My child's experience at BBC was incredible! Mrs. B was my child's tutor, and she had so many priceless and amazing traits about her that made her a great tutor. I would highly recommend BBC Tutoring for HSPT prep. Both Mrs. B and Mr. B took great effort in getting my son ready for the high school entrance exams this year. Although we started his sessions with them quite late in the year, they were quickly able to gauge his level and guide him accordingly. They had him take many practice tests and also educated him about good test taking strategies. They kept the sessions fun enough that he never complained about his lessons with them. In fact he seemed to enjoy them. At the end of it all, I am happy to say that he got accepted to the three private schools that he applied to. Mrs. B was crucial in helping our son realize his potential in 5th grade.  We received his end of quarter grades and were unpleasantly surprised. He received low grades in neatness and writing. His teacher also gave negative comments about how our son is a leader, but is steering students in the wrong direction. We were so blessed to find Mrs. B.  At her first glance of my son's school work, Mrs. B looked at him in her friendly, but serious manner and asked if he knew his work was a reflection of himself. This question got our son thinking. She crafted her sessions with my son to show him how to neatly redo incorrect problems on his math test: on graph paper and using a straight edge ruler.  Upon showing me his work from his session, my son told me he actually liked the work, even though it was hard and time consuming. She also gave him study skills for his social studies test. He enjoyed bringing his test home from school with an AMAZING great grade.  His handwriting was legible!  Our son's teacher remarked she is seeing him more focused and wanting to work hard. I was having a awful problem with geometry and trigonometry. I thought that I was just stupid. I did very well in all my other classes, so I couldn't figure out why I was doing so poorly in these subjects (I had done fine in Algebra). When I started working with Mrs. Bowers, I learned that there are a number of different ways of learning---and, if YOUR way isn't the same as the teacher's, you're just not going to get it---it's not your fault. "Mrs. B" discovered that my way of learing is by "doing"--not "watching", or "listening", and that by "doing", I could pick up the missed areas very quickly. She is VERY helpful, VERY patient, and has a wonderful British accent! She has become a very dear friend---I'm told, by other former students, that they stay good friends long after ther have no longer need her tutorship. She is truly "a dear"! I didn't need help in English, Social Studies, or languages, but I have heard that Mr. Bowers is an excellent tutor in those areas. (Also, I've learned that they now have additional, carefully-trained assistants, who tutor under their careful guidance). I am a former student of Mrs. Bowers and I couldn't have picked a better tutor to help me get into my first choice college. I am currently a student at the four year university of my choice and excelling thanks to Mrs. B.
