They're very attentive if you need more meat, sides, drinks, and etc. I suggest to try out this place for some good Korean BBQ read more
